Chapter 568 563: Lady Ya is in Trouble

Shen Haoran was wandering aimlessly down a bustling, noisy street when suddenly, two more presences entered the range of his Spiritual Thought.

'More of them?' Sensing the two presences, Shen Haoran's brows furrowed tightly. A blur flickered under his feet, and in an instant, he vanished from his spot.

After Shen Haoran disappeared, two figures darted out from the crowd and began looking around everywhere, seemingly searching for him. A hint of anxiety was visible on their faces.

"Are you looking for me?" A faint voice suddenly sounded from behind them. Immediately after, Shen Haoran reached out, grabbed them both, and said coldly, "Didn't I make myself clear? I have no interest whatsoever in your Bai Family. If you dare to follow me again, I don't mind making the Bai Family suffer a little!"

"Cough, cough... Brother Shen, it's us!" A moment later, however, two familiar voices came from the pair Shen Haoran was holding, startling him.

"Da Mao and Er Mao, what are you two doing here? Why aren't you with your Sister Ya? What are you running around for!" Shen Haoran turned them around to face him. Staring at the two familiar faces, he couldn't help but roll his eyes. He had thought it was the Bai Family Army again.

"WAAAH... Brother Shen... Something's happened to Sister Ya!" Hearing Shen Haoran mention Lady Ya, Da Mao and Er Mao could no longer hold it in and burst into tears right there on the street. This drew sideways glances from the crowd, who seemed to think Shen Haoran was abusing children.

"Alright, alright, stop crying first. Tell me what happened." Seeing the two of them burst into tears without another word, Shen Haoran felt a headache coming on. He asked them gently as his Spiritual Thought surged from his Sea of Consciousness, enveloping them and slowly calming their emotions.

"We saw Sister Ya fall asleep after eating the meal the Bai Family sent. Then a few big men carried her away! We heard them say something about sending her to some Prince. Do you think... do you think Sister Ya is never coming back? Does she not want us anymore?" Da Mao and Er Mao said, tears and snot streaming down their faces.

Hearing this, Shen Haoran's brows knitted tightly, and his pupils contracted as he seemed to understand something. 'When Da Mao and Er Mao said Lady Ya "fell asleep," she must have been drugged. As for being sent to some Prince, that must be the Prince of the Vajra Ape Race. I don't know why the Prince of the Vajra Ape Race is at the Bai Family's estate, but for the Bai Family to resort to such methods to subdue Lady Ya... could it be that she didn't agree to the marriage alliance?'

At that thought, Shen Haoran immediately dismissed the idea. 'Lady Ya came here specifically for the marriage alliance, so why would she refuse it? And if she already agreed, why would the Bai Family still treat her like this? Do they really not have a shred of conscience?'

A surge of fury suddenly rose in Shen Haoran's heart. 'Such a simple, kind-hearted girl. To fulfill her mother's last wish, she was willing to return to the family that abandoned her and drove her mother to her death, all to enter a marriage alliance on their behalf. And now, that same family is scheming against her like this!'

"I understand. Your Sister Ya would never abandon you. I'll bring her back!" Shen Haoran said, patting Da Mao and Er Mao on the head to comfort them.

"Really?" Hearing Shen Haoran's words, Da Mao and Er Mao stopped crying and looked at him with expectant faces.

"Of course. You two go back now and act like nothing happened. Your Sister Ya will be back tonight," Shen Haoran instructed in a low voice.

"Okay!" Hearing this, Da Mao and Er Mao nodded emphatically, then skipped off toward the Bai Family estate.

Watching Da Mao and Er Mao's retreating figures, Shen Haoran's expression gradually turned cold and grim. He murmured to himself, "The Bai Family, is it? It looks like I'll have to wade into these muddy waters after all!" With that, a blur flickered under his feet, and he vanished from his spot.

...

At that moment, in a private room somewhere in the Bai Family estate, Lady Ya lay quietly on the bed like a sleeping beauty.

BANG...

A moment later, the door to the quiet room was suddenly kicked open, and a drunken youth stumbled in from outside. To call him a youth was perhaps inaccurate. This "youth" was covered in golden fur, with thick arms and massive nostrils. He looked just like an ape—no, he *was* an ape. This was the Prince of the Vajra Ape Race, Jin Zhengtian!

Jin Zhengtian walked into the room and let out a heavy, drunken burp, filling the air with the thick stench of alcohol. He casually shut the door and staggered further inside. He had just heard from Bai Hong that a "surprise" had been prepared for him.

Once inside, Jin Zhengtian immediately spotted Lady Ya lying on the bed, and his eyes instantly locked onto her, wide and unblinking.

"Who... who are you!" Lady Ya asked in a low voice. She tried to move, but she found that her body was completely numb, as if she were nailed to the bed. She couldn't move an inch.

"I'm the one who's going to kill you," Jin Zhengtian said, wiping the drool from the corner of his mouth.

"Kill me? This is the Bai Family estate! I'm a member of the Bai Family!" Seeing that Jin Zhengtian was about to make his move, Lady Ya's eyes grew frantic. She couldn't circulate her Spiritual Power at all, nor could she move her body. Her only option was to try and threaten him.

"You can stop struggling. This was all arranged by your Bai Family's second uncle, Bai Hong. You could scream your lungs out, and no one would come to help you," Jin Zhengtian sneered.

But at this, Lady Ya seemed to show no reaction. Her eyes were vacant, her mind a complete blank. She just muttered under her breath, "Why? Why...?" She couldn't understand. She had clearly already agreed to the marriage alliance, so why was the Bai Family still doing this to her?

Jin Zhengtian lunged. But at that very moment, a blast of sharp, Powerful Qi shot toward him, grazing past his arm. The keen Sword Aura left a deep gash on his limb. Then, a quiet voice echoed in the room.

"Pardon the intrusion. I seem to have left something here and would like to retrieve it. You don't mind, do you?"
