Chaos Heaven-Dominating Technique

Chapter 478 - 476: Thinking of a Way

Jian Wushuang nodded and walked into the cave.

Inside the cave, a group of Martial Artists sat cross-legged, heads bowed as they conversed in low tones. These were the most elite cultivators participating in the Secret Realm expedition. They were the future of the Northern Domain; every single one of them had the potential to one day become a Sect Master.

In the very center of the cave, Xue Shitian sat cross-legged atop a large boulder, his eyes shut tight. Blood-red Energy swirled around him, pulsing in time with his breaths.

A moment later, Xu Lin entered the cave, approached Xue Shitian’s side, and said in a low voice, "Brother Xue, those failures botched it. Shen Haoran arrived in time and killed them!"

At Xu Lin’s words, Xue Shitian’s tightly shut eyes slowly opened. The blood-red Energy swirling around him flowed back into his body.

"Hahh... I figured as much." Xue Shitian exhaled a long breath, speaking with utter indifference. "But it doesn’t matter. Our only goal was to give Shen Haoran a warning—to show him the price for offending us!"

Xu Lin nodded. He was about to withdraw, but just then, a displeased voice rang out from outside the cave.

"Xue Shitian, do you really think there’s any point to what you’re doing?" As the words echoed, Jian Wushuang strode in from outside, his expression grim.

"What do you mean by that, Brother Jian?" Xue Shitian asked, feigning ignorance.

"Hmph, stop playing dumb!" Jian Wushuang scoffed. "Those disciples Shen Haoran killed outside—you sent them, didn’t you? What’s the point? Do you really need to provoke a war between you two before you’ll be satisfied?"

"Hmph. You think I’m afraid of him?" Xue Shitian sneered, his aura suddenly erupting. A terrifying storm of Spiritual Power raged through the cave. The surrounding disciples paled at the sheer force of his presence. His title as the number one of the Northern Domain’s younger generation was clearly no empty boast. Based on that aura alone, everyone present felt utterly inferior.

Jian Wushuang’s expression flickered. He said, "Brother Xue, I know about the grudge between you two, but the Saint Emperor Sect ruins are about to open. To face the Wave of Death Warriors, we need a High Level combatant like Shen Haoran. With his help, we might be able to break through their blockade and reach the main hall of the Saint Emperor Sect."

"Heh. Are you saying that without Shen Haoran, we can’t obtain the Saint Emperor Sect’s legacy?" Xue Shitian scoffed. "What a joke. Since when do we pin our hopes on some worthless nobody?"

"We’ll be fine with or without him. So what if he can one-shot a few disciples from Second-class Sects? There’s no need to treat him as someone so important, Brother Jian."

"To even compare that kid to us... Brother Jian, has he put you under some kind of spell? With his insolence, he’s bound to ruin our plans sooner or later. We’re already being generous by not chasing him off!"

The disciples surrounding them spoke with contempt. They were all geniuses from First-class Sects, and being compared to some kid with no background or status made them extremely uncomfortable.

"Brother Jian, you don’t have some secret relationship with that Shen Haoran, do you? Is that why you’re favoring him so much?" Ouyang Shaoyu stepped forward, giving Jian Wushuang a peculiar look as he snickered. At his words, the surrounding Martial Artists erupted into boisterous laughter.

Hearing their laughter, Jian Wushuang shot a cold glance at Ouyang Shaoyu and the others. "Hmph. Do as you please," he said coldly. "But let me give you one word of warning: do not underestimate Shen Haoran. The Saint Emperor Sect’s ruins will be opening soon. If you fail to obtain the legacy within, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Shen Haoran’s life versus the Saint Emperor Sect’s legacy—weigh your priorities yourselves!" With that said, Jian Wushuang turned and walked away.

"Tch, making a mountain out of a molehill!" The disciples sneered as Jian Wushuang left. However, they didn’t bring up Shen Haoran again. Just as Jian Wushuang had said, in their eyes, the Saint Emperor Sect’s legacy was worth far more than Shen Haoran’s life.

Meanwhile, outside the cave, Shen Haoran had his hands full. Murong Wanqing’s internal injuries had worsened. He once again painstakingly nourished her meridians and internal organs. This time, he didn’t hesitate to use his Power of Chaos. Combined with the Elixirs he had refined, he finally managed to stabilize her condition once more.

Not only that, but Shen Haoran also had Xu Hao and the others hang the dozen or so corpses of the men he had killed on a large, nearby tree as a warning to any other Martial Artists with ideas about his group. It was unclear whether this show of force had actually deterred them, or if the disciples from the First-class Sects in the cave simply had no intention of making another move, but for several days, no one dared to bother Shen Haoran and his companions.

Even so, Shen Haoran never left Murong Wanqing’s side. Only after her injuries had fully stabilized did he finally breathe a huge sigh of relief.

With Murong Wanqing’s condition stable, Shen Haoran was finally freed up. He would periodically go to the mountain peak to gaze out at the Saint Emperor Sect ruins, pondering a way to get inside. However, after several days, he had dismissed every plan he came up with.

’The key is still the Wave of Death Warriors. I have to deal with them first,’ Shen Haoran thought, looking down at the sea of Death Warriors below.

And so, Shen Haoran shifted his focus to studying the Death Warriors. He continued his daily routine of running up and down the mountain, which greatly confused the Martial Artists at its base. They soon began to gossip.

"What’s Shen Haoran doing, running up and down the mountain every day? Has he gone crazy?"

"It looks like he’s trying to find a way into the Saint Emperor Sect."

"Find a way into the Saint Emperor Sect? That’s hilarious. Even that group in the cave hasn’t figured anything out. What makes him think *he* can?"

"Exactly. I knew he was arrogant, but I never thought he was *this* arrogant. He’s completely hopeless!"

The disdain in the Martial Artists’ voices was completely undisguised. But Shen Haoran paid them no mind, continuing his daily routine of going up and down the mountain. This went on until, half a month later, he finally had a breakthrough...
