Chapter 652: Chapter 644: Love Not Deep Enough

"..." Tiana blushed, suddenly at a loss for words.

"How about I feed you?" He knew Tiana was just being shy, but he didn’t want to pass up any chance for intimacy. He couldn’t stand the distance that had grown between them.

She clutched the blanket and hid her face under it, muttering unhappily, "I’m not hungry."

Leo’s expression dimmed. "I’ll head out for now. Just remember to eat after you’ve washed up."

"Hey, I don’t have any clothes!" she called out anxiously as she saw Leo about to leave.

"Oh?" At her words, Leo raised an eyebrow, gesturing for her to go on.

Tiana blushed and whispered uneasily, "I don’t have any clothes. I can’t just stay in bed forever."

Watching her shy, adorable expression, Leo fought the urge to kiss her. He narrowed his eyes and asked with a roguish grin, "And if I bring you clothes, what then?"

"What do you mean, ’what then’?"

Seeing her surprised expression, he tried another tack. "Will you stay?"

"I won’t." ’This isn’t my home. Why would I stay here?’

When he heard Tiana’s answer, Leo’s face instantly darkened. "Then you can just stay in bed. I’m afraid there aren’t any clothes for you right now."

’No clothes right now? Does that mean he *does* have some?’ The thought made Tiana furious, and she snapped, "Hey, Leo! How could you do this?"

Leo leaned over, wrapping his arms tightly around Tiana. He brought his lips close to her ear and murmured intimately, "Tiana, if you promise to get back together with me and come back to the country, I’ll go buy you some clothes. Otherwise, you’re just going to have to spend the day in bed."

"..." The warm breath against Tiana’s ear sent an electric shiver through her entire body. She could feel her heart pounding wildly, and her breathing grew heavy without her even realizing it.

"Tiana..." When she didn’t answer, Leo couldn’t hold back any longer. His warm lips pressed against her cheek.

The kiss was like an electric jolt that snapped her out of her daze. She shuddered, her eyelashes trembling as she cautiously looked up at Leo.

’Get back together? Return to the country?’

’Is he not with Amelia?’

’If they’re not together, then who’s his fiancée? Ruby Archer explicitly told me he was engaged.’

"Tiana, just tell me why you won’t agree. I don’t believe you’ve stopped loving me." ’If she doesn’t, then what was last night? She told me she liked me, that she loved me.’

"I... I don’t know. Just let me go." ’So what if I still like him? We can’t get back together anyway.’

’Just because you love someone doesn’t mean you have to be with them.’

Leo explained, his voice laced with panic, "Tiana, I know I shouldn’t have said those things back then. You know what it was like... My sister had her accident, my parents were so dead set against us, and my own mind was a complete mess. I didn’t know how we could move forward together. I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry. I should never have let go of your hand. I should never have let my resolve to be with you waver so easily."

"That’s enough. Don’t say any more. I understand. I understand everything."

"Then you..."

Tiana turned her head away, her voice catching. "Leo... your resolve wavered because your love wasn’t strong enough. Since we’ve already broken up, there’s no point in clinging to the past. We both need to move on."
