Chapter 604: Chapter 602: Never to Rise Again

’She has enough energy to curse me out in the bathroom for half an hour without taking a single break.’

His eyes were filled with a dangerous glint, and the smile playing on his lips was enough to send a chill down anyone’s spine.

After Aria Joyce finished her shower, she glanced around and discovered there wasn’t a single bath towel in the bathroom—only a small face towel.

She towel-dried her hair, gave it a quick blow-dry, and then stopped.

She lifted the hair from her shoulders and stared at the marks of their lovemaking left all over her body in the mirror, her expression a mixture of vexation and regret.

Her hatred for them burned even hotter.

She used the small towel to cover her chest, carefully unlocked the door, and opened it. But just as she was about to step out, a figure suddenly blocked her path. She looked up and saw that bastard, Ian Shaw, staring intently down at the parts of her the towel failed to cover. Instantly, she exploded. "AHH! Ian Shaw! You pervert! Why are you here, spying on me while I shower?!"

"What do you mean, ’spying’? I’d call this watching out in the open. Did you have a good time cursing me out in there, Miss Joyce?" Ian Shaw said, raising an eyebrow with a cold smirk.

Hearing this, Aria’s face flushed red, then paled. "You pervert! You were eavesdropping on me, too!"

Ian Shaw reached out and pulled the still-dripping Aria into his arms. He looked down at the woman in his embrace with a wicked, disdainful gaze and said provocatively, "Even you belong to me now. How could it possibly be called ’eavesdropping’?"

Aria’s face flushed with shame as she struggled fiercely. "Bastard! You bastard! Let me go! Let me go!"

"Heh. Are you done cursing? If not, feel free to continue. But if you are, then it’s my turn." As he spoke, Ian Shaw bent down and swept her into his arms.

Being held by Ian Shaw like this terrified Aria, and her whole body went rigid. Her face was pale as she asked uneasily, "Wh-what are you going to do?"

"I don’t much like it when a woman I’ve bedded spends the next day whining and making a fuss."

"Ian Shaw, I’m warning you! Don’t you dare!" ’Last night was already enough to make me regret it for the rest of my life. I can’t go through that a second time.’

"Too bad. It’s too late." With a wicked grin, Ian Shaw tossed her onto the bed and shrugged off his jacket.

Aria was truly terrified now. She was absolutely certain that a pervert like Ian Shaw was capable of anything.

She rolled over, yanked the blanket off the bed, and wrapped it tightly around herself, watching Ian Shaw with a guarded expression.

Ian Shaw lay down beside Aria, though he didn’t touch her. He simply lay on the bed, turning his head to watch her. He couldn’t deny it—this woman was utterly captivating, especially when she was angry. It made him want to keep teasing her.

When he realized how ridiculous that thought was, Ian Shaw couldn’t help but curve his lips into a self-mocking smile.

’Of all the women who had been in his bed, Aria was probably the one he had looked at the most. He rarely paid attention to what the others looked like, and he never felt there was anything different about them, anything that truly attracted him...’

Ian Shaw’s inexplicable smile sent a shiver of fear through every inch of Aria’s body. She had never been truly afraid of anyone before, but after last night, she was terrified of him.

And so, the two of them stared at each other, neither one speaking a word.

One was too afraid to speak. The other, lost in thought, was carefully studying the woman before him.

Perhaps because she was so terrified, or perhaps because she was so exhausted, Aria eventually drifted off to sleep without even realizing it.

She didn’t even know when Ian Shaw had left. By the time she woke up again, the sky outside was already dark.

When she saw a fresh set of clothes laid out on the nightstand, her tense, fearful expression vanished.

She quickly dressed and left the room.

「Empyrean Hotel, Top Floor Presidential Suite.」

"Aria, you were looking for me?"

"Sit." Aria looked up at the woman before her, gesturing for her to sit down.

"Alright." Jasmine Warren didn’t object and found a seat.

After Jasmine sat down, Aria half-rose and poured two glasses from the open bottle of red wine on the table. She handed one to Jasmine, nodded with a cold smile, and said, "Have a drink."

Seeing the cold smile on Aria’s lips, Jasmine felt a wave of unease. "Aria, if there’s something you need, just say it. It’s getting late, and I drove, so I can’t drink."

Aria’s lips curled into another smile before she tilted her head back and downed the entire glass of wine. After she finished, she spoke coldly, "Jasmine, I consider you a friend. What do you consider me?"

"You’re Jason’s friend, so you’re my friend."

"Good. Since you consider me a friend, then why couldn’t you keep Mika Summers busy last night?!" ’Even though I didn’t end up with Tristan Grayson last night, I refuse to let my plan benefit that bitch Mika.’

"I’m sorry. Mika is my good friend too. I couldn’t bring myself to hurt her." ’Last night, she had wanted to take Mika away, but in the end, she couldn’t bring herself to use force. Deep down, she still cherished their years of friendship.’

"You couldn’t bring yourself to hurt her? Heh. Jasmine, does that mean you’re no longer willing to save Jason Lockwood?"

"..." Jasmine Warren didn’t say another word, simply lowering her head in silence.

’She had to save Jason Lockwood, but what could she do?’

’She had asked every lawyer in Tridell, but as soon as they heard the case was to exonerate Jason Lockwood, none of them dared to take it on.’

’These past few days, she had been on the verge of a breakdown.’

When Jasmine didn’t speak, Aria set her wine glass on the table. She stood up and looked down at Jasmine condescendingly. "I have two conditions. If you can meet them, I’ll save Jason Lockwood for you."

"What are they?"

"First, I want to see Mika Summers and Tristan Grayson get a divorce. Second, I want to see the Grayson Family ruined beyond recovery."

Aria stated her terms bluntly and decisively, but Jasmine’s brow furrowed tightly. "How could I possibly do that?"

"You can do it. In fact, I’m sure of it." Aria nodded with a mysterious smile.

Looking at Aria, Jasmine’s brow furrowed even more deeply.

’She didn’t believe she had that kind of power, nor did she think she was capable of fulfilling even one of those conditions.’

’Even when she brought up what happened with Maggie Monroe, Mika and Tristan’s relationship hadn’t been affected. In fact, she was starting to suspect that Tristan genuinely liked Mika. Otherwise, why would he have insisted on having Mika be the one to... relieve him of the drug’s effects last night?’

’Any other man would have chosen a capable woman like Aria as his aide, but Tristan Grayson had refused...’
