"How dare you, boy—" The men and women who came with Huangfu Feng were shocked and cried out. But with Huangfu Feng in Li Qiye’s grasp, their hands were tied, and they didn’t dare attack.
Li Qiye didn’t even spare them a glance. He just looked at Huangfu Feng and said calmly, "A Prince dares to act so unruly in my presence? I’ve spilled more blood of Princes with my own two hands than all the water you’ve ever drunk!"
"I-I’m the Commandery Princess of the Tiger Roar Sect! I-if you dare to kill me, the Tiger Roar Sect will absolutely not let you go!" Huangfu Feng was truly terrified now. Li Qiye’s light, indifferent gaze struck immense fear into her heart. It was as if, in his eyes, killing her was as trivial as crushing an ant.
"Since when does the Tiger Roar Sect dominate the East Hundred Cities?" At that moment, a crisp, pleasant voice sounded. Someone was already standing at the top of the stairs—a woman in men’s attire, exuding a peerless elegance.
"Young Palace Master Bing—" The expressions of Huangfu Feng’s companions changed drastically upon seeing this woman, and they all involuntarily took a step back.
The woman who had suddenly appeared was none other than Bing Yuxia. She stood there leisurely, then snapped her folding fan shut and walked inside. Glancing at Huangfu Feng, she said, "The Tiger Roar Sect might be good for scaring children, but to intimidate Brother Li, you’ll need to bring out the Feixian Sect at a minimum."
Even Chi Xiaodie and her group of young friends were stunned to see Bing Yuxia. As the successor to the Bingyu Palace, an Emperor Immortal Gate, she was a truly supreme existence in the eyes of smaller sects.
"The Feixian Sect is nothing special either." Li Qiye casually interjected. As he spoke, he tossed Huangfu Feng to the ground as if she were a piece of garbage.
"Get lost. I’m in a good mood today and don’t want to kill anyone. If you ever dare to show your face in front of me again... well, I don’t like killing women, but I’ll still cut you down myself." Li Qiye didn’t even bother to look directly at Huangfu Feng.
Huangfu Feng’s face went deathly pale. She scrambled to her feet, and she and her companions turned and fled without daring to linger for a single moment. She had been truly terrified.
By now, the girls at the party were all stunned into silence. Just moments ago, they had been teasing Li Qiye. In their eyes, he was just a harmless Little Ghost, even younger than they were. Yet, in the blink of an eye, this harmless boy had transformed into a fearsome figure who could handle a Prince like a helpless chick. The abrupt change left them all momentarily stunned, staring blankly at the Li Qiye before them.
"What a nice party, ruined by an insufferably vulgar idiot." Li Qiye glanced at the girls, shook his head, and spoke with resignation.
The girls finally snapped out of it. They looked at Li Qiye, then at each other, completely speechless.
"Oh-ho, and you kept telling me you didn’t need a matchmaker. So this is your type, Brother Li. You’ve built your own little harem, hiding all these beauties away." Bing Yuxia looked at the girls with the air of a dashing, romantic young master and said with a grin, "Brother Li, you know what they say: ’even the best wine should be enjoyed in moderation.’ Are you sure you can handle so many girls on your own?"
PAK! Li Qiye slapped Bing Yuxia right on her shapely rear.
"What do you think you’re doing—" Caught off guard by Li Qiye’s sneak attack, Bing Yuxia yelped and immediately jumped away, putting some distance between them.
The other girls were left speechless. ’That’s the successor of the Bingyu Palace! One of the most powerful young geniuses in the entire East Hundred Cities! And Li Qiye just dared to slap her rear—to take liberties with her! T-this is unbelievable!’
Li Qiye glanced leisurely at Bing Yuxia and said nonchalantly, "You could be a perfectly fine girl, but you just have to run around being a tomboy all day. Watch out, or one of these days I’ll strip those clothes right off you!"
"You wouldn’t dare—" Bing Yuxia planted her hands on her hips, puffed out her chest, and glared at Li Qiye with a fearsome expression.
Li Qiye smiled wryly and shook his head. He turned to the girls and said with a smile, "Sisters, please have fun. Your little brother will take his leave." With that, he turned to go.
"Let’s go. Or are you planning on staying?" Li Qiye said without turning back as he reached the door. His words were, of course, meant for Bing Yuxia.
Bing Yuxia chuckled, flicking open her fan to resume her persona as a suave, worldly young master. She cupped her fists toward the girls and said with a grin, "Ladies, I will be on my way." Then, she gracefully departed.
After Li Qiye and Bing Yuxia had left, the dozens of girls present still hadn’t recovered from the shock, remaining frozen in place.
After a long moment, the girls finally recovered. The princess from a neighboring country asked Chi Xiaodie, "Xiaodie, he isn’t your cousin, is he?"
"When did I ever say he was?" Chi Xiaodie replied with a wry smile.
"Princess Chi, who is he? Where does he come from?" The girls all began to ask at once, "He doesn’t even spare a thought for the Tiger Roar Sect. He must be from an Emperor Immortal Gate, right?"
Chi Xiaodie sighed internally. ’The Tiger Roar Sect? Forget them. There are probably very few people in this world he would deem worthy of his attention.’
"Sister Xiaodie, you two are inseparable. He isn’t your fiancé, is he? You’re always stuck together like glue. Don’t tell me you two have already..." one of the girls said with a sly grin.
Chi Xiaodie’s face instantly turned red. "Don’t be ridiculous!" she chided. "What if someone heard you?" A shadow passed over her heart, and she sighed softly. ’In this entire world, what kind of woman could ever hope to tame him?’
Li Qiye returned to his courtyard on the solitary peak of the Great World Academy. Bing Yuxia had followed him, and this time, she was alone. She hadn’t brought a single one of her beautiful attendants.
"It’s a rare sight, seeing you without a retinue of beauties." Li Qiye said after sitting down and glancing at Bing Yuxia. "Spit it out. If you’ve got business, say it directly. No need to beat around the bush."
"How about we work together this time?" Bing Yuxia was just as direct. She hadn’t come alone just for the spectacle; she genuinely needed to discuss something with Li Qiye.
Li Qiye narrowed his eyes. "Work together? On what?" He thought she was going to bring up the Heaven-Cutting Stele.
Bing Yuxia stared back at Li Qiye. "There’s no way you just happened to join the Great World Academy. You must be here for the Celestial Dao Academy’s Void Gate."
Li Qiye looked at the girl before him. ’This temperament, this bearing... she really is a bit like the Bingyu Immortal Emperor back in the day.’ He smiled and shook his head. "The Void Gate has always been just a legend. No one knows if it’s real or fake. Isn’t it a little early to be discussing it?"
"If the Void Gate was just a legend, would you have shown up here?" Bing Yuxia was no empty-headed poser. The fact that she was the successor to the Bingyu Palace proved she was an extraordinary figure.
"Now you’ve piqued my interest." Li Qiye chuckled. "There are so many people in the Celestial Dao Academy, so why come to me? It can’t be because of my good looks, can it?"
Bing Yuxia laughed. Her smile, even in her male disguise, was a mixture of masculine radiance and feminine grace. "You’re nowhere near handsome! Besides," she continued, "I look down on those so-called successors of Ancient Countries and paragons of the Great Sects. Most of them act all prim and proper on the outside while secretly plotting and backstabbing!"
"Interesting." Li Qiye smiled. "And why should I work with you? To be blunt, while the Bingyu Palace is formidable and you’re certainly an impressive girl with no small amount of power, it’s not that easy to partner with me. To put it in a single sentence: I don’t need more people! If I wanted to recruit someone, I could find old monsters far stronger than you."
"I know how arrogant you are. You did quite a few arrogant things back in the Middle Grand Realm." Bing Yuxia’s smile was quite captivating. She had already dispatched people to the Great Middle Realm to investigate Li Qiye’s history, spending no small sum to get to the bottom of it.
Bing Yuxia said with a knowing smile, "But there’s one thing I have that no one else can give you! The Palace Guardian Treasure of my Bingyu Palace! If you really want to enter the Void Gate, you might just need this item!"
"It seems the old geezers and grandmas at the Bingyu Palace really favor you, letting you bring that thing along." Li Qiye’s eyes narrowed. "Interesting. Alright, I’ll give you a share. You can follow me."
"Once we’re at the Void Gate, what will my share be?" Bing Yuxia asked, watching Li Qiye.
Li Qiye waved a hand, cutting Bing Yuxia off. "Little girl, don’t negotiate terms with me. To be frank, if the Void Gate truly exists, my chances of success are far greater than yours. Your Bingyu Palace’s Palace Guardian Treasure is formidable, yes, but the resources I can mobilize are in no way inferior to your palace’s! The only reason I’m giving you a share is that I find you somewhat agreeable. Otherwise, you think you can get a piece of the Void Gate with just that thing from your Bingyu Palace? Understand?"
Li Qiye’s words were unbelievably tyrannical. Any outsider hearing them would think he was making an outrageous boast. The Bingyu Palace was an Emperor Immortal Gate; one could only imagine the power of its Palace Guardian Treasure.
Bing Yuxia didn’t get angry. She stared at Li Qiye for a good long while before finally nodding. "Alright. A deal is a deal."
PAK! Bing Yuxia had just stood up when Li Qiye once again slapped her on the rear.
"Little Ghost, what do you think you’re doing!" Bing Yuxia leaped to her feet, glaring furiously at Li Qiye.
"Girl, don’t always be trying to imitate the Bingyu Immortal Emperor," Li Qiye said, patting his hands as if brushing off a lingering scent. "You’re a girl, for goodness’ sake. What’s this nonsense about dressing up like a man!"
Bing Yuxia’s pretty face flushed red with anger, her chest rising and falling. In the end, she shot Li Qiye a frustrated glare. "Little Ghost, stop acting like some world-weary old man! This big sister is older than you!" With that, she spun around and left in a huff.
Li Qiye was exasperated. ’This little minx is becoming more and more like that other one, the Bingyu Immortal Emperor.’
After Bing Yuxia left, Li Qiye was just about to start his cultivation when several of Chi Xiaodie’s friends burst in, their faces filled with panic. As soon as they saw Li Qiye, they rushed over as if he were their savior. "It’s terrible! It’s terrible! Something awful has happened!"
