Sekhmet’s attention immediately fixed on the notification.

Stephen was still walking toward Elena.

Elena had managed to rise again, but she was badly injured. The wound through her stomach was closing slowly, her left arm still hung at an unnatural angle, and blood ran from the corner of her mouth. Sofia and Natasha were also forcing themselves back onto their feet. Their Half-God bodies could heal injuries that would kill ordinary cultivators, but Stephen was not giving them enough time to recover fully before the next attack.

Sekhmet asked inside his mind.

"What does Blood Corruption do?"

The System responded.

[Blood Corruption Lv1

Type: Blood Authority Skill.

Effect: The host may corrupt the blood of a compatible living target using Blood God authority.]

[Current Maximum Target: Low-Rank God.]

[Blood Corruption Effects:

1. Temporarily forces the target’s blood, body, and chaos energy beyond their normal limits.

2. Provides a major temporary increase in battle power depending on target compatibility, bloodline, physical foundation, and current condition.

3. Greatly increases regeneration and blood-related abilities while Blood Corruption remains active.

4. A corrupted target becomes bound to the host through Blood Authority.

5. Corrupted targets cannot willingly betray the host while the Blood Corruption bond remains.

6. Blood Corruption may be used on beings who are not vampires.]

Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed.

That was exactly what he needed.

Then the next part appeared.

[Warning: Blood Corruption does not create power without consequence.

After temporary enhancement ends, the target will enter Blood Exhaustion.

Blood Exhaustion Effect: Target’s true cultivation rank will temporarily decline.

Recovery Period: Several months or longer depending on the amount of power forced through the target.]

Sekhmet looked toward Elena.

Months.

That was a heavy cost.

For a God, losing part of her true rank for several months was not a small weakness. Dawn House could face other enemies during that time. Elena would be vulnerable. Even after recovering from the battle itself, her cultivation could remain damaged for months.

Sofia and Natasha would suffer the same consequence.

But the alternative was standing in front of them now.

Stephen.

A real mid-rank God.

Elena could not defeat him alone. Even with Sofia and Natasha helping her, the three women had already gone from gaining a temporary advantage to being beaten badly.

Sekhmet asked another question.

"Can I use Blood Corruption on all three of them?"

[Yes.]

[Targets Sofia and Natasha possess extremely high Blood Compatibility.]

[Target Elena possesses sufficient compatibility for Blood Corruption.]

[However, Host Rank is insufficient to naturally corrupt a God-level target.]

That was the part Sekhmet had been waiting for.

His expression remained unchanged, but his thoughts sharpened.

"Then how can I use it on Elena?"

The System answered immediately.

[Host possesses Blood God Will.

Blood God Will may temporarily replace the missing difference in Blood Authority.

The System can assist the host in directing Blood God Will during Blood Corruption.]

Sekhmet looked at Elena again.

Stephen raised one hand.

That strange power around him appeared once more.

Elena immediately moved, but she was not fast enough.

The space in front of Stephen seemed to change.

His palm struck Elena before she could properly block.

Her body flew backward and smashed through the remains of another wall.

Sofia attacked Stephen from his blind side.

Stephen turned. His hand caught her throat. He lifted the ancient vampire with one arm and threw her into Natasha.

The two women crashed together and rolled across the broken courtyard.

Mihos remained seated.

He watched everything with the confidence of someone who believed the result had already been decided.

Sekhmet clenched one hand.

Use Blood God Will.

The System had made that sound simple.

He knew it would not be.

"What is the cost to me?"

The answer took less than a second.

[Primary Cost: Extreme Bloodlust Increase.]

Sekhmet’s eyes became colder.

Another notification appeared.

[Host’s current cultivation is too low to safely channel Blood God Will at this intensity.

The System can maintain the Blood Corruption process and prevent Blood God Will from directly destroying the host’s body.]

[The System cannot suppress the resulting Bloodlust.

Bloodlust will increase by a very high margin.

Bloodlust intensity cannot currently be calculated accurately.]

[The host must become stronger before the System can provide greater mental protection.]

Sekhmet became silent.

"Bloodlust."

He remembered Alex.

The vampire who had come with Sofia and Natasha.

That battle had been different from this one, but Sekhmet had not forgotten what happened when his bloodlust rose beyond the level he had been prepared for. The desire to kill had flooded through him. Every drop of blood nearby had seemed louder. Every heartbeat had become something his instincts wanted to silence.

He had killed Alex while that bloodlust burned through him. He had drunk his blood.

The System had helped him then. It had not removed the bloodlust. It had only helped him focus it.

Directed it toward his enemy instead of allowing the hunger and killing intent to spread everywhere around him.

Sekhmet looked toward Stephen.

If the same thing happened now, then Stephen was standing in exactly the right place.

He asked inside his mind.

"Can you direct the bloodlust toward my enemies like you did before?"

[Yes.]

[The System can assist the host in identifying hostile targets and concentrating Bloodlust toward them.

Warning: The System cannot guarantee full emotional control.

The host may experience increased aggression, killing intent, blood hunger, reduced restraint, and instinctive desire to consume powerful blood.]

Sekhmet did not need more explanation. He had already made his choice.

If his bloodlust rose, then it rose. If he became harder to control for a while, he would deal with it.

If the System could point most of that killing intent toward Stephen, then the side effect might become useful rather than only dangerous.

He was not going to stand and watch Elena die because he was afraid of feeling too much bloodlust.

He looked at the notification again.

Blood Control Level Three. That was the choice.

"Upgrade Blood Control."
