Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1251: Riding for a Fall! (10)

Jacob couldn’t help but think about the Myth of Reverend because every clue pointed toward him, starting with the latter’s sudden appearance and his instant acquisition of high authority within the Mythical Coalition.

After all, the Coalition Master had always been a mysterious figure and had never shown himself except in his cryptic appearance, according to the Myth of Black Archer’s memories.

So, Jacob also thought that the Myth of Reverend wasn’t the Coalition Master, since he was far too ambitious and seemed to have a purpose.

Moreover, the Myth of Reverend’s obsession with the survivors of the Sagittarius Continent and quickly thought about the information on the Star Network, which pointed towards the Death Lord, someone who can use curse magic.

The Myth of Reverend also began moving against the Sagittarius Continent once this information surfaced, which means he was most likely one of the minions of the Upper Plains who were after the Cursed One, or maybe after the Undead Skyfall himself.

Whatever the case, whoever the Myth of Reverend wanted, it was someone important enough to mobilize an organization capable of suppressing entire Legendary Plains.

Jacob concealed every thought perfectly as he replied respectfully, "I understand."

The Myth of Oracle nodded. "I will transmit the coordinates."

The next moment, countless runes flowed through the communication artifact as a three-dimensional star map appeared before Jacob. Two blazing markers shone within the Sagittarius Continent.

One represented the flagship of the Myth of Inferno, and the other belonged to the Myth of Thunder.

The Myth of Oracle continued, "I’ve informed them to activate their fleet trackers. Use your True Myth Compass; it’s already altered. So, it will guide you directly to their location."

Jacob nodded, "As you command."

"Good." The Myth of Oracle’s voice softened slightly, "Be careful. The situation in Sagittarius Continent still remains unclear."

Thereafter, the connection ended, dissolving into countless particles of light before silence returned.

Jacob remained standing alone amidst the desolate wasteland, the expression slowly disappeared from his face, and his eyes became frighteningly cold.

’Just how many are there who are after the Cursed One? But as long as they aren’t like the Destin Saint and Immortal Nimrod, or the Void Mantis, they’ll pay for targeting me!’

A terrifying killing intent burned in his heart as there were more players involved than he had anticipated, far more.

Jacob looked toward the distant sky where the Coalition fleets had entered the Great Cosmic Continent of Sagittarius.

A cold glint flashed within his eyes as he thought, ’Right now, it seemed I needed to deal with the Myth of Reverend. As for the Destin Saint and Immortal Nimrod, I hope they come here sniffing...’

Although Jacob had come out of the Infinite Space and decided to stay longer despite getting Elia, that didn’t mean he had no plan in case things went south; he wasn’t foolish enough to confront Destin Saint or Immortal Nimrod, at least not right now.

As for the Myth of Reverend, even if he was really after the Cursed One or just after the Undead Skyfall, he was nothing in the face of his true enemies.

He’ll observe the Myth of Reverend for now, for the best hunters never revealed themselves, they observed, they learned, and when the moment came, they harvested!

A faint smile slowly appeared on Jacob’s new face, which was terrifying, as if he had almost forgotten how to smile.

’Very well. I’ll play along for now!’

The next moment, the True Myth Compass appeared in his hand, and the needle immediately locked onto the distant vanguard fleet.

’I’ll watch from the shadows.’ His eyes gleamed with dangerous anticipation, ’And while you’re all busy searching for the Cursed One or fighting the Undead Skyfall...’

A terrifying black ripple emerged beneath his feet as Jacob’s body slowly faded into darkness.

’I’ll quietly collect your lifespans!’

The space around him distorted, then he vanished like a hunter whose hunt had officially begun. As for others, they were ridding for a fall!

---

The communication artifact slowly dimmed before dissolving into countless particles of silver light in front of the Myth of Oracle, and she lowered her hand quietly.

Her expression remained mysterious as always, yet a faint trace of satisfaction could be felt from her intent.

The report from the Myth of Black Archer was undoubtedly good news, the first since entering the Sagittarius Continent. Things appeared to be moving according to plan, despite the mystery surrounding the Undead armies’ retreat.

Yet she did not immediately leave because she wasn’t in the flagship’s central command chamber; instead, she was seated in a luxurious private chamber. A chamber that belonged exclusively to one person, the Myth of Reverend.

The room was elegant and tranquil. Crimson-gold carpets stretched beneath polished floors while enormous projection screens displayed countless streams of intelligence gathered from across the Sagittarius Continent.

At the center sat the Myth of Reverend, unlike the tension spreading throughout the fleet, he appeared completely relaxed.

A crimson-red teacup rested in his hand, and the fragrant liquid shimmered like liquid rubies beneath the ambient light. He slowly took a sip before revealing a look of enjoyment.

Only then did he glance toward the Myth of Oracle, "Is there something on your mind, Lady Oracle?"

The Myth of Oracle nodded, "As you’ve heard, the undead have withdrawn and retreated back into the Undead Skyfall Canyons. The strange part is that no one knows why.

"Black Archer believes they either sensed our arrival or perhaps the Undead Skyfall is running out of strength. But this is exactly why we need to be even more careful since they are too unpredictable, nor am I capable of predicting something like the Undead Skyfall!"

The Myth of Reverend listened quietly before responding, and it was too calm.

"I see."

The Myth of Oracle studied him carefully, "You’re not surprised."

The Myth of Reverend smiled faintly, "Should I be?"

"An army capable of drowning an entire Cosmic Continent suddenly retreats the moment we arrive." The Myth of Oracle leaned forward slightly. "Even I find that difficult to believe."

The Myth of Reverend chuckled softly, "I’m afraid I don’t know the answer either."

He gently swirled the crimson tea as he continued, "But I admit. It is indeed a bizarre situation."

The Myth of Oracle nodded, remaining silent for a moment before voicing her true thoughts, "Could Black Archer be correct?"

The Myth of Reverend looked toward her and said, "The Undead Skyfall may have sensed our arrival and decided not to fight."

The Myth of Oracle’s mask flashed brightly as she replied with a hint of elation, "If that’s truly the case, wouldn’t your plan proceed without obstacles? We could avoid unnecessary bloodshed. We could avoid fighting that monster altogether."

Her voice carried genuine hope.

After all, no one wanted to fight something the Myth of Reverend himself referred to as a Fallen God!
