Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 712 - 700: Marrying a Rich Man (3)Chapter 712: Chapter 700: Marrying a Rich Man (3)
"..." Archie Lockwood listened to Rory, his handsome brows knitting together. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache.
’Ever since she was little, the girl had always slept by herself. So, to him, it didn’t really matter whether one person or two was living in the villa.’
’Whether he was home or not, she always had to go to sleep on her own.’
But now, he was hearing her say she was scared of being in the villa by herself. This was the first time he’d ever heard her say such a thing.
"But I still need three or four more days before I can come back. How about I have Mrs. Lane start staying with you tomorrow?" Although Mrs. Lane was their housekeeper, she only came by on a schedule to cook; she didn’t stay the night.
"No! I don’t want to stay with Mrs. Lane! Dad, I want to go back with you."
"I can’t get away right now."
"Dad, I’m on vacation now anyway, so it doesn’t matter if I stay here a couple more days. Why won’t you let me stay with you? Can’t I just go back with you?" ’She just didn’t get it. Why was her dad so against her staying here?’
Archie fell silent at Rory’s words.
’It wasn’t that she couldn’t, he was just worried Rory wouldn’t behave.’
But now that Rory had said she was scared of being in the villa alone, he didn’t feel right about sending her back by herself. So, after giving it some more thought, Archie Lockwood could only nod and agree. "Alright, you can stay for now. But, Rory, you have to promise Dad one thing."
"What is it?"
"You have to promise Dad that you won’t go running around, and you won’t leave my sight. If you can’t promise that, you’re going back by yourself tomorrow morning."
"Dad, I promise! I promise!" A cunning glint flashed in Shirley Lockwood’s eyes as she ingratiatingly hugged Archie Lockwood’s arm and said with a grin.
The next morning, after finishing breakfast, Archie Lockwood and Shirley Lockwood took a plane back to Jevon.
「Meanwhile, in Jevon.」
At ten o’clock in the morning, a scene was playing out inside a coffee shop.
"You really think I can’t do without you? Take a good look at yourself, you piece of trash. If your money-grubbing mother hadn’t taken my money, I wouldn’t have even bothered to meet a woman like you."
Panicking, Eleanor Bishop pried the man’s hand from her arm. "However much my mom took from you, I’ll pay it back," she said anxiously.
The man sneered, raising an eyebrow at the woman before him. "Pay me back?" he said mockingly. "Fine, go ahead. It’s not much, just a neat three hundred thousand."
"Three hundred thousand?" Eleanor Bishop’s eyes flew wide in shock.
The man’s eyes narrowed threateningly. "What’s the matter? You don’t believe me? Or have you decided you don’t want to pay me back after all?"
"No, that’s not it! I’ll pay it back, I will! Just... can you give me a few more days? As soon as I have the money, I promise I’ll pay you back."
"Heh, do you take me for a fool? Your mother already told me. You’ve spent every last penny on doctors and medicine for that deadbeat dad of yours. So what money do you have to pay me back?" As he spoke, the man yanked the woman into his arms and gripped her chin tightly. "That’s why your mother gave you to me. And since you’re not bad-looking, I suppose I can bring myself to accept you."
Eleanor Bishop struggled angrily, shouting with a sob in her voice, "Let go of me! I’ll pay the money back! I swear I will!"
"Miss Bishop, your mother made it clear she won’t be paying back that three hundred thousand. So, Miss Bishop, you’re going to have to entertain me today. Maybe after I’ve had my fun with you and gotten bored, I’ll drop this whole idea of marrying you."
"I have the money! I can pay you back right now! Just let me go first!"
"You have money? Fine. I don’t like forcing women anyway. As long as you have it, as long as you pay me back, I won’t lay a finger on you." The man narrowed his eyes, releasing Eleanor Bishop with a cold smirk.
Eleanor Bishop let out a small sigh of relief. She picked up her purse from the chair, discreetly took two steps back, and bent down, pretending to fish for the money.
Gripping the pepper spray inside her purse, she looked up and smiled at the man. "I’ll have the money for you right away, don’t you worry."
The man chuckled mockingly. "I’m not in a hurry." ’He’d like to see just what tricks this woman had up her sleeve.’
Eleanor Bishop quickly raised her hand and sprayed it right in the man’s face.
"AH! DAMMIT, YOU BITCH, STOP IT!" The man, who’d gotten a face full of the spray, howled in pain.
Clutching her purse tightly, Eleanor Bishop bolted for the exit.
His eyes red and burning, the man watched the direction Eleanor Bishop had fled, then lifted his foot and kicked a nearby chair. "FUCK! How dare she do that to me!"
