None of the four of them had long-range abilities. The best they had was Leora’s lightning burst, but Kreyn came up with another idea.

Spears were much better suited for throwing, but considering that Hargod was with them, a sword would serve just as well, as long as it was something sharp.

Clutch.

Hargod gripped the sword’s hilt tightly as his muscles trembled.

"So what’s your plan? Put as much energy as possible into it and kill their queen? Huh, I think I can do that. Sounds pretty simple!"

Groza had been fighting with this sword for a long time, and she knew how powerful the lightning blast was.

But... She still didn’t understand just how great the difference was between her and Hargod.

Crackle.

The first electrical discharge ran through the hilt, and a cascade of aggressive lightning bolts burst from the sword.

’What the...?’ Groza’s eyes widened in disbelief. ’I’ve never once managed to achieve such power.’

That wasn’t all.

Soon enough, the blade of the damaged sword began to heat up, taking on a distinctive red hue - the sword couldn’t withstand the power of the lightning born from Hargod’s energy.

"Alright, that’ll be enough. Forgive me, Queen, but Kreyn’s plan is too good to pass up!"

With a powerful stride, Hargod threw the heavy sword as if it were a featherlight spear.

In a bright flash, the sword streaked through the cave, unleashing the full might of the lightning upon the Rahta Queen.

Whoooooooosh!

In no time, a shadow plummeted from the ceiling. The Blue Beast stood before the Rahta Queen, ready to stop the sword.

Hargod grinned widely. He expected, no, he hoped this would happen.

"Hahaha! You should’ve shown yourself sooner! It’s too late now!"

The moment the Blue Beast stretched out its arms, the sword burned through its chest, striking its original target, the Rahta Queen, who didn’t even turn around, continuing to devour the crystals.

BLAST!

A blinding light engulfed the cave, leaving only the outlines of the monsters visible in the fleeing shadows while flames of lightning spread all around.

Rocks crashed down from the ceiling. Crystals and chunks of flesh flew in all directions, growing more intense with each wave of tremors.

Leora gulped. Even she couldn’t keep her composure as she looked at the aftermath of the explosion.

Nothing remained of the Rahta Queen except for one of her four glass wings. For some reason, it was completely unscathed, despite the destruction all around.

The Blue Beast was obliterated, and only half of its head lay to the side, while at the very epicenter of the explosion, a crater formed with wide cracks leading to the chambers.

Kreyn looked around. "They no longer have a queen or any flesh pods. They have access to Orazit, but they have no reason to stay here anymore."

Leora frowned.

"You sound so sure about that, but I don’t see them planning to leave. We may be the ones who have to run when they recover from the shock."

"You’ll see soon enough. The regular Rahta Beasts may not be very intelligent, but the same can’t be said for the others."

Soon, the last tremor subsided as more than a hundred of the Rahta Beasts opened their eyes at once.

"Damn it..." Leora grew wary, taking a step back.

However, neither Kreyn nor Hargod were going to leave.

Several Rahta Hunters emerged from the shadows. Like scouts, they sniffed the bloodstain left behind by the Queen.

Then, the Rahta Hunters stared at Hargod and Kreyn. Their eyes narrowed with anger and fear.

They were making a decision.

THUMP!

Hargod stomped his foot as his powerful voice boomed like thunder:

"COME ON! YOU BASTARDS! ATTACK ME OR RUN AWAY IN FEAR!"

It didn’t matter whether the Rahta Beasts understood what Hargod said or not. His message was clear in any language.

Groza’s face went pale. ’That idiot! He thinks with his muscles! He’s going to kill us all!’

But a smirk appeared on Kreyn’s face.

"Grk!"

"GRKKK!!!!"

The Rahta Hunters growled at each other before raising their heads and opening their jaws wide.

Ripple. Ripple. Ripple.

A tremor rippled through the air as more and more Rahta Beasts turned toward them.

’I see...’ Kreyn realized what was happening.

It was a special growl that humans couldn’t hear, which meant something important was happening.

"W-Wait..." Leora’s eyes widened in disbelief.

The Rahta Beasts, dozens of them, headed in the same direction, following the first Rahta Hunter. They were fleeing through the northern cave, and there was no one who would ignore this call.

The second Rahta Hunter cast a sharp glance at them before following the others, bringing up the rear.

Sure, they could stay here and keep absorbing energy from the Orazit, but where would that get them? Without the Queen, they would all die sooner or later, in battle or of old age, and a new generation would never be born.

"Now, the race for survival has begun for them." Kreyn stepped forward. "They won’t waste time on some crystals when they need to find a new queen."

"Tsk."

Leora clicked her tongue.

"You just got lucky. That was a risky move, just like last time!"

"Yes, and once again I was right. I think that’s something to think about, don’t you?"

She shot him a fiery glance, clenching her fists tightly.

"You bastard, who do you think you are?"

Tap.

Hargod’s hand fell on Leora’s shoulder, forcing her to turn around.

"Hey, let’s not fight. We pulled it off, after all!"

"B-But!"

Before Leora could say anything else, Hargod’s massive hand squeezed her shoulder even harder, making her face wince.

"S-Sure." Leora turned around. "Let’s check out the blast site."

"Great! Now that’s more like it!"

Hargod leaped down, and Kreyn followed him. He took a risk, but this time he was confident.

’Up until now, the Rahta Beasts had acted quite wisely, and if the Queen weren’t important to them, that blue one wouldn’t have tried to protect her.’

Step. Step. Step.

They walked along the cracks, approaching the crystal cone.

What interested Kreyn at that moment was the Rahta Queen’s gene. He hoped he could get it.

But...

’Wait.’ Kreyn blinked, confused.

He stood before a bloodstain, the only thing left of the Rahta Queen besides a glass wing.

"The gene isn’t here..." Kreyn muttered.

"Huh!" Hargod chuckled. "Of course not - there’s nothing left of those two! How could the gene possibly survive? If you wanted to get her gene, you should have come up with a different plan."

"No."

Kreyn shook his head.

"It’s fine. If a battle started, they would realize they had a chance, even the upper hand. We had to kill the queen with this attack. Otherwise, they would protect her."

"Indeed," Hargod agreed with a deep nod. "But I’m afraid we had to sacrifice something to do that."

Kreyn’s gaze fell on the iron shards - all that remained of Groza’s sword.

Groza stood to Kreyn’s left as his voice dropped to a whisper.

"Don’t worry. Soon you’ll have a new, more suitable weapon."

Groza didn’t know what Kreyn had in mind, but when she noticed Leora’s gauntlets, the realization suddenly struck her.

Step.

Kreyn stopped in front of the glass wing, lifting it off the ground with both hands.

Suddenly, a multitude of system messages appeared before him.
