Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 420 - 418:Revenge Complete.Chapter 420: Chapter 418:Revenge Complete.
"How does something like this even happen?" I asked as I looked at the empty patch of land that stretched on for kilometers out.
We were currently at the place where the Land of the Damned was supposed to be located, but there was nothing. No inner regions spewing forth vast amounts of corrupted mana, no outer regions, no nothing. Just an empty expanse of land.
"I don’t know, husband. I had been distracted by everything going on with you that I was only just now noticing this situation," Terra replied from beside me.
The girls visibly recoiled at the words coming out of Terra’s mouth.
"Yeah, can we not go around calling Dante that?" Melissa couldn’t keep quiet anymore.
"I mean, it’s weird having you calling Dante husband all the time." Khalifa.
"I mean, even we haven’t gotten the chance to yet."
"""LIZ!!!"""
"Oops. Forget you heard anything."
I only smiled and shook my head at their interactions.
"So, what do we do about this?" Aunt V asked as she came to stand by my side.
"Hmmm..." The situation wasn’t truly as dire as it was weird. For a piece of the world to just up and disappear, it was very weird, but, "What’s done is done, we can’t bring back something we have no idea where it went." I shrugged.
Both the gate leading to the Abyss and the Land of the Damned, something weird had happened with them, but I wasn’t the weirdness police. I wasn’t about to get myself involved in a wild-goose chase.
"You have enough power to actually try tracking them both down. You’re just being lazy."
"Like I said, not the weirdness police. If I come across the answer then so be it, if I don’t then that’s that." I shrugged at Shaia’s words.
"So, Dante, what now?" Trust the old man to ask the question everybody was trying to avoid.
There were no foreign races on Terra anymore. The demons had up and left. The ancient families, the ones still standing don’t dare to act out, as for those who did, well, they’re now ancient history.
Everything seemed to have been completed. My revenge should be complete, but there was still a loose end left to tie up.
"Now? I finish everything and then we leave."
"What do you have in mind?"
"You’ll see..." I grinned as I thrust my hand into the space before me, the energy signature of one sneaky and cowardly demon appearing in my mind.
"Let’s make sure my revenge is truly complete this time around..."
....
....
On a faraway world.
The sky was red. A crimson the color of blood.
There was only carnage and destruction wherever one went.
This was Argorath, the Blood World.
It was bloodshed, so much so that the earth had forgotten what color it was supposed to be.
Within the region of an enormous city, a massive building stood like a beacon of violence.
Mordred Spire.
The carnage, the fighting, the violence, none of it got to as much as a kilometer of this building, for even in a place where violence reigned supreme, there still existed a more violent nature of violence, and whenever a lesser violence meets a superior violence, the lesser must submit.
Within the ominous building, on the lowest floor, a meeting was currently underway.
"Heh! To think one of the Lord’s vessels would flee from an assigned world. Asmodeus, you truly are a disappointment to Lord Envy," a man sneered. With blood-red hair, crimson eyes, and sharp fangs, one would be tempted to think of him as a vampire, but the four jagged horns curling out of his head said otherwise.
"Mordred, how long will you keep rubbing this topic in my face? It’s been over a month, when will you let it go?" a spooky and cold voice replied.
The speaker, a man with icy blue eyes and horns sprouting from his forehead.
He was Asmodeus Nidhoros, the very same one that had encountered Dante back on Terra.
"Heh! Asmodeus, you came to me for refuge, the least I am allowed is the privilege to make jest of you to my satisfaction."
"But your jesting grows boring, Mordred. I would think the so-called Lord of Dread would be more than this."
"Don’t you dare, Asmodeus. If it wasn’t for that favor I owed you all those years ago, I would never have taken in a rat like you."
Asmodeus’ eyes flashed a cold light when he heard those words.
To think he, the feared Lord of Envy back on Terra, would be reduced to taking such insults just for the sake of refuge.
"Regulus... Regulus... you and your filthy spawn of a child were the cause of this. My misery, my shame, it’s all your fault. I swear, even if it’s the last thing I do, I will make sure to bring that little demon of yours crawling on his knees," he thought in venom. Never once considering his own faults, placing everything on the heads of Dante and Regulus.
His hatred peaking slowly as his "friend" continued throwing leery jeers at him.
"I believe this is enough for today." Asmodeus finally stood, unable to take the insults anymore. "I shall return to my—" He never got the chance to finish his words because...
Crack!
Reality suddenly fractured behind him.
"Huh?" He couldn’t even react before a strong hand was wrapped tightly around his neck.
Crash!!!
Mordred immediately stood up, face grim with pure dread.
They hadn’t sensed anything, the arm had just appeared like it had always been there.
"You—" Before the man, Mordred, could even say a word:
"So this is where you’ve been hiding, you snake?" A cold and emotionless voice flowed like icy water from the crack in space.
Both Mordred and Asmodeus felt a chill so cold it was worse than death grip their hearts. Their breaths stopped, their minds slowed. All they felt at that point was an incomprehensible feeling of death.
"I don’t know who you are, but for daring to shelter this filth from my wrath, your sentence has been decided." The moment the words left the crack...
RIIIIIIIIIIP!!!!
The deafening sound of something tearing shook the city as the skies were literally ripped open, and then... they fell.
"Pick your friends wisely in your next life." Done with its words, the arm finally pulled back the helpless figure of Asmodeus through the crack.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" The last thing accompanying it being the wailing and despairing voice of Mordred as the sky fell and devoured his city and the entire region whole.
And just like that, Argorath, the Blood World, lost one of its five supreme cities.
....
....
Devour...
My eyes remained locked on the motionless figure of Asmodeus, this snake, as the essence of devouring covered him whole.
I had planned to torture the bastard, but the moment he appeared, he seemed to have lost his soul, making my torture pointless.
<<DEVOURING IN PROGRESS...>>
The moment the process began, I watched closely as the faces of those around me twitched, and then,
"Hey, guys, you remember the demon lord Asmodeus?" I asked the one person that should know about that name, Valen, but,
"Hmm? Who’s that?" Just like I thought. The existence of the being known as Asmodeus has been thoroughly erased.
"Good." I nodded, satisfied. He didn’t deserve anything less.
"So, Dante, we were asking you what’s next," Khalifa chirped, but before I could reply,
"How about we go visit that little girl first?" Shaia spoke up.
"Little girl? Which little girl?"
"I believe you guys call her the Tower of Ascension. I believe your meeting is long overdue, teehee...."
