Sekhmet looked away from Stephen and focused on the new skill inside his mind.
Blood Corruption.
Now that he was about to activate it, the System gave him another piece of information.
[Blood Corruption activation requirement detected.
The Host’s blood must enter the target’s body.]
Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed.
That made sense.
This was not an ability he could simply cast from a distance. The skill corrupted another being through his own blood. His Blood God authority needed something physical to enter the target before it could spread through the rest of their body.
The System continued.
[Blood Corruption may be initiated through ingestion, direct blood transfer, or controlled entry through an open wound.
Greater target strength requires a greater amount of host blood and stronger Blood Authority.]
Sekhmet understood immediately.
Sofia already had several wounds from fighting Stephen.
So did Natasha.
That made the first two simple.
Sekhmet looked at Sofia.
"I need my blood inside your body."
Sofia’s expression changed slightly.
Then understanding appeared.
She looked at his hand resting on her shoulder.
"For the new power?"
"Yes."
"How much?"
"I do not know yet."
Natasha came closer.
She heard enough to understand what was happening.
"You need us to drink it?"
"That is one way."
Natasha glanced at Sofia.
"Then why are we wasting time talking?"
Sofia looked at her.
"You really should learn to question mysterious blood abilities before swallowing them."
Natasha shrugged.
"It is his blood."
Sofia stared at her for one second.
"That is not an explanation."
"It is enough for me."
Sekhmet ignored their small argument.
He raised his right hand.
His fingernail cut across his left palm.
Blood immediately appeared.
Unlike ordinary blood, it did not fall.
It rose.
The red liquid gathered above his palm into a small floating sphere before dividing into two streams.
Sofia and Natasha both watched it.
Sekhmet could feel their blood now much more clearly after Blood Control had reached Level Three. The difference from before was enormous. Their heartbeats were not simply sounds to him anymore. He could feel the movement of their blood through their bodies, where it accelerated, where their recent injuries had disrupted circulation, and where their Half-God regeneration was repairing damaged vessels.
He directed the first stream toward Sofia.
It entered through the wound on her shoulder where Stephen had torn through her flesh earlier.
Sofia’s body reacted immediately.
Her eyes widened.
Sekhmet’s blood did not mix quietly with hers.
It entered like fire.
The first drop spread through the damaged vessels, and her own vampire blood rushed toward it as if recognizing something far above itself.
Sofia inhaled sharply.
Sekhmet felt the connection form.
The System appeared.
[Target: Sofia.
Race: True Vampire.
Existing Bloodline Connection: Extremely High.
Blood Corruption compatibility: Exceptional.
Blood God Will is required for initial corruption.
Activate Blood Corruption Lv1?]
Sekhmet answered immediately inside his mind.
Yes.
[Blood Corruption activated.]
Sofia’s body jerked.
Her hand immediately grabbed Sekhmet’s wrist.
Not to stop him.
To keep herself standing.
A violent red light flashed beneath her skin.
It started at the wound where Sekhmet’s blood had entered and spread along her veins. For one moment, every blood vessel across her neck and arms became visible as glowing crimson lines.
Sofia clenched her teeth.
"What... is this?"
Sekhmet could not answer yet.
He was feeling it too.
The connection between them had changed.
Sofia had already been connected to him through his feeding on her and the control he held over her seal, but this was different. Blood Corruption reached deeper. It did not simply place an order over her.
It entered the foundation of her vampire blood itself.
The System continued.
[Blood Corruption successful.
Target Sofia has entered the Corrupted Blood State.
Target loyalty has been reinforced through Blood Authority.
Temporary blood output increased.
Chaos energy circulation increased.
Regeneration increased.
Physical output increased.
Warning: Blood Exhaustion will occur after corruption ends.]
Sofia released Sekhmet’s wrist. Her entire body was shaking. Then her chaos energy exploded.
BOOM!
The broken ground beneath her feet collapsed.
A massive blood-red aura rose around her and expanded across the courtyard. Several of Mihos’s newly arrived fighters stopped moving. Even some of the battle maids turned toward her in surprise.
Sofia’s previous Half-God presence had been powerful.
This was different.
Her blood pressure alone felt heavier.
Her red eyes became much brighter, and thin crimson patterns appeared around them. Her fangs lengthened. Small traces of red mist escaped from her skin as her blood circulated with far greater force than before.
Sekhmet’s Blood Eye activated automatically.
[Name: Sofia
Race: True Vampire
Status: Low rank God
Temporary State: Blood Corruption
Overall Battle Power: Increasing.
Current Overall Battle Power: 121,400]
The number continued moving.
[124,700]
[127,900]
Then it stopped.
[Temporary Overall Battle Power: 129,300]
Still not a mid-rank God.
But far stronger than before.
Sofia slowly looked at her own hands.
Her expression showed something Sekhmet had rarely seen from her.
Shock.
"I can feel your blood everywhere."
Sekhmet looked toward Natasha.
"You are next."
Natasha was already holding out her damaged arm.
"Do it."
Sekhmet controlled the second stream of blood.
It entered through the torn flesh around Natasha’s forearm.
The reaction was even faster.
Natasha gasped and bent forward slightly. Her claws dug into the stone beneath her.
The System appeared again.
[Target: Natasha.
Race: True Vampire.
Existing Bloodline Connection: Extremely High.
Blood Corruption compatibility: Exceptional.
Blood God Will is required for initial corruption.
Activate Blood Corruption Lv1?]
Yes.
[Blood Corruption activated.]
Natasha threw her head back.
A wave of crimson energy erupted from her body.
Her hair flew behind her while blood-red light moved through every visible vein. Her broken arm snapped back into place by itself. Torn skin closed almost instantly. Even the damage Stephen had inflicted deep inside her Half-God body began repairing at a speed much greater than before.
Natasha laughed once.
"This feels much better."
Sofia looked at her.
"You are insane."
"I already knew that."
The System finished calculating Natasha’s temporary strength.
[Name: Natasha
Race: True Vampire
Status: Low rank God
Temporary State: Blood Corruption
Temporary Overall Battle Power: 132,800]
