The trip resumed, and this time, Rean no longer needed to hold back the airplane’s speed. Before, he had limited it to a level that Thery’s airplane could sustain. Now that everyone was aboard the same vessel, there was no reason to restrain the Celestial Thrusters any longer.
Before, with the Light Bending Array active, the airplane could only maintain a speed comparable to that of a Peak Stage Aura God flying race. However, after the latest improvements to the thrusters, it could truly maintain a speed equivalent to an Initial Stage Zone God while keeping the Light Bending Array active the entire time.
What did that mean? Simply put, unless Godly Creatures physically blocked their path, only Godly Predators would be capable of keeping up with them. Ordinary Godly Beasts would hardly pose any problem along the way.
Naturally, that also meant they would reach the fortress ruins much sooner.
There was another advantage as well. During their previous trip, the twins’ group had killed nearly every Godly Predator they encountered along that route. A few had escaped, but most had died. Since they were following exactly the same path now, encounters with Godly Predators became extremely rare.
Thery and his companions found that fact quite surprising. After all, they had traveled for many days already, yet they had encountered only a handful of Godly Predators. It was difficult to imagine that such a dangerous route had become relatively safe simply because four Aura Gods and a Spirit had passed through it once before.
Ironically, even though this expedition should have been much more dangerous because of the larger number of experts involved, the journey turned out to be considerably safer.
Of course, the drawbacks of being unable to use the Godly Pressure Disguise Array eventually caught up with them. Their presence continued to grow stronger, attracting Godly Creatures from farther and farther away.
By the time they had completed two-thirds of the journey, a Godly Horror finally appeared.
Fortunately, the situation was very different from their previous expedition. Not only did they have a much larger group, but they also had two Middle Stage Law Gods among them.
Arcis and Thery immediately took the lead.
The Zone Gods and the twins’ group supported them from the flanks while the two Law Gods confronted the Godly Horror head-on. Even so, the battle was extremely difficult. They were still outside the influence of the Sacred Relics, and the enormous amount of Godly Pressure released by the creature significantly reduced their strength.
Fortunately, Roan quickly took control of the situation.
Well, to be more precise, he took command of the experts from the Besgol Region. Thery and the members of the Thousand-Script Race weren’t the type to obey the orders of a stranger so easily. Roan didn’t mind. He simply observed their movements and adapted his strategies accordingly.
The battle continued for nearly ten minutes.
Several injuries appeared on both sides, yet the situation gradually shifted in their favor. Arcis fought directly against the Godly Horror, relying on his superior physical strength to keep the creature occupied, while Thery continuously used his runes and arrays on his own body to interfere with the movements of their opponent.
Meanwhile, Lukay attacked relentlessly from the rear, forcing the creature to divide its attention. Flugel and the other Zone Gods also played their part, disrupting the creature’s movements whenever an opportunity presented itself.
As for the twins’ group, they constantly moved around the battlefield, striking whenever Roan identified a weakness.
Eventually, Roan forced the Godly Horror into a disadvantageous position, allowing Rean and Lukay to unleash powerful attacks and inflict several severe wounds.
Even so, a Godly Horror was still a Godly Horror.
Without the Sanctuary or the Anti-Godly Pressure Pills, there was no way to stop its weakening effect.
The creature released all the Godly Energy stored in its body before fleeing into the distance.
At the end of the day, survival was important to Godly Creatures as well.
No one attempted to pursue it. The battle had attracted far too much attention, and remaining in the area would only invite even more trouble. Everyone immediately returned to Rean’s airplane before continuing their journey.
’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’
Rean placed his hand on Flugel’s shoulder, and the injuries covering the old Arrays Guild Master’s body immediately began to close.
Flugel looked at him with obvious admiration. "I knew from the reports that your healing abilities were exceptional, but seeing them with my own eyes is an entirely different experience."
Rean laughed. "Well, I had an entire lifetime in the Great Void to perfect them. Back when I learned to use Light Element for it, I became quite well known."
Arcis also looked at the injuries on his own body as they gradually disappeared; Roan was healing him. As for his daughter, Kentucky took charge. Even after seeing Rean heal others several times during the journey, he still found the process somewhat unbelievable.
"Every time I see this skill of yours, I become more convinced that you chose the wrong profession," Arcis commented.
"Oh?" Rean smiled. "Should I have become a healer instead?"
"You practically already are." By then, Thery and his companions no longer had any doubts about the twins’ group’s abilities. In fact, the long trip had turned into an opportunity for everyone to exchange ideas.
Rean discussed arrays with the experts of the Thousand-Script Race whenever they had some free time, while Thery and the others explained many of their own methods regarding runes and inscriptions.
Flugel, naturally, participated enthusiastically in every discussion.
At first, Haniala had been quite reluctant to do the same. However, after witnessing Rean’s abilities firsthand, even she gradually abandoned her reservations.
After all, seeing was believing.
More than once, Thery found himself surprised by Rean’s unconventional ideas. Most of them ignored countless rules and assumptions that the Thousand-Script Race had accepted for generations, yet they somehow produced excellent results.
As much as his pride resisted admitting it, he couldn’t deny reality.
Besgol had truly created something extraordinary.
