Having no knowledge of the Dao of Corruption nor the slightest bit of patience given the current deadly state they found themselves in thanks to the strange blob that put no real effort into trying to hide the fact that it was the one behind the soul eroding power, the two Void Integration Realm cultivators began slowly inching closer to the blob who was entirely absorbed in devouring the core of the formation pillar. Showing no intention of responding to the two approaching Void Integration Realm cultivators approaching it.

Unsurprisingly, this gave the two Void Integration Realm cultivators far more confidence than they should have when facing off against a creature born through the Dao of Corruption like the blob before them. Showing no hesitation as the two of them soon enough moved in tandem with one another to launch a swift attack towards the motionless blob at the center of the stone pyramid.

However, though they weren’t suppressed like they had been earlier when they had been facing off against the giant skeleton, their attacks ended up doing little to nothing. Only causing it to tremble slightly as it continued carrying on devouring the core of the formation pillar like nothing had happened.

"This... What is this thing made of...?" Retreating from the strange blob with a look of disbelief on his face as he stared down towards the blob that had been completely unharmed by his attack just now, the city lord of Desolate River City couldn’t help wondering if this blob was made from some kind of indestructible material. After all, even someone at the Void God Realm wouldn’t have been able to tank a direct hit from him in that kind of manner.

Not to mention, it wasn’t just him alone attacking the blob, as there was also another Peak Void Integration Realm cultivator who was left in a similar confusion as him after seeing how his attack ended up doing little to nothing to the blob.

"It should be making use of the formation here. Having already integrated with it to some extent by devouring part of the formation pillar core. Allowing it to borrow the strength of the formation pillar and part of the larger formation it connects to.

And... Given the scale of the formation this kind of formation pillar is part of, it makes sense we can’t force our way through it with our current strength..." Although different from the city lord, the one at the Peak of the Void Integration Realm had already managed to see through the blob and how it had managed to successfully shrug off their attacks.

In a way, while this integration protected it from attacks, it also meant the blob wouldn’t be able to separate itself from the crystal core it was attempting to devour, as doing so would not only mean giving up the protection it currently enjoyed, but could also result in a retaliation from the formation itself.

Or that was at least how things were supposed to go, but with the soul eroding power being created by the clash between the blob and the crystal core, it had essentially gained the ability to slowly wear them down over time relying on this soul eroding power. Allowing it to enjoy the benefits of being partly protected by the formation pillar itself while at the same time also having the ability to deal with any potential threats by wearing them down using the soul eroding power.

While the two Void Integration Realm cultivators found themselves brainstorming different ways to deal with the living blob. Poking it with their power in strange ways trying to see if they could potentially find a weak spot to exploit. Xuan Hao instead found himself scanning the interior of the stone pyramid looking for a potential way out in the shape of another invisible door with his divine sense.

Although the blob born through the Dao of Corruption was unexpected, he had no intention of interfering with it like the two Void Integration Realm cultivators if he didn’t need to. Feeling far more interested in finding a way off the small island. Hopefully a path that would lead back to Desolate River City from where he would be able to make his way back to the entrance of this floor of the tower and then smoothly retreat from the floor back to the ground floor.

Having already obtained what he had wanted from staying on this floor. All he really needed to do was find somewhere to consolidate his gains to reach the Origin Realm in the Dao of Space and then use this to break past the Late Stage of the Land Creation Realm to the Peak of the Land Creation Realm.

Unexpectedly, while part of him had already been prepared to find nothing of note inside the stone pyramid, he was overjoyed to discover that the interior didn’t just contain one passage leading away from the small island, but four.

One of them leading back in the direction of Desolate River City, while the remaining three led elsewhere. One that should be connected to the other side of the river filled with chaotic spatial current he found himself in middle of, while the two remaining passages should connect to other islands serving as formation cores somewhere within the depths of the chaotic spatial current. Not much different from the small island he found himself on.

The one little problem he found himself facing when he attempted to use the passage that led in the direction of Desolate River City, was the fact that the passages themselves drew power from the crystal core at the center of this pyramid shaped foundational formation pillar.

A crystal core who had most of its connections to the formation pillar itself cut off by the blob the two Void Integration Realm cultivators were still stuck trying to come up with unique ways to kill.

The only connections that remained fully functional being the core connections that powered up the formation pillar itself and ensured it didn’t collapse under the terrifying pressure of the chaotic spatial currents outside.

A miscellaneous spatial channel had long since been cut by the crystal core to preserve as much strength as possible and ensure the formation pillar itself could keep on functioning normally even while it was being devoured by the blob.

Gracious as this made him feel knowing that without this kind of sacrifice he and the two Void Integration Realm cultivators would most likely have ended up dead already in the middle of the chaotic spatial currents where an island should have once existed, he was still a bit annoyed knowing that there was a path out before him but no way for him to use it.

It was technically possible for him to rely on his own comprehension of the Dao of Space to traverse through the preestablished spatial channel, but doing so also meant he would have to navigate on his own with one wrong step outside the channel getting him torn apart by the chaotic spatial currents all around the spatial channel.

What made it worse was essentially the fact that everything around him would look like a pitch-black void with no clear path for him to follow. At most, his comprehension of the Dao of Space would allow him to get a general feel of the direction.

As for sensing the entirety of the inactive passage within the pitch-black void and avoiding a potential misstep? That was nothing short of impossible...

Ptsh-!

"Haha! It succeeded!"

But as he was about to join the two Void Integration Realm cultivators in dealing with the blob that now so clearly blocked the way out, one of the two managed to successfully find a small hole in the protective formation that helped keep the blob safe so far. Piercing deep into it before unleashing all his strength to tear the strange blob apart from the inside. Not holding anything back knowing that it wasn’t likely he would get another opportunity like this again-

Bang!

And the blob itself was nowhere near as strong as he and the two Void Integration Realm cultivators had believed it to be because of the terrifying soul eroding power it had ended up creating. Exploding into a bloody mess almost the second the spatial power of the Void Integration Realm cultivator surged into its gelatinousness body.

Whoosh~

Only a few seconds later, the core of the foundational pillar seemed to have sprung back alive again, as the spatial channels that had been closed only seconds earlier roared back to life again. Establishing their presence in a manner that was difficult to ignore, as the two Void Integration Realm cultivators also noticed these four new gates that had emerged along with the soul eroding power that had been hanging over them like a blade waiting to fall upon their heads at any second dispersed into thin air with the death of the blob.
