Deviant Kings: Claimed by The Four Lycan Kings
Chapter 22: The Framed PrinceAdeline’s pov~
I scoffed, a bitter, breathless sound that cut through the heavy silence. With a violent jerk, I pulled myself back, tearing out of his loosened grip. My ribs screamed in protest, but I ignored the agony, my eyes burning with pure hatred.
"What do you want, Lord Zyran?" I asked, my voice a freezing, deadpan wire.
I grabbed the edge of my oversized black hoodie, aggressively pulling it back over my head to bury my face in the shadows again. I just wanted him gone. I wanted him out of my sight.
But he didn’t back down.
Before I could even take a breath, Zyran lunged forward. He moved with a terrifying, blinding speed, his large, powerful hand locking around my wrist like a vice. Before I could scream, he yanked my arm down and used his other hand to violently tear the hood away from my face.
The harsh classroom light flooded my vision again, exposing my swollen, purple cheek and the fresh smear of blood on my split lip.
"Who did this?" Zyran demanded, his voice shaking with a dark, terrifying intensity. He stepped deeper into my space, his dark eyes scanning every inch of the raw damage.
"Let go of me!" I spat, pulling against his iron grip, but he wouldn’t budge. My breath hitched as the pain in my shoulder flared, a hot tear finally escaping my eye.
"I said, who did it, Adeline?!" he roared, his voice dropping into a guttural Lycan growl that rattled the windows of the empty classroom. His pupils were completely blown, his jaw locked in a terrifying mix of fury and panic. "Look at me! Who touched you last night? Was it the omega---"
"Why do you care?!" I snapped back, my voice cracking as I glared at him through my tears. "You wanted me broken, didn’t you? You wanted me out of your way! Well, congratulations, Lord Zyran. You got exactly what you wanted! I have told you already, I won’t come near you or anyone from those four thrones, including Raven. Just stay the fuck out of my path."
Zyran’s grip on my wrist loosened slightly, his face twisting into complete, genuine confusion. The lethal fury in his eyes faltered, replaced by a sudden blankness. He looked at my bruised face, then back at my eyes, completely lost.
I let out a harsh, bitter scoff and yelled coldly, the words slicing right through his confusion. "Don’t play dumb with me! It was you. I know it was you!"
"What?" Zyran muttered, his voice dropping.
"You hired those omegas to wreck me last night, and now you’re standing here putting on this pathetic act, Lord Zyran!" The tears finally spilt over my burning cheeks, hot and angry.
"You wanted me broken! You wanted me punished for being near Raven! So, you had the omegas strip off my dignity? You ordered them to do that to me."
Zyran staggered back a half-step, his hand dropping completely from my wrist as if he had just been burned. "What? No... it wasn’t like—"
"Just shut up!" I screamed, the sound tearing at my raw throat. I didn’t want to hear his voice. I didn’t want to hear his lies.
"I already told you out there, and I am telling you right now—I won’t come near you. I won’t come near the other princes. I will stay completely away from Raven! Just don’t get the hell in my way, and stay the fuck out of my life!"
I snatched my hood, violently yanking the thick black fabric back over my face, burying my injuries in the dark. I turned my back on him, my entire body shaking with a mix of agonising physical pain and pure hatred.
"What did they do to you?!" Zyran suddenly roared behind me.
His voice didn’t carry his usual aristocratic arrogance anymore. It was a raw, terrifying explosion of pure Lycan anger that rattled the empty wooden desks around us. The air in the room grew heavy, suffocatingly hot with his flaring Alpha aura. He sounded like a predator ready to tear the world apart.
I paused at the edge of the row, my spine locking into a rigid, unyielding wire. I didn’t turn back to look at him. I just kept my head down, my hands shoved deep into my pockets, my voice dropping into a freezing, deadpan whisper that cut right through his roaring fury.
"Exactly what you told them to do."
Without waiting another second, I forced my trembling legs to move. Biting through the sharp, stabbing agony in my ribs, I walked straight out of the classroom, leaving the Prince of the Third Throne standing entirely alone in the empty, dust-speckled shadows.
Author’s pov~
The double doors slammed shut, the echo ringing like a death knell in the empty classroom.
Zyran stood frozen in the dust-speckled light, the phantom sting of Adeline’s words cutting far deeper than the slap she had delivered in the courtyard.
"Exactly what you told them to do."
Her voice looped in his head, cold and entirely convincing. Zyran’s stomach lurched, a sickening knot tightening in his chest. He looked down at his trembling palms.
He was an arrogant prince.
He was ruthless, manipulative, and fiercely protective of the Four Thrones.
He had absolutely ordered his intelligence network to scare her, to track her movements, to ensure the nameless, scentless defect stayed far away from Raven.
But this? A brutalised face? A dislocated shoulder? Broken ribs?
Never. He would never let a girl get wrecked like that, let alone orchestrate it himself. Highborn or not, there were lines he did not cross.
A feral, defensive instinct roared to life inside his chest. Something was fundamentally, dangerously wrong. His directives had been twisted. Someone had hijacked his orders.
Panic and volcanic fury hit him all at once.
He had clearly ordered to scare her away. With words. A verbal warning.
Zyran snatched his phone from his pocket, his fingers moving in a blur as he dialled a secure, direct line. The call connected on the first ring.
