Chapter 71: Chapter 71 Interrogation
Wigan opened his eyes and immediately felt a sharp pain in his head. He looked around. He was inside an abandoned house.
He tried to remember what had happened before, and then he recalled his group encountering an invisible enemy and his head being slammed against the car.
He tried to move, but then noticed that he was tied tightly to a wooden chair.
"What is this?! Who tied me here?" he shouted.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching. He looked ahead and saw two silhouettes slowly coming toward him.
"Hey! Let me go! Let me go!" he shouted.
The silhouettes slowly became clearer. It was Lars and Max, both wearing wide grins as they approached him.
"You! Are you the ones who attacked us? How dare you use such a cheap trick to attack us!" Wigan shouted.
"Who wants to be the bad cop and the good cop?" Lars asked Max.
"Let me be the bad one! I’ve wanted to do this for a long time," Max said with a grin. He grabbed Wigan by the head and pulled it upward.
"Where did you take Celine?! Tell me, or I will do something nasty to you!" Max shouted.
"Huh! What can a kid like you do to me? Do you think I’m scared? Huh!" Wigan sneered.
"Then you’re the one asking for it." Max grabbed Wigan’s right hand and placed it on the armrest of the wooden chair. He then drew his sword and pointed the tip toward one of Wigan’s fingernails. Wigan suddenly held his breath and flinched.
"I will ask you again. Where did you take Celine?" Max asked.
"Go to hell!" Wigan shouted.
Max placed his sword against Wigan’s index fingernail. Then, with one swift motion, he ripped it away.
"AAARGHH!" Wigan screamed in agony.
His voice echoed throughout the abandoned hall. Blood began flowing from his injured finger. He clenched his teeth as he glared fiercely at Max while breathing heavily.
"We can make this quick if you just talk," Lars said.
But Wigan remained silent. Max then pulled out another of his nails.
"ARRRGHH!"
His screams continued to echo through the abandoned building as Max removed his nails one by one. When all the nails on Wigan’s hands were gone, Max continued with his toes until there wasn’t a single nail left on Wigan’s body. Wigan’s body trembled and drenched in sweat.
"This guy really doesn’t want to talk," Max said.
"Don’t worry. He will talk." Lars smiled before bringing out an arrow. He activated Healing Arrow and jabbed it into Wigan’s shoulder. A yellow light enveloped Wigan’s body. After several arrows, all of Wigan’s nails had completely regrown.
Wigan couldn’t believe his eyes. He had thought his torture would finally end. But instead, the process began again.
"Arghh!"
"Argghh!"
"Arrgghh!"
Wigan continued screaming as he endured the unbearable pain. After three rounds of having his nails removed and regrown, Wigan finally broke down.
"Okay! Okay! I will talk! So please... don’t remove my nails again!" Wigan cried. The pain had become too much for him to endure.
"They... they may have brought her to the Black Lotus Club... in District 50, in the West Region..." he said weakly.
"Good. If you had only told us earlier, you wouldn’t have had to suffer like this. Now stay here until the police arrive," Lars said. The two then walked away from the abandoned house and got into the car.
"Damn! I’ve never done something like that before," Max said.
"Me neither. I felt slightly bad for him. But he deserved it. Hopefully, he will learn from his mistake," Lars said.
The two then started moving. Their destination, is District 50. However suddenly, Max received a call.

Inside the Mazeltov office, the atmosphere was tense. All the members were gathered there. In the middle of the room, Ryuken stood facing Zane.
"Explain to me, Boss. Why don’t you want to help Lars?! I’m not satisfied with your decision!" Ryuken said.
"Hey, Ryuken. Calm down a little. That is our boss you’re shouting at," Oscar said as he tried to hold Ryuken back. He knew how scary Zane could be when she was angry, and he didn’t want to see that side of her.
"I’m doing this for our company. It isn’t worth putting our entire company in danger just to help a stranger," Zane explained.
"Although it sounds harsh, I agree with Boss," Vega said.
He folded his arms while leaning against the wall. He also wanted to help Lars. He thought Lars was an interesting guy. But right now, he was a member of Mazeltov, and he had to follow orders.
"Tch!" Ryuken clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Suddenly, Ryuken noticed the piece of paper with Max’s phone number on Zane’s table. He immediately remembered it.
"I want to get some fresh air." He then walked out of the office. As soon as he was outside, Ryuken pulled out his phone and called Max.
"Hello, Max. This is Ryuken."

A few minutes later, Max’s car arrived, and Ryuken immediately hopped in.
"Is it really okay for you to come with us, Ryuken? Does your boss know?" Lars asked.
"It’s fine. I will explain everything to her later. Now, what’s your plan?"
"We’re going to District 50 in the West Region. We’re going to raid their place," Lars said with a grin.
"That is crazy! But that’s exactly why I like you! Let’s go!" Ryuken said as he clenched his fist against his palm. The car then sped toward the Black Lotus Club.

It was now 3 a.m. Yet people were still constantly entering the Black Lotus Club. More cars arrived and filled the parking lot.
In front of the club, three men stood together, staring at the entrance.
"Let’s go inside and see if we can find Celine. Try not to stand out at first. If things go south, we have no other choice but to fight," Lars said.
"If White Feathers is there, all of you stay close to me. Now that I have the Clandestine Magi class, I believe I have a way to fight him," Lars explained.
"Clan...destine? What’s that?" Ryuken asked in confusion.
But Lars and Max had already started walking toward the entrance, with Ryuken following closely behind.
None of the people inside the club knew that tonight was about to become much more intense than usual.
