Ace asked Neriah a few questions about Seara, but she was also clueless about why the former Gamma Javen would adopt her.
"I think it is almost like a tacit understanding among the pack members not to treat her well," Neriah said. "The former Gamma Javen is someone in a high rank; therefore, no one would try to upset him by doing something that contradicted him."
Neriah explained that she was just an omega in the pack, so people didn’t pay attention to her. Additionally, being friends with an omega was an embarrassment, so being able to befriend only Neriah and Eira was a different form of mockery for Seara.
Ace fell into silence for a while before asking her again. "And why are you here?"
"I feel bad for Seara. I wanted to visit her in the cell, but I couldn’t. I am only an omega, and the rule is very strict; I can’t disobey the alpha and the elders." Neriah covered her face. She was crying softly. "My parents died in a car accident; both of them didn’t make it. I don’t have anyone else in that pack, and I don’t want to be there anymore."
Ace mind-linked the nearby warriors to confirm this story. There must be some kind of information if it was a car accident.
"I have severed ties with the Blackthorne Pack. Please, accept me into your pack. I will help with Seara. I will help until she recovers. I will be her personal maid; I don’t mind." Neriah put down her hands that covered her tear-stricken face. "Please, I know she is not well. No one will be fine after what she had gone through. I can be her friend. We are friends."
Ace felt something was off, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, because it was already late, he asked an omega to prepare a room for Neriah.
"This is only for the time being; the final decision will be up to King Zade." Ace loosened his tie. He was tired, but there were a lot of things that he had to do.
"Yes, yes. Thank you so much for reconsidering it. I really appreciated it, Royal Beta Ace." Neriah bent her body slightly, showing her gratitude.
However, Ace didn’t stay to watch her bow down to him. He went to his building and freshened up before he called Zade again.
Thankfully, this time Zade picked up the call, and Ace told him everything.

Seara woke up with a start. She immediately sat down and looked around, thinking she was still inside the dirty cell at the outskirts of her pack.
But then her eyes caught the sight of Zade, and her entire body visibly relaxed. Her shoulders sagged, and she started to cry.
"I am here." Zade hugged her tightly, letting her cry against his chest. She was losing weight again, and he could feel that.
It had been a week since Seara came here, but she didn’t show any progress. Whenever Zade was there, she would plead for him to take her away from the hospital. She didn’t want to be there, and it was getting hard for Zade to turn down her plea.
He would give her everything and do anything for her. But he couldn’t do the one thing she wanted most right now.
Jane said it was not good for him to see her all the time since Seara needed to figure things out on her own, without depending on Zade.
Zade could still see Seara, but Jane limited the time so that Seara could focus on other things besides Zade.
"Do you hate me?" Seara lifted her head, her hazel eyes blurred with tears, as she looked at him.
"Not in a million years, Love. I am far too fond of you to ever do that." Zade kissed her forehead gently. "Why do you think like that?"
Seara bit her lip; she seemed restless to answer, but Zade freed her lip from between her teeth. He gently pinched her chin and lifted her head, so their eyes met.
"Because I am crazy," Seara said in a small, whispery tone. She looked afraid and almost apologetic for being insane.
"You are not crazy, Love. You are sick. That’s why you are here so we can find the cure for it."
"Can I heal?"
"You will get better."
"What if I will not?"
Zade pressed gentle kisses on both of her eyes. He tasted her tears. "I will love you regardless."
"Will you get bored of me? What if you don’t want me anymore?" Seara dreaded the thought; simply imagining it alone made her heart beat so fast, Zade must be able to hear it.
"Get bored of you?" Zade let out a genuine chuckle. "Never." He had spent so many centuries in this boring life; how could he get bored of his mate?
"Really?"
"I will always want you. You are my favorite part of the day."
Seara was the piece that Zade craved in this chaotic world.

"You dyed your hair." Zephyr raised his brows when he saw Ace get out of the car with Neriah, while the royal beta glared at him.
That was not a question, since Zephyr had a hunch that Ace would do this after he learned what made Seara freak out whenever he was nearby.
However, Ace actually did it because he didn’t want to be a resemblance of those filthy warriors.
"Who helped you choose the color?" Zephyr touched Ace’s hair, but he swatted his hand away.
"Don’t touch me." Ace gestured for Neriah to follow him. "Chloe."
Ace was clueless when it came to this matter, and the only person that he knew who always changed their hair color was Chloe.
Even when he met her the last time, her hair color had changed to blue.
"Oh, so she chose this color for you?" Zephyr teased him and then laughed at his own joke. "Are you her new target?"
