Zade was socializing with the other people while keeping his mate within his sight. Seara was having a good time with Neriah, eating the food and watching the performance.
On the platform, there were three beautiful women showcasing aerial dance. They were moving gracefully and beautifully, as if they were floating in the air with colorful robes.
Seara had never seen anything like this performance in person before. She remembered that the first time she saw it was on TV, but Brigid would change the channel when she saw Seara enjoying the show.
"Seara, come on! Let’s join Jeremy and meet his friends," Neriah said excitedly. However, Seara was reluctant.
She didn’t want to socialize with more people. The fact that so many people in the room wanted to talk to her was already overwhelming.
If it were not for Leia and Caspian, who warded them off, she would be crowded by those women, who were very curious about her background.
Seara didn’t know what Leia and Caspian said, but they stopped coming to her and simply stared at her from a distance, which was great; it made Seara less nervous.
Jane was also there; she came to Seara once to greet and encourage her, saying that she was doing great, but now Seara didn’t know where she had wandered off.
"Come on, Seara." Neriah had been whining for Seara to join Jeremy’s group of friends. "Come on."
"I don’t know them," Seara said. She was running out of excuses to turn Neriah down. She wanted to enjoy her time here, watching the performance, until the party ended.
"That’s why we need to know them."
"Why?" Seara frowned; she became a little bit annoyed because Neriah was being persistent. "Do you like Jeremy?"
Neriah looked flustered when Seara asked her that. She bit her lips, and she blushed.
"You do?" Seara felt her stomach churn; for some reason, she didn’t like it. Even now, she still couldn’t get rid of this uncomfortable feeling about Neriah. She couldn’t tell for sure why she felt this way toward Neriah, but something about her didn’t feel right.
"Can you get me close to Jeremy? He is very nice to me."
"You just met him today," Seara reminded her.
"Yes, but... he is a gentleman," Neriah giggled sheepishly. "I know I will not have a chance to be with him, knowing that our statuses are so far apart. He is royalty, and I am a pheasant, but at least I want to be friends with him. Can you help me, Seara?"
Seara didn’t look down on Neriah. She never did. However, the idea of her getting close to Jeremy made her feel uneasy somehow.
Seara didn’t want Neriah to be anywhere near Jeremy.
But she couldn’t think of an excuse to turn her down; thus, when Neriah took her to join Jeremy and his friend, she could only follow her.
"Why are you here?" Jeremy raised his brows when he saw Seara approach his table with his friends. He looked around and found Zade was staring straight at him.
"I..." Seara wanted to say something, but one of the men immediately prepared a seat for her and Neriah, and he was the man who gave Seara an uncomfortable feeling.
"I am Oliver, Jeremy’s friend," Oliver said with a sweet smile as he let Seara sit next to him, between him and Jeremy, while Neriah was on the opposite side of her.
Seara felt uncomfortable with the position they were sitting, but she saw Neriah was already having a great conversation with the other man.
In total, there were four men at the table, including Jeremy, and now the other two had their attention on Neriah, while Oliver chatted with her and Jeremy furrowed his brows.
"I am Seara," Seara replied, fidgeting with her fingers, and then turned to Jeremy, but Oliver kept chatting with her.
"So, you are Zade Blaze’s fiancée? It is a surprise because Mr. Blaze has never been with another woman. His appearances in public can be counted by a single hand. May I know which family you are coming from?"
"Enough with the questions, Oliver," Jeremy groaned. He threw Seara a look as if saying, ’You shouldn’t be here.’
Hell, Seara didn’t want to be there either.
"Hey, we are friends here; why are you being rude?" Oliver punched Jeremy’s arm lightly. "Can’t we be friends?"
"Oh, hi, we met again." Olivia suddenly approached their table. Then she took a chair to join them. "I am sorry for our last encounter. I was a little bit rude, but can we start it over again?" Olivia stretched out her hand. "I am Olivia."
Seara didn’t like this woman. She came to her so casually, as if she had never confronted her in the toilet, and if it had not been for Leia, who checked on her, Seara knew what would have happened next; after all, that was not the first time she was in that kind of situation.
"Seara," Seara replied, but she didn’t take Olivia’s hand, which made it a little bit awkward for her. Seara could see the anger that rose behind her pretty makeup. She let loose of her blonde hair, which cascaded down on her shoulders beautifully.
Stiffly, Olivia took back her hand; she lifted her chin, as if to preserve her dignity after the humiliation.
"Are you still angry with me?" Olivia asked, pursing her lips. "It was only a misunderstanding. You don’t hold a grudge, right?"
"No," Seara replied curtly.
"Okay, that’s enough." Oliver pressed his hand on his sister’s thigh, warning her to stop. "If my sister has offended you, I apologize on her behalf."
Seara didn’t reply to that; she didn’t like Oliver either, though he didn’t do anything to her.
"Why don’t we continue the party somewhere else? I think this becomes a little bit boring," Oliver suggested. "Both of you can come with us; how is that?"
Neriah agreed to that excitedly. "Sure!"
