Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 133 - 132: Bro, You’re a Little Pitiful

"I... I don’t know."

"I chased you guys for ages and finally found you. Why are you leaving again?"

A Red-crowned Crane about the same size as He Yushu descended from the sky. After landing, it transformed back into a human. He sized up Chu Liangyu, his eyes filled with curiosity.

Chu Liangyu sighed and said, "You should think it over before you go out. Don’t worry, you won’t get struck by lightning then."

"I have other things to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now."

This time, He Yushu didn’t try to stop her, so she smoothly flew into the air. She was incredibly fast, vanishing from their sight in the blink of an eye.

"She’s not the female who tricked you, is she?"

"Mhm."

After that single sound, He Yushu said nothing more, a gloomy air settling over him.

"It looked like you wanted to follow her. Why didn’t you?"

"There’s no food for me to eat out there. I’d starve to death if I left."

Qu Jing knew about his friend’s situation, so upon hearing this, he too fell silent.

"Alright, don’t be sad. At least there are plenty of the fish you like to eat here. I’ve never seen a lake with this many fish."

He clapped him on the shoulder, and Qu Jing walked toward the lake, scooped up a fish, and tossed it to him. "Eating something should make you feel better."

"She gave all of this to me. As... payment."

Qu Jing’s eyes flew wide in disbelief. "So she wasn’t lying!"

Once he processed that, he realized something wasn’t quite right. He looked at the fish, then in the direction Chu Liangyu had disappeared, and asked him, "But... how did she get so many fish here?"

He Yushu ignored him, seeming to have only said that last sentence to explain the situation.

Getting no answer, Qu Jing pouted but didn’t press the matter.

He scooped up another fish and began to chew on it. He was almost halfway through when it occurred to him to ask, "Hey man, you don’t mind if I eat some of your fish, do you?"

"Go ahead. You can have them all."

Qu Jing was halfway through his fish when a bone got stuck between his teeth. He was vigorously trying to pick it out with his fingers when He Yushu’s unexpected words reached him.

He instantly stopped picking at his teeth and asked, "You were joking just now, right? You’re not upset that I ate one of your fish and are being passive-aggressive with me, are you?"

He Yushu laughed in exasperation at his friend’s suspicion. "Take them or leave them."

He turned and walked away, as if having made some kind of decision.

Qu Jing stood stunned for a moment, blinked, then stuffed the rest of the fish into his mouth in one go and hurried after him.

"If you give me all these fish, what will you eat?"

He Yushu paused for a beat before replying, "I’ll eat elk."

"WHAT!?"

Qu Jing was both shocked and confused, but after a moment’s thought, he figured out the reason he was doing this.

"My good brother, go for it! Your big bro here supports you!"

"Speaking of which, how did you end up becoming such a picky eater anyway?"

Qu Jing clicked his tongue and marveled, "You’d rather starve to death than eat anything else. You really are stubborn."

"If you ask me, you must have been a donkey in a past life."

He Yushu was confused. "Why a donkey?"

"Haven’t you heard? Among all the Beastmen, donkeys are the most stubborn!"

Qu Jing had an incredibly low bar for humor. He started laughing at his own joke and couldn’t stop.

His response was a fist that whistled through the air. The next moment, the laughter stopped abruptly—but it hadn’t disappeared. Instead, it had merely moved to He Yushu’s face.

"I’m a picky eater because of what happened when I was little..."

The smile on He Yushu’s face faded. In his clear, elegant voice, he slowly explained, word by word, "When I was young, I was small and weak, so my siblings always bullied me."

"After it happened enough times, my Beast Father and Beast Mother found out. My siblings were punished, but they thought I was the one who snitched, so they came to hate me."

"So they found a different way to bully me..."

He Yushu’s mood grew heavy as he seemed to get lost in his childhood memories.

Although Qu Jing was intensely curious, he couldn’t bear to pick at someone’s old wounds. Seeing his friend’s state, he quickly interrupted, "If you don’t want to talk about it, don’t. Just hearing this makes me feel awful for you."

"They came up with another method—they made me eat constantly, without stopping unless they gave me permission."

He Yushu shook his head, indicating he was fine, and continued his story.

"Every time they were caught, they’d claim they just wanted me to eat more so I’d grow strong and not be so skinny, as compensation for bullying me before."

"After they said that, my Beast Father and Beast Mother didn’t press the issue. They actually believed my siblings had seen the error of their ways."

He Yushu let out a breath and went on, "But not only did I not get stronger, the constant eating made me develop an aversion to all food."

"But my Beast Father and Beast Mother just thought I was a lost cause, wasting the food my siblings had hunted."

Actually, He Yushu didn’t blame them. At least they had stopped the bullying in the beginning. It was only later, when his siblings’ methods became so insidious, that his parents failed to notice.

Besides, he had many siblings, so it was unlikely they would focus their attention on a cub like him who had no outstanding qualities.

"They force-fed me everything imaginable—everything except grass carp. That’s why I won’t eat anything else."

"Other foods make me feel sick. They always remind me of that unbearable past."

Voicing these things he had kept buried deep inside, He Yushu felt his heart lighten considerably, the oppressive weight finally gone.

However, an untimely sobbing sound reached his ears.

It was a rumbling, snorting sound, like someone passing gas, or maybe blowing their nose. In short, it was a very strange noise.

"What are you crying about?"

Qu Jing let out a HOWL and threw his arms around him, crying, "My brother, your life has been too miserable!"

"Are those siblings of yours still around? I’ll go kill them all for you, every last one of them!"

’They’re completely deranged! They’re all siblings, how could they be so malicious? They’re not even human. Their deaths would be no great loss.’

’If my brother hadn’t been lucky, he probably wouldn’t have survived until now.’

"They’re all gone."

"All gone?"

For a moment, Qu Jing’s brain failed to process this. He asked subconsciously, thinking He Yushu was just trying to stop him from taking revenge on his behalf.

"Mhm. I killed them all."

Qu Jing’s sobs vanished, replaced by a booming laugh as he slapped He Yushu hard on the back. "That’s my little bro! A job well done!"

"Don’t you think I’m a bit cold and heartless?"

Qu Jing rolled his eyes, looking at him as if he were an idiot. "It’s not like I’m a moron. Besides, they never treated you like family, so why should you have shown them any mercy?"
