Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 143 - 142: Unlocking Another Use for the Clone

Day had just broken, and training hadn’t started yet. When Chu Liangyu returned to the courtyard, her doppelganger was still in bed.

Taking the black stone from the doppelganger, Chu Liangyu examined it carefully. At the same time, she gathered energy in her palm and then clenched her fist.

But, strangely, the stone remained completely intact, showing no change whatsoever.

This was even slightly more powerful than the runes Ye Han had drawn when he hid his heart inside a stone. Chu Liangyu, who initially hadn’t been very interested, now found her curiosity piqued.

’Since ordinary energy doesn’t work, I’ll try injecting some Creation Power.’ With that thought, Chu Liangyu took action.

The result, however, was that the stone remained unchanged.

This was energy capable of granting an ordinary Beastman an ancestral bloodline and abilities. It was an outrageously powerful substance, and even Chu Liangyu could only cultivate a tiny sliver of it every three years. And yet, even that had no effect on this thing.

"Tsk... What kind of treasure could be this well-protected?"

Chu Liangyu was growing impatient. The only thing she hadn’t tried was the Power of Faith. If that didn’t work, it would be truly ridiculous.

After all, if Ye Han had possessed this kind of power, he wouldn’t have died at her hands.

A golden light with a sacred aura quickly enveloped the pigeon-egg-sized black stone. However, in just an instant, the runes on it were completely eroded by the Power of Faith, and the stone shattered with a crack, despite no external force.

A blood-red mist surged out from within. The thick, bloody stench made Chu Liangyu sneeze. When she looked up again, black needles were floating in the bloody mist.

Chu Liangyu counted them—there were about thirteen needles. The chill seeping from them struck directly at the soul. Anyone with a weak will could easily have their mind influenced by them.

’So this was the weapon Ye Han was forging. I can’t believe I stumbled upon it.’

Using resentment to forge a weapon was a novel method indeed. Chu Liangyu had never seen anyone do it before, but she imagined it wasn’t an easy task.

Otherwise, Ye Han would have succeeded long ago. For some unknown reason, she’d never seen him use it before his death.

’Perhaps it wasn’t finished yet, or maybe he forgot about it?’

But whatever the reason, the item was in her hands now, which meant it was hers.

Without hesitation, she made a cut on her finger, squeezed out a few drops of blood, and flicked them toward the black needles.

After a flash of dark red light, a spectral image of the silver needles appeared in Chu Liangyu’s sea of consciousness. This meant she could now control them.

Besides the Thunder Spirit, these needles were the second combat-assisting item she had obtained recently. It was a pretty good haul.

Owning them was one thing; now she needed to spend time mastering their use, especially discovering all the ways to use these black needles.

At Chu Liangyu’s thought, the needles obediently fell into her palm, shrinking to less than half their size. The soul-chilling cold they had emitted also vanished without a trace.

She couldn’t just keep calling them ’the black needles.’ After some thought, Chu Liangyu gave them a name: "Hmm, I’ll call you the Soul Chasing Needle."

Their soul-shaking effect was so obvious, the name probably had something to do with their function. In that sense, it was a fitting name.

Chu Liangyu had the Soul Chasing Needle circle her hand a few more times. When she had played with them enough, she put them away in her Storage Bracelet.

Glancing at the sky outside, she saw it was about time for everyone to start training. Chu Liangyu woke her doppelganger and hung the storage bag full of herbs she’d brought back on her.

After checking everything over, Chu Liangyu remembered the headband Xiang Qiancheng had mentioned and gave that to the doppelganger as well, along with the hairpin Feng Qiwu had given her before.

After giving the doppelganger everything she could think of, Chu Liangyu kept only the Storage Bracelet containing her own necessities.

It wasn’t that she was afraid people would notice something was off due to the length of her hair. Rather, Chu Liangyu wanted to use her doppelganger to handle trivial matters while she herself stayed in the courtyard to focus on improving her strength.

Sending her doppelganger to the training grounds, Chu Liangyu began her own cultivation.

She had previously expended a great deal of Creation Power to detoxify those Beast Husbands. Lately, she had been too busy with trivial matters to cultivate, so this deficit had remained.

If her Creation Power ran out, she would be no different from an ordinary Beastman and would lose the right to contend for the position of Beast God—which also meant she would be ineligible to become this world’s Guardian.

As it was, while she wasn’t completely empty, her energy was not as full as before. Therefore, cultivation was a necessity.

"Sister Liangyu, good morning!"

Just as she arrived at the training grounds, Chu Liangyu saw Xiong Jiaojiao walking over from not too far away, waving at her with a huge smile.

Influenced by her positive energy, Chu Liangyu smiled back and said, "Good morning."

The two of them weren’t the first to arrive. Before them, quite a few people had already gathered at the training grounds.

"Good morning, Chief!"

As she walked toward Xiong Jiaojiao, many tribe members greeted her. Chu Liangyu didn’t feel impatient and responded to each of them in turn.

"Jiaojiao, take this. These are rare and exotic herbs I collected while I was away. I promised I’d find some for you, and now I’m making good on that promise."

Chu Liangyu untied the storage bag from her waist and handed it to her. After explaining how to open it, she let her look inside.

Xiong Jiaojiao, however, only glanced at the pattern on the storage bag without inspecting it further. Instead, she asked, "Sister Liangyu, you’re back?"

"I’m back." Chu Liangyu knew what she meant by that question, so she didn’t hide it and nodded in acknowledgment.

Xiong Jiaojiao was a little confused. "But Sister Liangyu, your hair... how..."

"The one before you is still my doppelganger. I’m in the courtyard right now, focusing on improving my strength. I’m just having the doppelganger help me with trivial matters."

Realization dawned on Xiong Jiaojiao, and Chu Liangyu’s actions instilled a sense of urgency in her. "Sister Liangyu is right. I should also focus on improving my strength."

Seeing her reaction, Chu Liangyu’s eyes revealed a hint of gratification. "Then you’d better hurry up. I’ll be checking on your progress in a while."

As they were speaking, Xiang Qiancheng passed by not far from them. Chu Liangyu merely glanced at him before looking away.

Xiang Qiancheng, however, stood there for a long time. Connecting this with the things he had heard after returning to the tribe, he seemed to have realized something.

Ever since Chu Liangyu found out that guy had the nose of a dog, she constantly reminded herself to completely conceal her main body’s aura, even within the tribe.

It was to prevent him from bothering her every day because of it; if that happened, it would be awkward for her to drive him away.
