Chaos Heaven-Dominating Technique

Chapter 527 - 523: A Bad Premonition

"RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE..." Just as Shen Bowen prepared to leave, a sound suddenly erupted from the nearby woods. Several powerful auras were rapidly approaching.

"On guard!" Hearing the commotion from the woods, the faces of the Shen Family members immediately turned grim. ’Besides us, the only other people in these back mountains are the disciples from Fallen Valley. The newcomers are most likely those black-robed disciples who want to annihilate our family!’

"WHOOSH..." A moment later, several figures flew out from the woods. The Shen Family immediately launched a coordinated assault, sending streaks of multicolored Spiritual Power hurtling toward them.

"Old Sir Shen, hold your fire! It’s us!" The figures dodged the incoming attacks while shouting out.

"People from the Liu Family? Liu Xiahui?" Hearing the shout, Old Sir Shen was taken aback. He quickly yelled, "Halt!"

After the Shen Family members halted their attack, Liu Xiahui emerged from the woods, leading several Martial Artists from the Liu Family.

"Old Sir Shen, no need to be alarmed. We’re here to help you!" Liu Xiahui said with a light chuckle as he emerged from the woods and saw the wary expressions on the faces of the Shen Family.

"Help us? Are you aware of our Shen Family’s current situation? Why should we believe you?" Old Sir Shen said in a low voice, staring intently at Liu Xiahui.

"Old Sir Shen, we are well aware of the Shen Family’s situation. To say you’re in imminent danger would be an understatement," Liu Xiahui said with a confident expression, as if he had expected the question. "However, it is precisely because of your family’s current predicament that we are here. And right now, you have no other choice but to trust us!"

Upon hearing Liu Xiahui’s words, Old Sir Shen’s expression instantly darkened. It sounded as if Liu Xiahui was gloating over their misfortune.

"Don’t be angry, Old Sir Shen. I’m only speaking the truth. To wipe you out completely, those Martial Artists from Fallen Valley have not hesitated to set the mountain ablaze. You have no way to retreat now, do you?" Liu Xiahui said coolly, glancing at the spreading sea of fire below.

At his words, the members of the Shen Family fell silent. Liu Xiahui was right; they truly were at the end of their rope. Their only alternative to trusting him was to walk to their deaths.

"You say you can help us? How? Can you get all of us out of here?" Old Sir Shen asked, his gaze fixed on Liu Xiahui.

"No, we can’t do that! The ones attacking you are from Fallen Valley, an Overlord-Level power in the Northern Domain. My Liu Family can’t afford to provoke them. The help we’re offering is limited to smuggling out a few Shen Family disciples without alerting Fallen Valley, preserving a bloodline for your family! Of course, I can guarantee their absolute safety!" Liu Xiahui pledged.

Hearing Liu Xiahui’s words, Old Sir Shen’s brow furrowed. "What do you want from us?" he asked in a low voice. "I don’t believe you’re doing this for nothing. Otherwise, why would you risk your own family’s annihilation by Fallen Valley just to help us?" Old Sir Shen was deeply confused. ’The Shen Family has nothing left and could be destroyed at any moment. What on earth could the Liu Family be after?’

"If I told you I’m helping because our families have been friends for generations, would you believe me, Old Sir Shen?" Liu Xiahui said with a soft laugh.

"Alright, Old Sir Shen, we’re running out of time," Liu Xiahui urged, not waiting for a reply. "If you don’t make a decision soon, we’ll have to leave. After all, I don’t want to drag the Liu Family into this!"

Hearing Liu Xiahui’s words, Old Sir Shen’s face remained hesitant. A moment later, however, his gaze hardened, and he nodded at Liu Xiahui. ’In this situation, I have no choice but to trust him. If Shen Bowen leads the disciples into the Profound Spirit Mountain Range, their chances of survival are slim to none. The mountains are crawling with Spirit Beasts; with our disciples’ current strength, survival would be nearly impossible. Better to take a chance on Liu Xiahui. It might be their only hope.’

Afterward, Old Sir Shen selected a few disciples from among the Shen Family members and handed them over to Liu Xiahui.

"Remember this," Old Sir Shen said in a low voice, looking at their youthful faces. "Survive, no matter what. Find Shen Haoran, tell him of the shame we suffered today, and then... avenge us!"

"Grandfather..." The chosen disciples wiped the tears from their faces and nodded resolutely.

Watching the scene unfold, Liu Xiahui could only let out a long sigh. ’There’s not much more I can do. This is the best I can offer.’

"Old Sir Shen... I wish you good luck," Liu Xiahui said with a soft sigh. He then turned and left with the few Shen Family disciples.

Staring at Liu Xiahui’s retreating figure until it disappeared, Old Sir Shen took a deep breath, suppressing the grief in his heart. ’I’m not asking for much now. As long as the Shen Family’s bloodline survives, that’s enough.’

"Everyone, get ready!" Old Sir Shen roared, his face a mask of determination. "We’re going to hold these bastards back and buy Liu Xiahui some time!"

"Yes, sir!" the Shen Family shouted in unison. The fear on their faces was gone, replaced by a ruthless glint in their eyes—men, women, old, and young alike. ’Today, we will crush every last person who has slaughtered our kin!’

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!" The words had barely left their mouths when several dark figures erupted from the raging sea of fire, landing before the Shen Family. They were the Martial Artists of Fallen Valley.

"Hmph. A pack of rats. You certainly made me work to find you," the Fifth Elder at the head of the group said coldly, his gaze sweeping over the Shen Family.

"Fifth Elder, enough talk! Let’s just kill them all! How dare they try to fool us!" one of the Fallen Valley disciples roared.

"Bring it on!" Old Sir Shen roared, charging forward first. "Even if we die today, we’ll make sure you don’t get away unscathed!"

"Hmph. Still daring to resist? Kill them!" Seeing Old Sir Shen take action, the Fifth Elder barked a cold order. The disciples behind him leaped forward, and the two sides clashed once more. In an instant, a storm of Spiritual Power erupted again...

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles from Cyan Mountain City, Shen Haoran was still seated cross-legged in the sky, his eyes closed in meditation. Suddenly, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, and his face turned deathly pale.

"What’s wrong, Shen the kid?" Elder Yan asked hurriedly, his expression changing.

"I don’t know," Shen Haoran said in a low voice, wiping the blood from his lips. "I just feel this... panic. I have a terrible feeling something has happened."

"Something happened?" Elder Yan grunted.

"This is bad. I have to get back to Cyan Mountain City right away. I think the Shen Family is in trouble!" Shen Haoran’s brow furrowed. Without waiting for Elder Yan to reply, the Vermilion Bird Wings on his back unfurled. His body transformed into a black streak of light and shot toward Cyan Mountain City at top speed...
