Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 132 - 131: I Really Underestimated You

There had to be something about He Yushu that made the Thunder hesitate; otherwise, it wouldn’t be acting this way. As for what that something was...

Chu Liangyu had a sneaking suspicion: the Origin of Thunder was probably on him.

If that were the case, it would explain everything. He Yushu must have stumbled upon the Origin of Thunder by accident, leading the Thunder of this realm to want it back, yet it was powerless against him.

Left with no other choice, it could only redirect its fury toward outsiders.

Chu Liangyu arriving at this particular moment was like walking straight into the line of fire. If the lightning wasn’t going to strike her, who else would it strike?

’Good grief,’ she thought. ’Come to think of it, this guy is the reason for everything I’ve been through these past few days.’

"Did you take something you weren’t supposed to?"

The two descended from the sky, landing right beside what looked like a perfectly sized Dead Water Lake.

As she spoke, Chu Liangyu emptied the grass carp she had brought from Void Island into the lake.

The once crystal-clear water was instantly overrun with grass carp of all sizes. A single glance made it look like a pot of fish soup about to boil dry.

He Yushu’s attention was captivated by the fish, and his reply was somewhat distracted. "I didn’t take anything I wasn’t supposed to. But... what are you referring to?"

"It should be a purple pearl."

He Yushu froze for a moment, his gaze slowly shifting from the fish-filled lake to her. "A purple pearl... I do have one of those. It’s just..."

Chu Liangyu immediately pressed, "Just what?"

"It’s already embedded in my palm. I’m afraid it won’t be easy to remove."

Just as he said, the purple Origin of Thunder was fused right into the flesh of his palm. At first glance, it was rather frightening.

No wonder Chu Liangyu always saw his hand wrapped in cloth. She had assumed he was merely injured and hadn’t pried, but who knew there was a hidden story behind it.

"I really underestimated you. You even dared to steal the Origin of Thunder!"

"Wh- I didn’t! It wasn’t me! Don’t you slander me!"

He Yushu waved his hands frantically. You could tell he was being honest.

Chu Liangyu was amused by his desperate denials. She crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Then why don’t you tell me just how this thing ended up on you?"

"You realize it’s because of this thing that I’ve been chased and struck by Thunder, right? Which means I’m in this mess because of you."

Chu Liangyu had just taken a close look at the Origin of Thunder, and now she understood why he had lost his memory.

Not just anyone could withstand the energy of the Origin of Thunder. Even if one managed to contain it by force, the damage to the body would be immense.

He Yushu, on the other hand, was actually lucky. He had only temporarily lost his memories.

As long as she could find a way to remove it, his memories would naturally return.

Before, Chu Liangyu truly would have had no way to remove it.

But now, she possessed a bit of the Power of Faith. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to extract the Origin of Thunder.

"Give me your hand."

He Yushu’s face paled slightly. He frowned and asked her, "You can take it out?"

It wasn’t that he hadn’t tried before, but the feeling of Thunder rampaging through his body was far from pleasant.

"Trust me. I can help you get it out."

Chu Liangyu’s tone was as calm as if she were stating a fact, giving her an air of indisputable reliability.

Because of this, the hesitation in He Yushu’s expression vanished, and he readily extended his palm.

Golden Power of Faith slowly trickled from her fingertips. She lightly touched He Yushu’s palm, and the power spread like a thin mist, blanketing the Origin of Thunder.

But this alone wasn’t enough. The Power of Faith continued to seep deeper until it had completely enveloped the pearl.

"Brace yourself."

Though Chu Liangyu told him to brace himself, she gave him no time to do so. Controlling the Power of Faith, she ripped the pearl straight out.

After all, the pearl had been in his body for some time and had practically fused with his flesh and blood. Its sudden removal was equivalent to having a piece of his flesh gouged out.

The pain made his entire body tremble, yet he didn’t cry out. Still, tears inevitably welled in his eyes.

His lips, which moments ago had been a healthy red, were now a frightening shade of white.

Chu Liangyu reacted quickly. Before a drop of blood from his hand could hit the ground, she had already sprinkled a styptic powder on the wound.

In an instant, the pain vanished, leaving only a slight numbness.

"That hurt a bit, I’m sure, but it solved a big problem. Otherwise, you would have been trapped here forever."

Chu Liangyu very naturally pocketed the Origin of Thunder and, without the slightest bit of guilt, began to spin a tale.

"I asked you how you got this thing earlier, but you didn’t answer. Can you tell me now?"

"I don’t..." He Yushu was about to say he didn’t remember when countless images flashed before his eyes. They were his memories.

Seeing his expression, Chu Liangyu knew what was happening. She wasn’t in a hurry, so she waited quietly for his memories to fully return.

While she waited, Chu Liangyu contemplated the possibility of taking the Origin of Thunder with her.

She glanced at the storm-wracked landscape at the border. ’It probably won’t be that easy,’ she thought.

’They might not dare to touch me, but they won’t just let me walk away with it either.’

’Tsk... Regardless, I have to collect some interest for all those lightning strikes.’

"Female Master?"

"Yes, it’s me." Chu Liangyu turned to look at him, her reply casual.

"I’m guessing your memory has mostly returned. Come on, tell me the answer to my earlier question."

A flash of embarrassment crossed He Yushu’s face, but he explained, "I was flying around looking for food, but I couldn’t find any and passed out from hunger. When I woke up, I was already floating in the sea."

"Then, out of nowhere, I got caught in an underwater whirlpool. I had no strength to struggle. In a daze, I saw a flash of light and subconsciously reached out to grab it."

"And that’s how my palm fused with that pearl."

Chu Liangyu was silent for a moment. She had considered a thousand different possibilities, but never one so simple and so ridiculously coincidental.

’Is this what they call a fool’s luck?’

’Forget it. So be it. I can’t be bothered with this silly bird. I have more important things to do.’

A pair of black wings suddenly manifested, and she looked poised to leave.

He Yushu hurriedly grabbed her wrist and coughed. "Um, Female Master, are all these fish really for me?"

"Yes, they’re for you. There are so many, it should be enough to last you a long time."

Chu Liangyu pried his hand off. "I have other business, so I’ll be leaving now."

"Female Master, wait! I’ll go with you."

He Yushu grabbed her again, then pointed to the fish in the lake, his tone turning somewhat fawning. "Could you help me take these fish with us?"

"This is the only place to find this kind of fish during this season. If you follow me out, you’ll have nothing to eat."

Chu Liangyu’s gaze followed his to the fish. Then she asked, "So, do you still want to come with me?"

He Yushu’s grip on her hand loosened, his face a mask of conflict.
