On Floor 28 of the Dungeon, Bell and the others walked at the rear of the formation.

In the event of a surprise attack by Evilus or some kind of monster mutation, Riveria could coordinate with the rear guard and react at once to protect the supporters.

Because of this formation, Bell's field of vision was completely filled with female Elves. Everywhere he looked, there were beautiful Elves with adorable faces.

Of course, Lefiya and Ryuu were among them.

After all the members regrouped and adjusted the formation again, the golden-yellow haired elf looked at Bell and spoke in a fidgety voice.

Lefiya mixed her resentment into her stare, apparently blaming the boy for everything.

With every step she took, the sour miasma clinging to the golden-yellow haired elf grew thicker.

On the other side, since Ryuu had been invited by Bell and possessed outstanding strength, she was naturally assigned to the rear guard.

Her loyalty toward royalty, her many feelings for the boy, her surprise at Riveria, her doubts about the relationship between the two of them, and even the guilt that rose when she remembered her friend's face. All of those emotions piled together, troubling Ryuu's thoughts.

Her gaze stayed locked on the boy, and she had completely become an icy beauty.

The members of Loki Familia sensed that unapproachable atmosphere and did not dare go up to talk to her.

All except one girl.

"Gale-san, are you all right? You don't look too well."

Elfy approached her with easy familiarity and started a conversation.

Because she had spread rumors at the Twilight Manor earlier, Elfy had first been assigned to the advance team. After being thoroughly wrung dry, she was moved to the supporters' position, carrying a huge backpack as she walked at the rear of the formation with Ryuu and the others.

"You've been staring at the White Rabbit Boy this whole time. Did he do something to you?"

Elfy continued.

In stark contrast to their current harsh situation, the human girl had a bright smile on her face.

"...?"

Ryuu's thoughts were already in complete chaos, and she had never expected anyone to come talk to her.

Following Elfy's words, Ryuu instinctively recalled the scene of Bell and herself tightly holding hands.

That had not been an accident, but an intimate atmosphere the two of them had created together.

Ryuu pushed Syr to the back of her mind and licked at that sweetness like a little kitten.

Now that she thought back on it, Ryuu's body followed the pounding of her heart, and with a thud, she collapsed to the ground.

"What's wrong?!"

Elfy hurried forward to help her up.

They were walking on flat ground right now. Even Elfy, carrying heavy luggage on her back, had not had any trouble. Yet the famous [Gale] had fallen without the slightest warning.

Ryuu quickly got up, not giving the other girl a chance to reach out.

Elfy looked at the blush on the elf girl's face and spoke bluntly.

"Wh—Pfft?!"

Ryuu fell to the ground again.

She immediately got up as though nothing had happened and patted the dust from her clothes. "I don't have those kinds of feelings for Cranel-san... probably... No, I can't say that either. I mustn't have improper thoughts about him..."

Ryuu's voice grew softer and softer.

"Hm? Why? Can you tell me the reason? I promise I won't tell anyone else."

Elfy's curiosity began to stir.

A confused elf girl was agonizing right in front of her, and everyone around them was keeping their distance. But to Elfy, this was exactly the moment for a talented young woman to take the stage.

Elfy immediately pointed out the blind spot.

Ryuu answered firmly.

"Hmm... I understand your worries now, Gale-san. You've been keeping everything bottled up because you had no one to talk to, right? When something like this happens in the future, why not come talk to me? I'm very good with romance, you know."

Elfy realized this was not something that could be solved in a few words, so she decided to extend the battle.

"Umm..."

Ryuu could not sense any trace of a lie in the other girl's words.

She knew she was sinking deeper and deeper when it came to the boy, yet she had no one she could confide in. Syr and Goddess Astraea were the boy's lovers, and as for Chloe and the others, Ryuu knew they were unreliable and did not consider them at all.

If this kind, cheerful girl could really help her escape these tangled feelings, then perhaps it might work.

After thinking it over several times, Ryuu spoke softly.

"All right. Then I'll be relying on you. May I ask your name?"

And just like that, during the expedition, Ryuu Lion gained a "friend."
