Since they were going to rest for the night, and both of them were exhausted, they decided to find a nearby cave to stay in.

Seeing her leaning against the wall, Xiang Qiancheng thoughtfully gathered some soft grasses to make a cushion for her.

He then gathered some dry firewood to warm the cave. Only after the fire was going did he clap the dust from his hands, stand up, and say, "Female Master, I’m going to find us something to eat. I’ll be back shortly."

Chu Liangyu glanced at the waning wind and snow outside, nodded, and added a word of caution, "Go on. It’s getting dark, so be careful."

After Xiang Qiancheng left, the cave fell silent. The CRACKLE and POP of the firewood was the only sound.

The gradually rising temperature in the cave was incredibly comfortable. Listening to the sounds of the fire, Chu Liangyu leaned against the wall and drifted off to sleep.

In her sleep, she could hear Xiang Qiancheng dragging back his hunt, and the soft sounds of him carefully preparing it.

She didn’t know how long she had been asleep, but she was awoken by the fragrant aroma of cooking food.

She still felt tired, but it was much better than before she had slept.

And now, she was also a little hungry.

The instant her breathing changed as she woke, Xiang Qiancheng noticed.

He turned his head and held out a large deer leg to her, his voice gentle. "The meat is freshly roasted. Eat, Female Master, then you can sleep some more. It’s not dawn yet."

"Mm, okay."
