Adeline’s pov~

Did these arrogant bastards genuinely believe I was still the defenceless, soft-hearted omega they left bleeding in the mud? Did they honestly think that barking at me with their pathetic Alpha pressure was going to make me bow down and scrape my knees on the floor?

What kind of delusion were they living in? Did they really believe that throwing a highborn title around gave them the right to wrap their fingers around my wrist and dictate my life?

Dumbasses.

"Consider this a tiny taste of reality," I said, each word sharp and precise.

"Next time you decide to put your hands on me or cross my path, be a lot more careful. Because I guarantee you, it won’t just end with a few pathetic drops of blood... and it certainly won’t stop at a couple of minor scratches."

I pivoted slowly on my heel, turning my back on them as I walked away.

That was when I caught sight of Lord Raven.

The Lycan prince had come to an abrupt halt in the centre of the aisle, his massive, imposing frame frozen mid-stride.

His sharp, dark eyes were locked onto me, rippling with a strange mix of genuine shock and a subtle, wickedly proud smirk that curved the edge of his ruthless lips.

I could feel the explosive, murderous rage radiating off Lucas and Logan from behind me, their heavy breathing harsh and ragged as their wounded Alpha pride boiled over.

"Logan! Oh Moon Goddess, Logan!" Chloe’s shrill, panicked shriek broke through the quiet as she started her delicate act.

She rushed to his side, her manicured hands hovering over his arm in a dramatic, pathetic show for the surrounding nobles.

"Are you alright?! Fuck, look at all this blood! We need to get you a healing salve right now—"

"That fucking bitch—!" Lucas roared, taking a violent step forward, his jaw clenched so hard the bone looked ready to snap.

Before the rage tearing out of their throats could even cross their lips, I stopped in my tracks.

I didn’t turn my whole body around. I just glanced back over my shoulder, my eyes glittering with satisfaction.

"By the way, just to be clear, by any chance did you think that was advice? The part where I told you to stay the fuck away from me?" I whispered, my voice calm and composed.

"Well, for your information... it wasn’t. It was a warning. Touch me one more time, and I won’t just put scratches on your wrist. I’ll bleed you dry in front of this entire elite academy and watch you choke on your own highborn pride."

I turned away, ignoring the suffocating silence that had fallen over the class.

Behind me, Chloe let out a sharp, ragged scoff, her manicured fingers digging desperately into Logan’s uninjured arm as if trying to anchor her crumbling dignity.

She opened her mouth, her breath hitching as she prepared to spew whatever venom was left in her wretched throat, but she didn’t even get the chance to speak.

The rhythmic, heavy crunch of footsteps echoed down the aisle behind me.

I paused, my hand still resting casually inside my hoodie pocket, and turned my head at the sound of Sierra’s voice.

Sierra had moved up from the back row, her posture straight.

As she glided past the trembling trio, her foot swung out; whether it was a clumsy accident or a cold, calculated move, I don’t know.

But I know what was coming.

The sharp heel of her boot stomped directly down on Chloe’s foot with brutal force.

The force was brutal enough to confirm it wasn’t ’accidental’ but ’intentional’.

"Ow! What the—" Chloe gasped, her delicate facade fracturing instantly as she stumbled sideways, her grip slipping off Logan.

Sierra froze, placing a hand over her chest as she let out a gasping, panicked breath that sounded so utterly fake.

"Oh my... I didn’t mean to—" Sierra stammered, her voice pitching high in mock distress.

Chloe quickly forced her trembling lips into a tight, sweet smile, clinging to Lucas’s arm in a desperate attempt to maintain her helpless, victim act in front of the watching nobles and the silent Lycan Princes.

Chloe still couldn’t catch it. Not my problem.

"It’s fine, I know you didn’t mean—" Chloe began, her voice dripping with artificial grace and a sweet tone.

"No. It’s not fine! Fuck, I accidentally stomped on shit!" Sierra cut her off cleanly, her tone dropping into a flat, venomous sneer.

She cast a look of absolute disgust down at Chloe’s heels, as if she had just stepped in something rotting on the side of the road, then rolled her eyes and walked right past her.

Sierra walked towards me, a slow, triumphant grin spreading across her face.

Looking back at the three of them, Logan clutching his bleeding, silver-burned wrist, Lucas trembling with impotent rage, and Chloe standing there flushed with utter humiliation, I felt a rare, cold curl of satisfaction settle in my chest.

I almost smiled at what Sierra did.

"Come on, Adeline, Let’s go," Sierra muttered softly as she reached my side. "The air in here smells like trash anyway."

Without offering another glance toward the four Lycan Lords standing frozen in the aisle, we turned our backs on the highborn crowd and walked out of the hall together.

The heavy oak doors of the lecture hall swung shut behind us, cutting off the suffocating air, the whispers, and the blood still dripping onto the cold marble floor.

The moment we stepped into the long, empty hallway, Sierra let out a loud, breathless, amused laugh.

"That was awesome! Incredible and so damn hot." Sierra squealed, keeping her voice low.

"Girl, you were so damn cool back there! I swear my jaw dropped to the floor. I knew you didn’t care about anything, but I never expected you to pull out a real silver knife and slice a highborn Alpha like it was nothing! By the way, I never knew you were that savage."

I kept my hands shoved deep inside my hoodie pockets, my fingers brushing against the cold, quiet steel tucked up my sleeve.

A small, rare smile flickered at the corner of my mouth as I glanced over at her.

"Thanks," I murmured, letting a fraction of genuine warmth bleed through my voice. "But honestly... I have to admit, the dessert you served was far sweeter than the main course."
