Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 118 - 117: Must Win No Matter What"Female Master."
As Chu Liangyu stepped out, she found Feng Qiwu and Xiong Xianhui standing at her door, staring at her with wide, expectant eyes. Their eyes lit up the moment she appeared.
It was a good thing Chu Liangyu had excellent eyesight, or she would have missed the subtle change in their expressions. In truth, her anger had already subsided.
But she couldn’t let them off the hook so easily. Thus, Chu Liangyu asked bluntly, "Is everything fixed?"
"It’s fixed, it’s fixed."
"Oh."
Replying with that single word, Chu Liangyu started walking toward the training grounds, not mentioning anything about helping them return to normal.
The two exchanged a glance, their faces clearly showing their anxiety.
If they had to go out and face people looking like this, it would be utterly humiliating.
But Chu Liangyu didn’t bring it up, and as the ones at fault, they were too embarrassed to ask.
They walked all the way to the training grounds like that, where the other Beast Husbands were already waiting.
Behind them were the females who had trained yesterday. Seeing Chu Liangyu approach, the group couldn’t help but gather around her.
"Sister Liangyu, it seems like two people are missing. Aren’t they coming today?"
Xiong Jiaojiao was quite familiar with Chu Liangyu’s Beast Husbands, so she found it strange that some were absent.
The corners of Chu Liangyu’s eyes crinkled. She shifted to the side and said, "They’re here. See for yourself."
"Huh?"
Xiong Jiaojiao was stunned for a moment. Then, she saw the two miniature figures on the ground, blinked, and asked, "Sister Liangyu, what... what happened to them?"
"They misbehaved, so I’m giving them a little punishment. They’ll be sparring partners in this form today. Tell the others to watch their aim and attack their targets accurately."
"Ahem, right. I’ll go tell them."
Xiong Jiaojiao suppressed a smile and nodded, though she gave the two of them another look before walking away.
’They’re so tiny. Surely they won’t get stepped on and killed, right?’
She immediately pushed the thought from her mind, feeling it was unnecessary.
But as it turned out, Xiong Jiaojiao’s concern wasn’t unfounded. For the female trainees, the bigger problem was the effort it took just to find their tiny targets when attacking.
Although their abilities were unchanged, the two of them constantly had to watch out for being stepped on. A single step for the others was a distance they had to run for a good while to cover. As a result, their exertion increased dramatically.
They hadn’t slept all night, and now they were being run ragged. Before long, both were on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion.
Chu Liangyu watched them with a cold gaze. Only when the two were about to be trampled underfoot did she finally speak. "Alright, that’s enough."
Her cool voice carried an indescribable authority. The foot that was about to land froze in mid-air and was immediately withdrawn upon hearing her words.
A faint white light glowed at her fingertips. She flicked her fingers toward each of them, and the energy sank into their bodies. After a flash of light, both returned to their normal size.
Now, because of the training, they were both a mess, looking far from their usual selves.
Chu Liangyu merely glanced at them before saying to the others, "Go spread out and train with the other groups. Don’t just stand here gawking."
"Yes, Chief!"
Everyone answered in unison and dispersed to the other groups as she had instructed.
They trained like this for a long time, only stopping when twilight fell.
Compared to yesterday, the number of females who could undergo Beastification had tripled. Only a few females were left who hadn’t yet achieved it.
Their faces couldn’t help but show dejection and envy. Chu Liangyu saw this but said nothing.
She had told them before that this would happen. Whether or not they could adjust their mindsets was their own problem.
Perhaps Chu Liangyu’s punishment was too tormenting, because Feng Qiwu and Xiong Xianhui were clearly on their best behavior after that. Up until the day of the duels, there were no more reports of Beast Husbands fighting in the tribe.
On the day of the duels, it was as if the heavens themselves were helping. The snow, which had been falling for nearly three months, finally stopped, and the sun in the sky was even more brilliant than usual.
Feng Qingqing, who had been recovering from her injuries, was quickly healed by the Mermaid powder Chu Liangyu had sent her. Now, she stood perfectly fine beside Chu Liangyu.
"Why are there two fighting rings? Is there a difference between them?"
Feng Qingqing asked, tilting her head in confusion after getting a clear look at the grounds.
"Do you see the flags on either side of the rings?"
Xiong Jiaojiao took two steps forward and pointed toward the flags. But instead of explaining directly, she posed a question.
Feng Qingqing shifted her gaze from Chu Liangyu to the person who had spoken. "I see them."
"The red flag is for duels involving females who already have Beast Husbands. The green flag is for duels between single females and male Beastmen."
"A female can choose her opponent and even the number of opponents, and the males must accept. Furthermore, a female is not held responsible for any male she kills in the ring."
Feng Qingqing listened quietly to the rules, taking a long moment to process it all.
"Are you all that confident?"
Frowning, she added, "What if it’s a female who gets killed?"
Xiong Jiaojiao shot her a look as if she were an idiot, but still explained, "If a female dies, who will be left to bear their cubs? Do you really think they’d be willing to let that happen?"
What Xiong Jiaojiao said made sense. Moreover, the tribe had far more males than females. Unless it was absolutely necessary, the males would never land a killing blow.
Even if one of them lost their head, the other Beast Husbands who didn’t have cubs wouldn’t allow it.
As for the duels involving single females, there was even less to worry about.
They were already desperate to find a Female Master; who would possibly want to kill any of the single females?
Chu Liangyu was confident in letting them have these duels precisely because she understood this mindset.
"That’s true."
It dawned on Feng Qingqing, and a look of sudden realization appeared on her face.
Seeing that Xiong Jiaojiao had finished explaining, Chu Liangyu gave a soft cough, gesturing for them to look at the rings.
"It’s starting."
At some point, a female challenger had taken her place in each of the two rings. Perhaps because this was the first time they had seen this kind of duel, the crowd below was discussing it excitedly.
"Female Master, haven’t we been getting along well? There’s no need for this fight, is there?"
The one speaking was a Lion Beastman. His tone was full of helplessness, and he felt extremely uncomfortable being watched by so many people.
"You aren’t me, so how could you know how I truly feel?"
A look of determination flashed in her eyes. She was tense, and her fists were clenched tightly.
She still hadn’t undergone Beastification, so she wasn’t very confident about this fight.
But she happened to be the first one up after the lots were drawn. Her victory or defeat would directly affect the morale of those who fought after her. ’So, no matter what, I have to win!’
