Thery was taken aback and immediately began checking the various array devices connected to his airplane’s detection systems. He carefully observed the information displayed in front of him, going through each layer of the array one by one. Yet, no matter how many times he checked, he couldn’t find anything that indicated the approach of a Godly Predator.
"Are you certain?" Thery asked. "I can’t see anything at a-."
*Blip!*
Before he could finish speaking, a warning signal echoed through the interior of the airplane. Something had just entered the detection range of his radar.
Thery’s eyes widened.
Unlike Rean’s specially designed radar, which focused on sensing concentrations of Godly Pressure, the models used throughout most of this area of the Celestial Plane relied on a more conventional approach. They released waves into the surrounding environment and interpreted the reflections that came back. Such methods were reliable, but their efficiency dropped considerably over long distances.
That was especially true in the Godly Creatures’ Territories, where Godly Pressure constantly distorted the surroundings.
Because of that, there was simply no comparison between their system and Rean’s.
"So he really detected it first..." Sison muttered.
-Well, let’s get rid of it,- Arcis said as he rose from his seat and stretched. -We might as well finish it before it gets too close.-
However, before he could move, Roan stopped him.
-Leave it to us. I don’t want to waste time dealing with the envoy’s group doubting our skills later on. We might as well settle the matter right now. Let’s go.-
Thery, Haniala, and Sison heard those words through the communication channel. Roan was obviously referring to them.
Naturally, none of them expected Arcis to agree.
Yet, to their surprise, the Arctic Arcurio merely shrugged.
-Oh! Really? Then that’s fine.-
He didn’t appear concerned in the slightest.
Haniala frowned. "They must be crazy."
Even Sison found it difficult to understand. The four of them were merely Aura Gods, yet they intended to confront a Godly Predator without the assistance of any Zone God or Law God.
Thery narrowed his eyes as he observed the scene. "Let’s wait and see."
The doors of Rean’s airplane opened. Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis stepped outside. Only the four Late Stage Aura Gods would take part in it. Then, to the astonishment of Thery’s group, all four of them took flight.
"They can really fly..." Sison murmured as he extended his Celestial Sense.
Haniala’s eyes contracted slightly.
She had heard about the matter before, but hearing about something and witnessing it with her own eyes were entirely different experiences.
"So the Weapon Intents are likely real too..." she muttered.
Thery nodded silently.
Reports concerning the twins’ group had circulated through several regions already. However, because their accomplishments were so absurd, many experts simply assumed that at least part of the information had been exaggerated along the way.
Now, however, the truth was right in front of them.
*Roar!*
A thunderous cry echoed through the sky.
The Godly Predator finally appeared.
It was a Kanxal Haga, a canine-type Godly Creature covered in dark-blue fur streaked with silver lines. Bolts of lightning danced constantly around its body, crackling violently each time its paws touched the ground.
Its specialty lay in explosive speed.
By concentrating enormous quantities of Lightning Element in its limbs, the creature could unleash terrifying bursts of acceleration. At the same time, its powerful jaws were capable of enduring the tremendous impact generated by those attacks.
In a single instant, it locked onto the cultivators standing before it.
The twins’ group quickly distanced themselves from the airplanes while Thery, Arcis, and the others left their own vessels to watch the battle from outside.
"Friend Arcis..." Thery hesitated before continuing. "Is this really..."
Arcis interrupted him before he could finish.
"What? Dangerous?" He shrugged. "Probably. But don’t worry. Those four might not be able to kill it immediately, yet they definitely won’t lose."
Haniala’s expression grew even stranger.
A Middle Stage Law God was saying such words about four Aura Gods as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
Just how ridiculous were these people?
Back at the twins’ group, the distance between both sides closed rapidly.
Only a few seconds later, the battle began.
’We are already more than two hundred meters away from the airplanes. Should we use the Sanctuary? They won’t be able to notice its activation from this distance,’ Kentucky suggested through their soul connection.
Roan immediately rejected the idea.
’No. This Predator should possess strength roughly equivalent to that of an Initial Stage Zone God. After our breakthrough, we should be able to deal with it without that kind of help, and we will need to do so more often during this trip too.’
Rean glanced at the beast charging toward them. ’But we always use the Sanctuary or the Anti-Godly Pressure Pills. Without them, our strength drops considerably.’
’Once again,’ Roan insisted, ’our breakthrough should compensate for the difference. Kentucky, take the front. Block its advance head-on. Do not dodge, and do not retreat.’
’Eh?!’ Kentucky almost choked. ’But it will hurt!’
’Not as much as the additional training sessions I’ll prepare for you if you fail,’ Roan replied in the same cold tone as always.
Kentucky immediately straightened his posture. ’You know, I have always wanted to test the limits of my defenses properly after our last breakthrough. What an incredible opportunity! Leave it to me!’
*Tzzzzzz!*
Lightning exploded around the Kanxal Haga as its speed increased once more.
’Dark and Light Godly Armor!’
Brilliant white and black flames erupted from Kentucky’s body, covering him from head to toe.
At the same time, the Kanxal Haga opened its mouth wide, revealing rows of sharp teeth surrounded by crackling arcs of lightning.
*Bang!*
Both sides collided violently.
The impact sent powerful shock waves rippling across the surroundings.
The Kanxal’s jaws immediately clamped down on Kentucky’s chest. Since the beast’s Godly Pressure was not being neutralized, Kentucky’s strength was considerably reduced, allowing the creature to break through part of his defenses.
Blood splashed through the air.
Even so, Kentucky showed no intention of retreating.
Dark and white flames continued pouring from his body while the Kanxal released even more lightning in an attempt to tear away a piece of flesh before escaping.
Yet, before the creature could pull back, Kentucky’s talons firmly seized its front legs.
"You bastard!" Kentucky shouted angrily. "Do you think you can simply bite me and run away? Do you have any idea how many girls would die for a piece of me? You’re staying right here!"
A moment later, he added in a much quieter voice, *Ouch...*
*Tssssss...*
The dark and white flames spread across the Kanxal’s body.
The beast responded immediately, releasing even more lightning in an attempt to resist the effects of Kentucky’s elements.
At that exact moment, it sensed danger approaching from both sides.
Rean and Roan had already arrived.
’Red Life, Enhancement!’
’Red Life, Red Line!’
’Red Death, Death Cross!’
*Awwooooo!*
The Kanxal Haga immediately released the full power of the Godly Energy stored within its body. Lightning burst outward in all directions as its strength increased dramatically.
The immense pressure forced Kentucky backward, gradually weakening his grip.
However, neither Rean nor Roan showed the slightest concern.
They knew perfectly well that Kentucky wasn’t alone.
Celis had already made his move.
*Zush! Zush! Zush! Zush!*
Countless roots erupted from the ground, wrapping themselves tightly around the Kanxal’s body.
The beast struggled violently.
Lightning exploded everywhere as it tore through several of the roots. One of its front paws managed to break free from Kentucky, but the remaining restraints continued pulling the creature downward.
It wasn’t enough. for it to escape. The opportunity had already been created.
*Swish! Swish! Swish!*
*Kabrum!*
*Roarrrr!*
The difference created by their breakthrough became immediately apparent.
Being able to control seventy-five percent of their energy outside their bodies instead of only fifty percent had increased their combat strength tremendously.
If their abilities had improved so much merely by reaching the Late Stage of the Aura God Realm, one could only imagine what would happen after they reached the Peak Stage and gained complete control over their external energy.
The Kanxal Haga’s neck was severed.
Its heart was pierced.
Dark-red and bright-red lightning exploded throughout its body, destroying flesh, bones, and internal organs alike.
The creature’s struggle continued for only a few more seconds before its enormous body collapsed to the ground.
Its eyes rapidly lost their light.
The battle was over.
*Ouch... ouch... ouch...*
Kentucky carefully stepped away while holding his chest.
The wound was deep.
Had he released the Kanxal’s legs even a moment earlier, the beast would almost certainly have succeeded in tearing away a large piece of flesh.
Once again, the twins’ group was reminded of just how troublesome Godly Pressure could be.
*Rawr!*
Suddenly, the little fox jumped excitedly from Rean’s shoulder. Her eyes were fixed on the Kanxal’s head. More specifically, she was staring at the Godly Predator Crystal hidden inside.
*Zush!*
*Grab!*
Before she could advance any farther, one of Celis’s roots wrapped itself around her two tails and suspended her in the air.
"Where exactly do you think you’re going?" Celis asked. "That crystal belongs to us."
*Rawr!*
The fox immediately protested.
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed as he picked her up. "Don’t be impatient. Look over there instead."
He gently turned her toward the horizon.
The fox’s eyes immediately lit up.
Numerous Godly Creatures were rushing toward them after sensing the presence of cultivators and the death of the Kanxal Haga. Most of them were merely Godly Spawns that happened to inhabit the surrounding region, so they weren’t really a threat.
*Rawr!*
Without the slightest hesitation, the fox leaped forward.
Red-golden flames erupted around her body as she charged directly toward the incoming creatures.
—
Back near the airplanes, Thery and his companions were still staring blankly at the battlefield.
"They really killed it..." Sison murmured.
Arcis shrugged as though everything that had happened were completely ordinary. "Believe me, you aren’t the only special people around here. These four are an extremely unusual group, even by our region’s standards."
He then pointed toward the fox, who was currently running wild among the Godly Spawns. "And don’t forget her. She’s only at the level of an Anchor God, yet she can already manipulate energy outside her body. Even their pet is weird."
Haniala stared silently at the scene.
A few minutes earlier, she had assumed that Rean had simply been carried all the way into the Godly Creatures’ Territories by stronger companions.
Now she wasn’t so sure anymore.
As for Thery, he finally understood why Clasou had been so determined to keep the twins’ group in Besgol.
They weren’t merely talented cultivators.
They were monsters.
And, judging by the excited expression on Rean’s face as he watched the fox hunt, they weren’t even taking this battle seriously.
