Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 100 - 99: My Little Life Is Done For~

At the thought, Xiang Qiancheng’s anger flared. In the next instant, his fist flew straight for Jinling’s face with a whoosh.

Jinling had been prepared to take a hit the moment the words left his mouth. Seeing the situation turn sour, he reacted instantly, dodging with lightning speed. He even had a smile on his face. "Ooh, looks like someone’s flying into a rage from embarrassment."

"Good thing the Female Master helped me level up, or my life would’ve been on the line."

"You’ve really learned a thing or two, haven’t you? Looks like you picked up quite a bit from Hu Qiumu." Xiang Qiancheng ground his teeth, itching to throw another punch.

"You flatter me."

He finally felt he’d gotten a bit of revenge for when Xiang Qiancheng had framed him, making the Female Master misunderstand and think he was fooling around with someone else.

Seeing someone who never showed his emotions get this riled up by him gave Jinling a particular sense of satisfaction.

His anger even subsided toward Hu Qiumu for his own dubious behavior, though forgiving and forgetting was out of the question.

"It’s a good thing I’m so good-tempered, otherwise I would’ve hit back already."

Watching Jinling leave, Xiang Qiancheng clenched and unclenched the fists hidden in his sleeves.

He knew, of course, that Jinling hadn’t held back because he was "good-tempered," but because he still remembered the rules Chu Liangyu had set for them.

After that one duel, the matter was to be dropped, regardless of victory or defeat, life or death.

This was also why he had endured it this long. He was already in the wrong regarding the matter with Feng Qingqing; if he caused any more trouble, he feared he would only earn Chu Liangyu’s disgust.

When Chu Liangyu awoke some time later, she felt cheerful and relaxed, the fatigue of the previous night having vanished without a trace.

Pushing herself up on her arms, she felt something fluffy beside her hand. She looked down and saw Hu Qiumu, who had already transformed into his beast form.

A smile touched her lips. Chu Liangyu didn’t disturb him, instead giving a comfortable stretch.

The blanket slowly slipped down to her collarbone. Startled, Chu Liangyu quickly pulled it back up.

"Fe-Female Master."

Feng Qiwu stared, wide-eyed. A moment ago he’d had a bellyful of things to say, but now he was at a loss for words.

In a daze, he felt something drip from his nose. He subconsciously reached up to touch it and found his hand stained with startlingly bright red blood.

"Just as expected of a wild pheasant. You can’t even handle a single glance from the Female Master without getting a nosebleed."

Yu He crossed his arms, his mocking laughter unending.

Feng Qiwu awkwardly wiped away the blood and explained stiffly, "The winter air is dry, it causes excess internal heat. Don’t you know that?"

"Not like you. After spending all night in a teapot, you must be frozen stiff. You don’t have to worry about getting too ’heated’ and having a nosebleed."

Yu He stopped laughing. His expression turned ugly as he pointed at Feng Qiwu’s nose. "So you get upset when I call you a wild pheasant? What if I spent the night in a teapot? I wanted to!"

"Oh, right, right, right. You wanted to."

Chu Liangyu listened to their argument with no intention of interrupting. She actually found it quite amusing to watch them bicker. Once she was mostly dressed, she finally spoke at a leisurely pace, "Alright, you two. If you’re not done yet, you can take it outside."

The two, who had just been red-faced and yelling, immediately fell silent. The three of them looked at each other, and for a moment, no one knew what to say.

Chu Liangyu thought for a moment, then said, "Since you’re both here, go and notify the tribe’s Elders to gather in the main hall for a meeting. And if that female who killed her own Beast Husband is still alive, have her come to the hall as well."

"No problem."

"Alright."

The two didn’t say much more. After committing her words to memory, they headed for the door.

Both wanted to get a head start on the task, so their pace quickened. Because of this, their steps fell into a bizarrely synchronized rhythm.

Just as they reached the exit, they both had the thought of being the first one out. The result was that neither of them made it through; they got stuck in the doorway together.

"You stinking salted fish! When did you go blind? Didn’t you see I was here first?!"

Yu He rolled his eyes at him and shoved his body forward. "What do you mean, you were first? I was obviously first."

Chu Liangyu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She raised a hand to her forehead. "Don’t be so childish, you two. If you really don’t want to do it, I can just find someone else."

"No! We want to! We want to!"

Feng Qiwu glanced back at her with a placating smile, then shot Yu He a look. The meaning was clear: ’If you don’t get out of the way now, neither of us will be going.’

Who would have thought Yu He would completely ignore him? With a sudden shove, he pushed Feng Qiwu aside and walked out the door himself. "Screw you! Let me pass? In your dreams!"

"Stinking salted fish, you’re dead!"

Feng Qiwu chased after him. His angry shouts, fading into the distance, reached Chu Liangyu’s ears. She couldn’t help but sigh softly. ’They’re such a handful.’

If it weren’t for their handsome faces, Chu Liangyu would have been tempted to just throw them out.

’It seems only Hu Qiumu is reliable enough for me to count on.’ At this thought, Chu Liangyu subconsciously glanced at the fiery red fox on the bed.

’I wonder if all that noise woke him up.’

The moment her gaze landed on him, it met his deep violet eyes.

Caught off guard, Chu Liangyu’s heart skipped a beat. After a short pause, she finally asked, "When did you wake up?"

"Probably right when they started arguing."

"Your beast form seems different from theirs. Do you feel anything unusual?" Chu Liangyu asked, stroking the fox’s fur.

The fox shook its head, a glint flashing in the eyes that looked at her. "It’s probably due to the different method. I don’t feel anything wrong. In fact, I feel quite..."

Before he could finish, Chu Liangyu covered his mouth. Her face was bright red, a mixture of bashfulness and vexation. "Don’t say it. I think I understand."

A hint of a smile colored the fox’s eyes. He nodded obediently. Seeing this, Chu Liangyu finally released him.

’The feeling was surely no different from what she’d felt upon waking, but hearing him say it aloud made it more embarrassing.’

"Doesn’t the Female Master have things to do? Let’s go," the fiery red fox said, leaping off the bed and looking back at her.

Chu Liangyu raised an eyebrow, finding it a bit strange. "You want to come with me? Like this?"

"Is that not allowed?"

Chu Liangyu coughed. As if a thought had occurred to her, she swallowed the warning that was on the tip of her tongue. "Of course it’s allowed. It’s just that walking like this will take too long. I’ll carry you."

The fox’s eyes visibly brightened. He leaped directly into Chu Liangyu’s arms. "Then I’ll have to trouble the Female Master."

Chu Liangyu, too, was in a pleasant mood as she stroked his smooth fur and stepped outside.

The winter sun was just like a lightbulb in a refrigerator—it could illuminate, but it offered no warmth whatsoever.

The moment she stepped outside, the cold wind took Chu Liangyu’s breath away. She had to pause for a moment before she felt better.

It was a good thing she was wearing a cold-resistant Vestment robe; otherwise, she would have been shivering uncontrollably.

"Are you cold?"

Hu Qiumu didn’t know her clothes were made of special material. He instinctively used his nine tails to shield her from the wind and cold, wrapping the extra one around her neck like a scarf.

A soft, warm sensation immediately spread through her body. Chu Liangyu couldn’t help but sigh. "Having fur is the best. You never have to worry about the winter cold."

Hu Qiumu found this amusing and teased her, "The Female Master has feathers, too. No need to be jealous of me."

"I do, but they aren’t as warm as your fur," Chu Liangyu said, nuzzling her face into his fluff. She joked, "Why don’t you just be my personal heater from now on?"
