Chapter 642: Chapter 634: Ill at Ease

After helping her finish the paperwork and get her ticket, she kindly stayed with Shirley Lockwood.

It was strange. From the moment she learned the little girl’s name was Shirley Lockwood, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was familiar.

It was as if they already knew each other.

But after wracking her brain, she was sure she didn’t know anyone named Shirley Lockwood.

Half an hour later, it was time for Shirley Lockwood to board her flight. She quickly pulled out a ballpoint pen, scribbled her contact information on Tiana’s palm, and then had Tiana write her number on her own. With a wide grin, she said, "Pretty lady, when I get back to Country M, I’ll treat you to all the best food there is!"

"Okay. When you come back, I’ll treat you to a meal too."

"Alright then, pretty lady, I’m off now."

Even though kids were so independent these days, and plenty of them flew alone, Tiana still felt the need to add a word of caution. "Okay, be careful by yourself. Once you land, don’t wander off where your mom can’t find you."

When she heard this, a flash of sadness crossed Shirley Lockwood’s eyes, but she quickly replaced it with a sweet smile. "Okay, I will. Thank you, pretty lady."

After seeing Shirley Lockwood off, Tiana Grayson suddenly felt exhausted.

She really disliked seeing people off. After they were gone, she would be all alone—so very lonely.

Just as she turned to leave, she saw the same staff member from the check-in counter leading a group of people toward her.

It looked like a scene out of a gangster movie. The man in the lead was tall, handsome, and had an extraordinary air about him, but he was just so cold. Even from a distance, you could feel his chilling, unapproachable aura.

Her delicate brows furrowed slightly. She averted her gaze, planning to ignore them and walk around them.

But before she could take a step, the man in sunglasses at the front spoke coldly, "Stop!"

Hearing him, she froze, her face filled with panic.

’I don’t think I know these people, do I?’

"Mr. Lockwood, that’s her. This is the young lady who brought Miss Lockwood to check in." The staff member, sensing trouble, quickly shifted the blame onto Tiana.

Right. As soon as she heard "Mr. Lockwood," Tiana understood. This must be Shirley Lockwood’s father.

’But why did he tell me to stop?’

Archie Lockwood turned his head and snapped coldly, "You, shut up."

At his cold command, the staff member immediately shut his mouth, standing frozen to the spot, not daring to even twitch.

Archie Lockwood took out his phone and made a call. He instructed his subordinates in Tridell to go to the airport immediately and pick someone up, making sure to keep a close eye on her. He said he would head back to get her himself once he finished his work.

After he hung up, he looked up at the anxious Tiana Grayson. He took off his sunglasses and walked toward her.

Tiana Grayson stared in astonishment at the impossibly handsome man before her. She didn’t dare greet him first; after all, she didn’t know him well.

"You’re Tiana?" Archie Lockwood’s handsome eyes were slightly cold as he asked in a deep voice.

"Yes." Seeing that Archie Lockwood still recognized her, she nodded, a little embarrassed.

"What are you doing in Country M?"

"Oh, I came here for university. After I graduated, I just never went back."

"Oh. You’re the one who helped Rory with her check-in?"

"Yes, that was me. I’m sorry, I had no idea she was Rory. If I’d known, I would have definitely called my sister-in-law first to confirm before helping."

"Hah. It doesn’t matter. Even if you hadn’t helped her, she would have found a way herself."

Tiana was speechless. Archie Lockwood, however, was as relaxed and at ease as if he were chatting with an old friend, completely unaware that she was so nervous she had broken out in a cold sweat.
