Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 636 - 628: TerrorChapter 636: Chapter 628: Terror
Seeing Amelia Avery smile so happily, Cassian Jennings’s heart felt as sweet as honey.
The two of them just stared at each other, smiling foolishly.
As she smiled, Amelia felt like she couldn’t keep her eyes open. They felt heavy and sticky with unshed tears, an incredibly uncomfortable feeling.
She knew she was on the verge of tears, so she quickly wiped the smile from her face and spun around. Clearing her throat, she said, "Okay, it’s getting late. Cassian, you should head back and get some rest."
Her demure tone made her sound like a polite but distant little sister.
But it also instantly snapped him back to reality.
What she called him was Cassian, not Cassian Jennings.
So, although their relationship had improved, it had also become fixed—solidified into one between a brother and a sister.
And that was all.
He didn’t dare shatter the beautiful atmosphere. Even though he was keenly aware that their relationship had reached a distant, almost estranged, point, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything more.
When Amelia entered the house, she saw someone sitting on the living room sofa.
Aiden Avery held a magazine, flipping through it casually, but his eyes kept darting secretly toward Amelia.
No one knows a brother better than his sister. Just one glance at Aiden, and Amelia had a pretty good idea of what was on his mind.
She fought back tears, forcing a smile as she took the initiative to explain. "Bro, Cassian was just here, but he’s already left."
"Yeah, it’s late. Go to your room and get some rest." Aiden didn’t press for details. He closed his magazine, placed it on the coffee table, and stood up, his tone gentle as he spoke.
"Okay. You get some rest too, Bro." Relieved that Aiden wasn’t asking any more questions, she nodded with a smile.
Back in her bedroom, she immediately spotted the glass of milk on her nightstand.
A warm, sweet feeling spread through her heart.
She hadn’t felt this happy, this warm inside, for years.

「In the hospital.」
Leo Joyce sat on the hospital bed, his face cold and grim as he gripped his phone tightly.
He’d already made over a hundred calls. No, more like a hundred and fifty.
He’d asked everyone he could think of and checked all the likely places, but there was still no news of Tiana whatsoever.
His only potential lead to Tiana was the Grayson Family, but they and the Joyce Family were now mortal enemies. He had tried calling, but they hung up the second he identified himself as Leo Joyce.
Finding out where Tiana had gone was easier said than done.
If the Grayson Family was determined to hide Tiana from him, how was he supposed to find her?
’He used to think he was all-powerful. He was the Little Tyrant of Tridell; whatever he wanted, he got. Nothing was out of his reach.’
’But when it came to women, he failed time and time again.’
’He was so damn weak, completely useless. He’d felt it keenly today at school—just how weak he really was.’
’He didn’t have Ian Shaw’s fighting skills. He couldn’t even beat Cassian Jennings, the guy he’d always looked down on the most.’
’He still remembered their conversation. When Ian Shaw disdainfully raised an eyebrow and mentioned taking down twenty-three people, the shock Leo felt was immense. Truly immense.’
’What kind of arrogant bastard was he?’
’But there was no denying it: Ian Shaw had the right to be arrogant.’
’Thinking back on the day’s events, his eyes filled with regret.’
’What the hell had he been doing all these years?’
’He was the Little Tyrant of Tridell, the next head of the Joyce Family, but what did he do every day? Nothing but eat, drink, and fool around. He’d never done a single serious thing in his life.’
’If he were strong enough, he could protect his family.’
’He was too weak. Too green.’
’Without the Joyce Family, he was nothing. He had nothing.’
’It wasn’t just what happened with Tiana that was a blow to him today. His father’s scolding had been a wake-up call.’
’If he wanted to get Tiana back, he had to do it with his own two hands, with his own power. As long as he was strong enough, no one could stop him from doing what he wanted.’
’If he just kept running away from his problems, he didn’t deserve to be a Joyce, and he certainly didn’t deserve Tiana.’
「The next morning, a little after ten o’clock at Fexia Asylum.」
Mika Summers looked at the woman in the wheelchair, her brow furrowed with worry. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"Heh. Can’t you see for yourself whether I’m okay or not?" the woman replied, her lips twisting into a mocking, cold smile.
"Jasmine, please don’t be like this."
Seeing Mika’s expression, as if she were the one who’d been wronged, sent a fresh wave of unventable fury through Jasmine Warren. "Mika, are you here to gloat? To see if I’ve really gone crazy? Well, you got your wish! I’m crazy, and I’m locked up in here. Now you’ve seen it. Are you satisfied? You can get the hell out now!!!"
"Jasmine, I’m not here to gloat. I found a specialist for you. The doctor said that if you just cooperate with the treatment, you’ll be back to your old self in no time."
The last person Jasmine wanted to see right now was Mika, who seemed to have no self-awareness at all, spouting her phony kindness. Jasmine didn’t know where she found the strength, but she clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. "Hah, back to my old self? Hah! If I go back to my old self, will I be able to leave? Or are you all just waiting for me to be sane again so you can ship me off to prison? Mika, you are so heartless. You have such a venomous soul."
Disappointment filled Mika’s eyes. She softened her tone, trying to reason with her. "Jasmine, I never wanted to send you to prison. If I could, I would have preferred to never be your enemy. If I’d known things would turn out like this, I would have had someone follow you to stop you from doing something foolish."
"Never wanted to? ’Do you think I’d believe a word you say now?’ How could she trust a "friend" who had personally sent the man she loved to prison, even causing him to be sentenced ahead of time?
"You’re emotionally unstable right now, so I’ll keep it brief. Jason Lockwood arranged for me to take care of you. Otherwise, why would I bother finding you a doctor?"
"Shut up! You don’t have the right to say his name!" At the mention of Jason Lockwood, Jasmine completely broke down, roaring at Mika in a rage.
Her bloodshot eyes were terrifying, burning with a look that could kill.
Yelled at like that, Mika didn’t dare say another word. She just stood there, stunned, one hand resting on her waist.
Mika’s fragile appearance made Jasmine hate her to her very core, an absolute and boundless hatred! ’She and the man she loved had met such a miserable fate, so why does Mika get to stand there perfectly fine? Why does Mika’s child get to exist in this world? It’s not fair! It’s not fair!!!!’
