His gaze was utterly hollow.

She looked down at the collapsing Colossus consciousness, shattered to less than a tenth of its former self, and a despairing sorrow rising from the depths of her being pierced through its entire life in an instant.

The string that had been taut for three thousand years seemed, at this moment, to finally be stretched to its limit.

His whole figure sagged as if it had suddenly crumpled.

Completely snapped.

“It’s okay! It’s okay!”

Lynn clamped down hard on its consciousness, controlling the Colossus's Heart, and said:

“I know you want to go home, you want to take your subjects out of this hell, but nothing happens all at once! As long as you’re still alive, there’s still hope of leaving. You’ve endured for three thousand years, you weren’t even afraid of death back then—are you going to be afraid to wait a little longer now?”

“As long as you’re alive, anything is possible! If you die, everything’s over! You haven’t found that Raven yet, the Upper World hasn’t truly been destroyed, and there are still so many Roots searching for a way out. If they can withstand this torture, you—stronger than all of them—why can’t you?”

He kept telling it.

You can’t die!

You must live!

Because if you die now, I can’t get my heart back!

Do you think it was easy for me to come this far with you?! That huge heart would truly return to its rightful owner and collapse with you—my pieces wouldn’t even be collectible then!

I’m risking my life to go along with you!

“So it’s okay. If everything could succeed instantly, what’s the point of fighting for anything? So what if we fail once? We have a second time, a third time, a fourth time! As long as we’re alive, we have a lifetime to figure out how to leave this hell!”

Lynn gritted his teeth and poured all kinds of comforting words into it.

Because he knew very clearly.

When someone’s faith collapses, the best thing is to have someone beside them to comfort, care for, and accompany them. Whether human, loli, or deity, at that time they are at their most fragile!

The Colossus’s body still kept falling, continuously disintegrating.

Torn apart by that hell.

Plummeting toward the deepest abyss.

And finally.

A long, despairing howl—the breaking of a heartstring—resounded through the endless black mist, the entire sky surging with despair.

Three thousand years of unwillingness.

Destroyed in a single moment.

This was almost the collapse of belief itself; the inner citadel that had held on for three thousand years finally and completely crumbled at this instant.

“If you want to cry, then cry. Just remember, there will still be opportunities in the future to achieve this. This is just an insignificant failure, nothing to worry about… really nothing to worry about…”

Above that blood-red mental space, the shadow finally slumped down, held tightly by Lynn, and began to weep bitterly.

Its form trembled without stop.

Like a dying candle in the wind.

The entire consciousness space dimmed, only its suppressed sobs echoing in the long silence.

After going through this, Lynn understood: gods are actually like people. Unless they completely abandon their emotions and desires, they also have moments when they cannot hold on. They can be helpless and fragile, with their own faith and hopes.

And when everything collapses,

they too have a moment when they cannot bear it.

Lynn knew he could never fully empathize with that pain—he did not possess the gods’ extended lifespan, nor had he truly experienced the agony of three thousand years of hope extinguished in one breath—but as a doctor, even with his mind cluttered with other thoughts, he wanted to share and ease that suffering.

At least in this moment,

that was what he did.

He drew a deep breath, holding the Colossus’s single heart and single mind, and raised his head to gaze at the black mist steadily receding into the sky.

Sometimes, when you struggle to climb up, endless obstacles block your path, yet when you fall, everything seems unnaturally smooth—as if rushing you straight into the valley’s depths.

So is this really a prison?

That color.

That chaotic hue that cut across the boundary of hell.

Do you really have to block every soul that wants to leave this hell…?

He closed his eyes.

The purple radiance that surrounded him was gradually fading. In the vast, dark consciousness space, the faint glow from his body was swallowed up by that plunging, grief-stricken fall.

...

Outside, all the beings of hell saw that blood-red glow descending through the black mist.

It was like a star burning to the utmost, daring to contend with the heavens—after briefly lighting the eternally unchanged night sky, it plunged rapidly downward.

Everyone understood.

It had failed.

But they also knew it might have been the only new star in three thousand years bold enough to charge at the prison.

In the ruins of the Cursed City, Sir Aiwen and the Desire Mother Tree watched that scene with emotionless eyes.

They already knew the outcome.

Because no god could truly leave this hell.

Not even a Colossus.

Yet in their hearts they had wished that its desperate gamble might break the prison and return to the Upper World, because that would at least prove the cage could be broken.

Now, its fall once again proved to them that everything was a mirage.

For an instant,

the Flesh and Blood Dominator sneered mockingly, its massive eyeball instantly vanishing into a rift as it lay in wait.

The God of All Machines cast a cold glance across Sir Aiwen and the Desire Mother Tree, likewise disappearing into the chaotic black mist.

Because the Colossus had fallen.

And to them, that meant a feast!

Before the Colossus’s Brain was fully cursed, each piece of its flesh was the ultimate essence to them!

Failure deserved the price of failure.

This world was survival of the fittest, life and death—there was no need for rules or compassion.

The Desire Mother Tree’s gaze slowly cleared from its daze, becoming savage and dangerous. The surging fog instantly wrapped around her like a forest predator revealing its fangs.

And at that moment,

Sir Aiwen suddenly saw Lynn’s body, which had been slumped like a corpse on the wasteland, tremble violently.

A moment later,

Lynn convulsed and coughed painfully; life flickered back into his eyes. He struggled to his feet, clutching his empty chest, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with one hand, and gasped through clenched teeth:

“Hurry! Big Brother Aiwen!”

“The Colossus is about to fall. Whether we can pull it to our side, whether we can save its life, depends on now!”
