Darkness stirred.

While Loki Familia was being held up by Jura and the other remnants of Evilus, the roars of monsters echoed endlessly inside a chamber far deeper in the Dungeon.

"…"

A woman (?) in a purple coat and a mask with eerie patterns passed through the corridor. The masked figure paused at the entrance to the chamber, seemingly wary of the surrounding monsters.

Amid the sickening sound of flesh being torn apart, the monsters' roars turned into wretched screams. The shrieks went on without end, but after only a short while, all that remained in the chamber was the unsettling sound of footsteps.

The masked figure slowly walked inside. In the boundless darkness, countless Magic Stones had fallen to the ground, giving off an ominous purple glow.

"Stop."

The owner of the voice had short, blood-red hair. She glanced at the masked figure, signaling her not to step onto her "dining table."

Revis picked up a Magic Stone from the ground and casually tossed it into her mouth.

Crunch. Crunch. The unpleasant sound of chewing echoed through the chamber.

"…"

The masked figure looked warily at the ground. Dust from the monsters' remains had piled up into a low, circular table.

All of it was the red-haired woman's doing, and her goal was simple. Consume Magic Stones, recover from her injuries, and strengthen her combat power.

"Any new information from Enyo?"

Revis wore an extremely revealing combat outfit. The tiny garment could barely contain her full chest, and every time she bent down to pick up a Magic Stone, her figure was nearly exposed in full.

It was obvious that this was not the outfit Revis used to wear, but one she had stripped from some adventurer.

Her previous battle clothes had been cut in half by Ais's sword, making them rather inconvenient to move in, so when Revis visited a certain place, she had taken another set along the way.

"Catch."

The masked figure's voice held no emotion. Its distorted, overlapping tone sounded neither male nor female, making her gender impossible to determine.

Standing outside the ring of dust, she tossed over a rolled-up sheet of parchment.

"Loki Familia is coming… Tsk, I knew that already."

Revis caught the parchment, glanced at its contents, and clicked her tongue.

She bit through the Magic Stone in one mouthful and answered irritably, "[Aria] and the others injured me too badly. I'm not making a move."

Only a few days had passed since the incident at the 24th Floor Pantry. Because Bell Cranel had been there, the red-haired woman had taken a direct, solid slash from Ais even after using a cursed weapon.

Revis understood that she had not fully recovered yet, and even if she returned to perfect condition, she would only lose again. But she had no intention of letting the matter go. As a Creature, Revis kept chewing through Magic Stones, trying to increase her strength.

"Judging by how calm you look, do you have some way to deal with them?"

The masked figure watched the red-haired woman's face, trying to read something from her expression.

As far as she knew, if Revis suffered a setback, she would definitely vent her frustration on monsters. But the red-haired woman was calm enough to be frightening.

"Why are you asking?"

Revis narrowed her eyes and gave the masked figure a cold look.

As a liaison, the other party had never done anything unnecessary. Revis had never seen her kill anyone, nor had she seen her command the Viola to commit evil.

Aside from killing monsters in the Dungeon, the masked figure was only responsible for passing along information from [Enyo].

It was rather rare for her to ask about anything like this.

"Just asking."

The masked figure's voice had not the slightest fluctuation.

"…"

Revis withdrew her gaze and returned to eating.

Once the Magic Stones on the ground had all been chewed up, the red-haired woman raised a crimson greatsword and thrust it toward a [Dragon] not far away.

Screams rang out endlessly.

Revis used her hand as a blade and removed a Magic Stone from the monster's corpse. "By the way, if you're that curious, why don't you go try it yourself?"

"[Sword Princess] and the others are strong. I believe I've said before that I only live for [myself]."

The masked figure studied the depths of the darkness, as if trying to see something in the writhing black shadows.

"Heh. You're smarter than that fool. Leaving [Aria] aside for now, I don't care whether she lives or dies anyway."

Revis shook the blood from her hand, as if her interest had been stirred.

She revealed a vicious smile and continued, "You've been delivering messages for [Enyo] all this time, but you never read what's written in them. Could you be one of the ones being used too?"

"No matter what you say, all that matters is that I stay alive."

At the mention of the City Destroyer, a trace of disgust seemed to enter the masked figure's voice.

"Alive, huh… We're all walking corpses, and you still manage to say that."

Revis looked over the masked figure's body and waved casually. "Forget it. You're still better than the fool before you, the one who mistook filth for salvation. I've received the letter. You can leave."

"…"

The masked figure still seemed to want to say something, but after glancing at the Viola lurking in the darkness, she realized the idle conversation was over.

If she kept pressing, it would no longer be just a chat.

The masked figure turned to leave. Above her head, a Viola waved its tentacles, carrying brightly colored red stones.

Fragments fell onto the masked figure's purple coat. She glanced at them, then hurried away.

Let it be. [She] would be fine anyway.

The name of a certain boy surfaced in the masked figure's mind, but she did not dwell on it at all and left the chamber.

...

After the masked figure had gone far away, the red-haired woman looked at the crimson stone and murmured softly,

"Considering the timing, it should be about time… To think they went out of their way to research something like this. Those lunatics on the surface really aren't ordinary."

A few days earlier, after the incident at the 24th Floor Pantry ended, Revis had gone to a certain place to deliver the [Jewel Fetus]. There, she met the Tamer Jura.

He was trying to tame the Calamity, but he lacked the necessary combat power. Revis went along with it and gave an order to the Viola, making them attack everything except Jura indiscriminately. In that way, Revis and Jura reached an agreement.

Jura told Revis the results of his research. As long as a Floor was damaged to a certain degree, Juggernaut would be born.

Revis knew of another faction's existence and understood that Jura's plan was bound to fail. But as a way to buy time and allow the true Calamity to be born, it was more than enough.

The lower Floors of the Dungeon covered an enormous area, so reaching the level of destruction Jura described would not be easy. But Revis had countless Viola at her command.

"What will appear when the [barrage] arrives, I wonder?"

Revis recalled the boy's figure and muttered to herself,

"Heh. This time… I'll definitely kill him."
