Shen Haoran watched Liu Yan's retreating back, his face expressionless. He had just arrived at the Medicine Hall, yet he'd already given the Hall Master and his Direct Disciple a harsh scolding. Even though they had provoked him first, it was still rude for a guest to behave that way, so he had decided to lend Liu Yan a hand. Whether the young man could grasp the lesson was entirely up to him. Fortunately, Liu Yan hadn't lost hope in Alchemy and had come to his senses.

"Thank you, Young Friend Shen. Otherwise, my Medicine Hall would have lost a talented Alchemist!" Seeing Liu Yan come to his senses, Hall Master Hong cupped his fist toward Shen Haoran and spoke with a wry smile. Liu Yan's Talent was indeed quite good; he was just normally arrogant and proud. The Hall Master knew he had been negligent in his guidance, which was why Liu Yan had gone astray. Fortunately, Shen Haoran had knocked some sense into him today.

Shen Haoran merely chuckled softly without replying. Hall Master Hong didn't mind and led him to the Medicine Hall's reception room.

Hall Master Hong poured Shen Haoran a cup of tea. "May I ask your name, Young Friend, and who is your master?" he asked softly. He was extremely interested in the teacher behind an Alchemist who could identify so many problems based on Pill Fragrance alone.

"My name is Shen Haoran," he said casually, taking a light sip of tea. "As for my master, he has always described himself as a free-roaming spirit, without any particular name."

Hearing Shen Haoran's reluctance to discuss his master, Hall Master Hong didn't press further. Instead, he shifted the topic to Shen Haoran himself. "Oh... in that case, Young Friend Shen, are you really just a Fourth Grade Alchemist?" he asked doubtfully. Hall Master Hong found it hard to believe that someone who could identify so many issues with Liu Yan's Alchemy based on Pill Fragrance alone was merely a Fourth Grade Alchemist.

"That's right! See? This is the Alchemist Badge the Pill Hall issued to me." As he spoke, Shen Haoran once again took out his Alchemist Badge and handed it to Hall Master Hong.

Staring at the four brightly shining stars on the Alchemist Badge, Hall Master Hong was left speechless. 'Can a mere Fourth Grade Alchemist from the Pill Hall now identify issues in another's Alchemy just from the Pill Fragrance? Just how far has the Human Race's Pill Hall advanced over the years?'

Unaware of the Hall Master's inner turmoil, Shen Haoran stated his purpose. "Hall Master Hong, I heard that one needs authorization to purchase Spirit Medicine from the Demon Race. Do you think you could write one for me?"

"Spirit Medicine? You want to buy Spirit Medicine, Young Friend Shen?" Hearing this, Hall Master Hong patted his chest and declared, "No problem! Just write down what you need, and I'll personally procure it for you!"

"Then I must thank you, Hall Master Hong!" Shen Haoran's face lit up. 'With the Medicine Hall Master's help, this should be much more convenient.' He immediately handed the prepared Pill Recipe to Hall Master Hong.

Hall Master Hong took the Pill Recipe from Shen Haoran. After reading it carefully, his brow furrowed. He glanced at Shen Haoran and asked, "Young Friend Shen, are you injured?"

"It's just a minor injury," Shen Haoran said casually, waving his hand dismissively. "Can you gather these Spirit Medicines as soon as possible, Hall Master Hong?"

"I can," Hall Master Hong said after a moment of thought. "However, some of these Spirit Medicines aren't available in White Fox City. I can have them transferred from Medicine Halls in other cities. Give me three days, and I guarantee I will have them all for you!"

"Three days?" Shen Haoran nodded. "Alright, then. I'll come back in three days to pick them up. I'll leave it in your hands, Hall Master Hong."

Seeing that Shen Haoran intended to leave, Hall Master Hong quickly said, "Are you leaving, Young Friend Shen? Humans aren't permitted to roam freely in White Fox City. Why don't you just wait here at the Medicine Hall?"

"Thank you for your kind offer, Hall Master Hong, but I have other business to attend to. Farewell!" Shen Haoran said, shaking his head to decline. He then walked out of the Medicine Hall under Hall Master Hong's watchful gaze.

Gazing at the bustling crowd, Shen Haoran's eyes swept over several hidden spots. He then muttered to himself, 'They still haven't left? Looks like it's time to give them a little warning.'

With that, Shen Haoran started walking, and the figures behind him immediately followed. After a few streets, he led the group into a deserted alley.

"Come on out," Shen Haoran said coolly, stopping in his tracks and addressing the empty space behind him. "Aren't you tired after following me for so long?"

When Shen Haoran finished speaking, there was no sound or movement from behind him, as if he were just talking to thin air.

"Refusing to come out? Then don't blame me for what happens next!" Seeing there was still no movement, Shen Haoran snorted coldly. Spiritual Thought immediately began to surge from his Sea of Consciousness, forming tentacles that shot out to probe several spots in the alley.

A moment later, several pained cries rang out from the alley. "What is this thing?! GET IT OFF ME!" The tentacles of Spiritual Thought retracted, dragging several Martial Artists in the uniform of the Bai Family Army out into the open.

Staring at Shen Haoran's indifferent face, the men from the Bai Family Army felt their hearts tremble. His icy gaze made them feel as if they had been plunged into a freezing cavern, and even their breathing grew ragged.

"People from the Bai Family?" Shen Haoran said coldly, staring at the soldiers. "Go back and tell Bai Hong that I have no interest in your Bai Family. Tell him not to provoke me again. Otherwise, I won't mind joining this conflict, and you will have to bear the consequences!"

"Get lost!" Shen Haoran retracted his aura. The soldiers from the Bai Family Army gave him one last, deep look before hastily fleeing the alley and rushing back toward the Bai Family estate.

"Tch, looks like trouble's on its way," Shen Haoran sighed as he watched the soldiers retreat. But then he shook his head. He wasn't one to fear trouble. 'I hope they don't push their luck. Otherwise, I definitely won't let them off easy!'

Shen Haoran then withdrew his gaze, and in a flash, his figure vanished.

「A short while later」

Inside the Bai Family's council hall, the Martial Artists who had been following Shen Haoran knelt on one knee before Bai Hong, relaying the young man's message.

"Is that really what that Human Race brat said?" Bai Hong asked, his expression dark.

"Yes. He said you should watch your step."

"Hmph, what arrogance!" Bai Hong snorted. However, his expression quickly changed. After a moment of thought, he said, "Ignore him for now. We must first secure the marriage between Lady Ya and the Vajra Ape Race. As long as their Prince and Lady Ya consummate the union, the Vajra Ape Race won't be able to back out!"

"You are wise, my lord!" the Martial Artists said, fawning over him.

"And what of the arrangements I told you to make?" Bai Hong asked with a cold snort.

"Rest assured, my lord. Lady Ya has already been drugged and delivered to the Vajra Ape Prince's chambers," one of the Martial Artists said with a lewd grin. "Soon enough, she will be his woman!"

"Well done," Bai Hong nodded in satisfaction. "Once this matter is settled, you will all be handsomely rewarded!"

Upon hearing this, the faces of the Martial Artists lit up with joy. The council hall was thick with the stench of conspiracy…
