This must be the first time Zade saw Seara in a high spirit; she talked a lot, and he adored this side of her. He learned that she was not quiet at all when she was comfortable.
"He pulled my hair, but it did not hurt. It is like this." Seara then pulled Zade’s hair. "He thought I was going to take his mother. I think he felt that way because he is adopted too, just like me."
"Still, he can’t pull your hair." Zade braided Seara’s long hair absentmindedly. "Do you have difficulty being around other people?"
Seara thought about that for a while and then shook her head. "If I’m not left alone and if I’m with someone who I’m comfortable with, I think I will be fine."
"Hm." Zade looked at her; her hazel eyes lit up. She looked healthy, and her rosy cheeks were no longer hollow. His mate was the most beautiful creature that he had ever seen, and Zade had seen a lot in his long life. "Can you come with me to a party next week? I want to introduce you as my woman."
Seara didn’t immediately answer that; she looked concerned. "How many people will be there?" She asked worriedly.
"At least five hundred people." Zade didn’t want to lie or sweeten his words to give her a false sense of comfort.
"Five hundred people? Humans and shifters?"
"Yes. Both. This is a company annual party. You don’t need to talk with them all; Zephyr will be there with you and Leia, too." Zade put his hands on her thigh and caressed her gently. "Do you want to bring Neriah too so you will have a friend to talk to?"
"Can I? Is it okay?"
"Of course."
Zade was the one who hosted the annual party for the company. So, even if Seara wanted to come with a tiara and all or pajamas and Reaper by her side, he would be fine with that.
"I would love that." Seara leaned over and kissed Zade on the lips. She was literally sprawling on top of him, and Zade liked every bit of it.
"Go on a date with me tomorrow?" Zade said against her ear.
"Date?" Seara lifted her head and looked at Zade. She had never been this happy before.
"I promised to take you to watch a movie, didn’t I?" Zade kissed her knuckles. "Do you want to go on a date with me?"
"Yes!" Seara grinned from ear to ear and hugged him again. "You make my life very happy."
"That’s the purpose of my existence, Love."
Zade was rather pissed in the meeting this morning because some of the people had the audacity to refuse Seara as his mate.
They didn’t know the details of it, but apparently, they had done their digging and discovered Seara was an adoptive daughter from the Blackthorne Pack’s gamma family, and she had lost her wolf spirit.
In their opinion, someone like him needed a strong woman to be by his side, like Chloe. They also were so bold as to think Chloe should be the queen for the Shadow Blood Lycan Kingdom and used Seara as the side woman.
That was an insult to Zade’s face. No Lycan had a side woman while they were bonded to their mate.
Needless to say, those three alphas were in trouble for their comments.
Hiding his mate? The hell would Zade hide Seara? The packs and all the shifters under his kingdom should understand that he was not playing when it came to his woman.
The Silver Moon Pack, the River Creek Pack, and the Iron Fangs Pack—it seemed it was time for a shift in power among the packs of werewolves.
Zade glanced at Seara, who had fallen asleep on his chest. Her head was tucked comfortably under his chin, and he had a difficult time reaching out for his phone on the bedside table and called for Ace.
"I want you to keep your eyes on the Brooks family," Zade said.
There was a slight pause. "Is it about this afternoon?" He heard what happened from his mother during dinner. It was well-known that his mother was someone who loved to chat a lot.
"Yes."
"They are just kids."
"Should I handle it myself?"
"Fine, got it." Ace didn’t mean to defend the Brooks family, but occasionally, Zade’s method could be extreme. It was particularly true when Zade was the one handling the situation.
And after Zade hung up the call with Ace, he called Zephyr, who apparently had his sweet time with some women at a bar.
"Have you found him?" Zade could hear loud music in the background, and a few women laughed coquettishly.
"Not yet, I am still looking for some clue about his whereabouts," Zephyr told the women to shut up, because he couldn’t hear Zade.
Zade had asked Zephyr to look for Daven, because there was no way he could disappear without any trace at all. With the appearance of Belial, it felt too much to be merely a coincidence.
"Hello? Zade?" Zephyr looked at his phone screen and realized that Zade had cut the call, so it was not that he couldn’t hear him. "At least say bye-bye before you cut the call. So cold."

Neriah looked at her reflection in the mirror and then at Daven, who was sitting in the wheelchair behind him. She smirked to see the frown on his face.
"What? You are still not used to seeing this?" Neriah asked with her sweet voice, but it only made Daven shudder.
"How—how could you do that? What about the real Neriah?" Daven didn’t believe that he got entangled with the real demon. He was so desperate that he agreed to anything. Everything, including selling his soul.
"Why do you care about her?" Neriah tilted her head innocently. "Let’s get it done, shall we?" She nodded at the unconscious man on the bed.
He was a man with blonde hair and a streak of brown hair.
