"How was your day?" Zade asked. He kissed her forehead when he arrived before dinner, just like he had promised her.

"Great!" Seara was happy to see Zade.

Because tomorrow Neriah still had to go to work, she didn’t stay for dinner. She had returned before Zade and the royal beta came home.

Meanwhile, Ace, behind him, looked as if he had gone through a very rigorous training. It was understandable if you learned that the poor royal beta had to pack five important meetings within less than eight hours, since Zade promised to go home before dinner.

A five-hour meeting was shortened to two hours because Zade hurried them, which meant the other four meetings had to be packed into the remaining timeframe.

They just finished the meetings, but it felt as if they had just done a marathon instead.

"What happened with you? Did you just see a ghost?" Zephyr had just come. He visited the bungalow like clockwork; whenever it was close to dinner time, he would appear from whatever corner he emerged from.

However, Ace didn’t answer the question; he glared at Zephyr instead. He was too tired to reply.

"Do you want to eat here?" Seara asked from the kitchen; she poked her head into the living room.

"Of course, I do!" Zephyr replied happily. "I always eat here, right?"

"I am not asking you," Seara laughed at Zephyr. "I asked Ace. Do you want to eat here?"

Ace turned his head and looked at Seara, but he declined the offer. "No, thank you. I will eat at my house." And then he stood up; he had to get to his building quickly before dinner started.

"Oh, okay." Seara tried to make an effort to get to know Ace, but he was not as chatty as Zephyr; after all, he didn’t talk much.

"Come to the main house; everyone wants to know you," Ace said. He intended this as an invitation, but it sounded like he was annoyed that Seara turned down the invitation, since Zade had asked her the same thing before.

"I will." Seara lowered her head.

"No pressure," Ace added before he left the house. He shifted and then went to his building in his wolf form.

"Let’s go! Let’s eat! I am hungry!" Zephyr tapped Seara’s shoulder lightly to get her attention.

"Is he angry with me?" Seara couldn’t help but asked.

"Of course not; that expression is his default setting. Don’t think too much about it. That’s how he looked whenever he talked with someone."

"Oh." Seara was slightly relieved to hear that.

Goodness, thankfully Zade was her mate. If the way Ace reacted was already bothering her, she couldn’t imagine how it would be if it were Zade.

Seara had seen the way Zade looked at other people and how he looked at her; the stark contrast was undeniable.

"I heard you want to go beyond the garden?" Zade asked. He sat down on the bed and handed Seara a glass of water. Then, he carefully helped her open five different medication containers one by one.

Seara grimaced when she heard the question and took her medication from Zade’s hand and drank all of it.

"I am sorry. I saw a tall building behind the garden, and I was curious." Seara didn’t bring up that it was Neriah who noticed the building first, because she didn’t want her to get into trouble.

"Hey, I am not angry with you," Zade said softly when he saw guilt across her face. "I have not told you that area is forbidden. It’s not your fault." He kissed her forehead.

"Why is it forbidden?"

Zade didn’t give her a definitive answer; instead, when he replied, it was vague. "You can go anywhere here, but not that area. Can you do that?"

Zade didn’t raise his voice. He wouldn’t do that to his mate, but his voice was stern and firm. He meant it for Seara to stay away from that place.

"Okay."

"Good." Zade took the empty glass from Seara’s hand when she was done drinking all of her medicine. "Let’s get to sleep. I will show you another part of the residence tomorrow."

"Which part?" Seara asked.

"The main building. Do you want to go there?"

Seara nodded as she snuggled into Zade’s arms. "I want to have dinner with the others," she said all of a sudden.

"No need to think too much about what Ace said; we can do it another time. There is no rush." Zade kissed, brushed away her hair from her neck, and pressed a gentle kiss on her sweet spot. The urge to mark her was torture, but for him to sleep in the separate room when he knew Seara liked to be close to him was not an option either.

"I want... I want to know the people around you..." Seara breathed heavily when Zade licked her neck. He grew restless every night, and she knew what he wanted, yet Zade had never crossed the line, and he never asked either. "Jane said it’s good if I try to interact with other people."

Zade lifted his head slightly; his blue eyes were slightly darkened, and when he spoke, his voice was hoarse. "Are you sure?"

Seara nodded.

"I will arrange that. We will have dinner with them after we visit the main building." Zade intended for Seara to acclimate to the main building first before he moved her there.

This bungalow was so small; it couldn’t accommodate all the things that Zade bought for his mate. That’s why all of her belongings were in the main building, sitting beautifully in a spacious room.

Even so, Seara loved wearing his jacket and shirt the most, especially when he was not around.

"Okay," Seara said, as she cupped his face with her palm and took the initiative to kiss him.

The kiss started gently and carefully, but then Zade was restless, and the kiss became demanding and intimidating.
