Divine Beast Creator

Chapter 2529 - 2530: Useless Clues

In the area temporarily named as the Twisted Realm by Feng Yuan and others, the investigation into that gigantic DNA model yielded no results. Even the projection itself provided no useful clues.

"Hmm, the structure of this thing is more akin to the Tower to the Heavens, just that its appearance is like this. Given this, we can basically rule out the possibility of interference from the War timeline, as they shouldn’t have intended to mislead us in this manner. Moreover, this kind of thing doesn’t match their style."

Clapping his hands as if to dust off nonexistent dirt, Feng Yuan spoke, and after a moment of contemplation, Dou Yanlan said,

"Is it no longer possible to track?"

"The space has already collapsed. It’s akin to when you are searching for someone and even if you use a specialized tracking Spirit Beast, encountering a situation where the only bridge across the canyon is blown up. To say it’s impossible to find is not entirely accurate, but the difficulty..."

Feng Yuan spread his hands and spoke with a helpless expression. To him, the example he gave was relatively simple. After all, with a blown-up bridge in a canyon, at least you know the target is on the opposite side.

In the Domain of the Time River, they have no idea which direction the Domain extends, let alone find an untouched area.

"Tracking is unrealistic, and there are no clues here. However, I’m curious why they didn’t destroy this space. Could it be that they are cautious enough to destroy the path after each action?"

Veronia looked around curiously and spoke. If it were before, they might have suspected natural formation. However, with the special Domain along the Time River collapsing, that suspicion had long been dispelled.

Natural Domains wouldn’t be that fragile, or even if they were, not to this extent.

"I don’t know. Regarding this region, I’m not sure what’s going on either. Why don’t you let Gitalien take a look? Maybe it can figure something out?"

Feng Yuan spoke unconfidently. He had no idea if Gitalien could discover anything because this space was too unique and eerie, making him feel like he had entered a giant maze, unable to find an exit.

"Let’s head back first. Staying here any longer, I’m afraid they won’t hold up."

Glancing at Qi Chen and others, Feng Yuan spoke. Even with Tamur’s help, staying too long in this chaotic area was fraught with danger.

On the way back, Qi Chen asked Feng Yuan curiously why they couldn’t directly exit this space. Feng Yuan’s answer puzzled him.

"Leave directly? I wouldn’t dare say where we might end up. Though this place is related to the Main World, it’s too unique and special. Both spatial and temporal coordinates are muddled here. Even if you feel like you’re taking a small step, once outside, you could end up somewhere completely different, possibly even on another continent."

"That’s why we can only go back the way we came. There, the rules of space are relatively stable, and the margin of error isn’t as large, ensuring that the area around the entry point should correspond to the same location."

There’s no helping it. Even if he wasn’t afraid, Feng Yuan couldn’t guarantee that leaving this twisted area wouldn’t separate them. The rules here were too chaotic, in contrast to the orderly rules at their entry point.

"Inconsistent rules? If that’s the case, could there be any problems?"

Dou Yanlan’s eyes lit up; it seemed like a suspicious point. Feng Yuan walked ahead, resting his hands behind his head, and said,

"Probably not. The rules here are extremely chaotic, but as for the extent of influence, it should spread around the enormous DNA model, or you might consider it the source of pollution."

"As for whether this can serve as a clue, I can only say it’s unlikely because I can’t think of anything to analyze from it."

Feng Yuan had noticed this issue before, but he couldn’t figure out its investigative value, and past failures had left him slightly frustrated.

"The inherent traits of disorder and distortion aren’t qualities a normal person would possess. I even believe that even in the War timeline, these individuals couldn’t remain hidden."

Veronia spoke, looking toward War Qichen, who had also noticed the matter earlier. Her thoughts were similar to Feng Yuan’s; it certainly posed a problem but offered little value for tracking the mastermind.

Seeing Veronia shift the topic to himself, War Qichen cleared his throat and said,

"You’re right. If such a madman exists, they shouldn’t be able to hide in our War timeline. Even in the Imperial Timeline, I doubt they could veil their presence for long."

There’s no helping it. Such chaotic traits would cause mutations anywhere, not just in the Imperial Timeline. The people there aren’t fools; how could anybody think they can hide such bizarre matters?

"Excluding the War and Empire timelines, could it be a new time tributary?"

With a sigh, Feng Yuan spoke with a look of helplessness. As War Qichen mentioned, neither the Empire nor War timelines seem capable of harnessing such peculiar matters.

But who knows, Feng Yuan suspected this thing might be fostered outside normal space, even though time tributaries might not have such chaotic Domains. The main world structure isn’t as stable either.

Nonetheless, it is still a world, and establishing small special Domains isn’t too problematic. Of course, these special Domains are unlikely to have been naturally born.

But none of this matters, as the technology in the Imperial Timeline is notably more advanced than the Main World.

"This twisted and terrifying thing feels even scarier than the Twisted Divine Beasts."

Qi Chen couldn’t help but sigh. Feng Yuan was taken aback, lowering his hands from behind his head as he stood still. Seeing him stop, the others looked at him curiously.

"Twisted Divine Beast... If it’s the Twisted Beimode, it shouldn’t be so. However, the Anti-Divine Beast being unique could produce such things. But why target you all?"

Scratching his chin, Feng Yuan felt he might be overthinking. He just instinctively associated the twisted area with the Twisted Beimode.

But upon careful consideration, that didn’t seem right. Although called Twisted something, the ’twisted’ in Twisted Beimode meant controlling the rules, not distorting cognition unless an Anti-Divine Beast relevant to this authority was involved.

However, when it comes to cognition, not even Divine Beasts possess such rule existence, as it’s unrelated to the natural order of the world. Divine Beasts usually emerge when specific rules need maintenance.

Regarding cognition, Feng Yuan saw no necessity for Divine Beasts to intervene.

Without such rules, even Anti-Divine Beasts can’t create such environments, let alone there being no purpose in doing so.

Unless someone borrowed the power of an Anti-Divine Beast to create this entity. But then, the question cycles back — why fixate on Qi Chen? What’s the aim?

Even Empire’s Gladys knew to directly confront Feng Yuan, hardly considering bothering Qi Chen and others. Would anyone else be so foolish?

Moreover, the Imperial Timeline lacks Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan, dismissing the possibility of internal targeting, considering even War’s Qi Chen in the War timeline remains a target.

"Ah, it’s truly troublesome. Hopefully, new clues emerge soon, that would be nice."

With a sigh, Feng Yuan continued on their journey. However, just then, perhaps coincidentally aligning with his wish, the surrounding environment began to change rapidly.

"Strange, why do I suddenly feel so sad?"

Qi Chen and others first noticed something amiss, looking around in confusion. As they had already passed the explosive zone, both Tamur and Feng Yuan dropped their shields. Therefore, the weaker Qi Chen and others were immediately affected.

"This is not good!"

Although slightly delayed, Feng Yuan also sensed the bizarre force. Unlike the previous distortion, this time, they were bombarded by a relentless emotional sadness.

Tamur quickly circled everyone. Feng Yuan was left alone, while Qi Chen and others were immediately sheltered. At this moment, Feng Yuan also established a defense. With difficulty setting up defenses, only then did everyone observe their surroundings with ease.
