Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 22 - 21: Because I’m Beautiful"I was just thinking of coming to find you, but I didn’t expect you to walk in here on your own."
Yin Muli had already let go of her and was walking ahead. Chu Liangyu felt her way along behind him.
"Do you know why I captured you?"
"Because I’m beautiful?"
Yin Muli fell silent, seemingly speechless. "Because when we fought that day, I sensed an energy on you—the same as the Barrier around the King’s Mask."
"And you... might be able to help me get the mask."
"And what if I can’t get it?"
The footsteps stopped. Yin Muli seemed to glance back at her. "Then there’s no use in keeping you alive."
"What do you want the mask for?"
"That’s none of your business."
Chu Liangyu would not give up the mask, which meant a confrontation with Yin Muli was inevitable.
If they fought, the outcome would be uncertain.
But as long as she could complete the trade, the Invisibility Talisman would allow her to leave without a sound.
A stone pillar stood in the lower part of the cave. The King’s Mask had the basic shape of a mask, but its material and thinness were like a cicada’s wings.
A faint purple light enveloped it, and just looking at it made one’s heart palpitate.
Chu Liangyu worried she would shatter it the moment she picked it up. The mask looked so incredibly fragile; she couldn’t be blamed for thinking so.
"Channel your power. Just like last time, wrap yourself in it."
"Then, try to go in and bring the item out to me."
He knew Chu Liangyu might not be cooperative, so he added, "Your cub is still in my hands. Besides, this is my territory. I trust you’re a smart woman and know what to do."
"Of course. I certainly know what to do."
As Chu Liangyu passed through the Barrier, she felt a cool sensation, like walking through a curtain of water.
Up close, the mask radiated a silvery, lustrous sheen. It was fragile yet beautiful.
Chu Liangyu tentatively touched it and found it wasn’t as easy to break as she had thought.
Emboldened, she picked up the mask with both hands. Almost simultaneously, a voice sounded in her mind.
[Initiate trade?]
"Quick, give it to me!"
The Barrier vanished the moment she picked up the mask, and Yin Muli was already by her side.
She was about to agree to the system’s trade without hesitation, but the mask suddenly slipped from her grasp, transformed into a transparent little fish, and disappeared between her eyebrows.
"What did you do!"
Yin Muli’s expression changed in an instant. He waved a hand in front of her face.
Only then was he forced to admit that the mask was gone.
Or rather, that Chu Liangyu had taken it by some unknown means.
For a moment, Chu Liangyu felt as if she were suffocating underwater, and then she lost consciousness completely.
In Yin Muli’s eyes, Chu Liangyu began her Beastification.
Huge black wings enveloped her, and a totem on her forehead emanated a faint blue light.
Her expression was different from before, now unnaturally cold.
She looked at Yin Muli as if he were an ant, her eyes filled with contempt.
As far as he knew, the King’s Mask did nothing more than reconstruct one’s body, causing a complete transformation.
As a male, his impotence had been a thorn in his side for years.
Otherwise, he never would have returned to this place. But now, his last hope was gone.
’Am I going to be like this for the rest of my life?’
’No, I won’t accept this!’
"Give it back to me!"
WHOOSH! Eagle talons slashed mercilessly toward Chu Liangyu.
A wave of energy erupted from around Chu Liangyu. Before he could even get close, Yin Muli was sent flying.
His massive body slammed violently against the cave wall, and the already unstable cavern began to shake.
Dirt pattered down from above, and the cave looked as if it was about to collapse.
Chu Liangyu raised a hand. A powerful force shot straight up, blasting through the roof of the cave and creating a massive opening.
With a gentle flap of her black wings, Chu Liangyu was out of the cave in the next instant.
She tilted her head, standing for a long time as she gazed in one direction, her thoughts unknown.
"You have some nerve, stealing our clan’s Holy Artifact! Hand it over!"
Father Yin sensed the commotion and rushed over with his men, only to find the female his son had brought back.
He had never seen an adult female undergo Beastification. A strange feeling instantly enveloped him.
"Who are you?"
Father Yin’s fingers trembled slightly as he answered uncontrollably, "I am the former leader of the Golden Eagle Clan."
"This object was mine to begin with. How can you call it stealing?"
"This is the Holy Artifact our clan has guarded for generations! How could it possibly be yours?"
Chu Liangyu did not explain. She simply said, "Block my path, and you die."
"You!"
He had never met such an arrogant person in his entire life. The rising flames of his anger completely suppressed the trace of unease he had felt.
"Men, attack!"
A dozen or so giant Golden Eagles circled in the air, instantly surrounding Chu Liangyu so tightly there was no escape.
"Fall."
The single word left Chu Liangyu’s crimson lips, and all the Golden Eagles plummeted from the sky as if their wings had been clipped.
They tried to fly again but found they couldn’t feel their own wings, even though the wings were right there.
’How could this be!’
The giant eagles fell into chaos, hopping about on their talons while their wings hung uselessly, refusing to move an inch.
Father Yin stared at Chu Liangyu in terror, shaking uncontrollably, and involuntarily fell to his knees.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Please, spare us!"
"It’s all my fault! Please don’t kill them. If you must kill someone, kill me!"
He had never been so humbled. But his clansmen were what he had sworn to protect his entire life; he couldn’t let so many of them die because of his order.
In the face of such overwhelming power, he was helpless. All he could do was kowtow and beg her to show mercy.
Chu Liangyu, as powerful as a goddess, glanced down at the crowd. "Fine."
As she spoke, blood began to pour from Father Yin’s eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, flowing faster and faster.
No matter what he tried, the bleeding wouldn’t stop. In just a few moments, Father Yin died from blood loss.
The air grew still. Everyone stared at Chu Liangyu, their faces filled with terror.
No one dared to speak. They even held their breath, afraid of drawing her attention.
Her black wings flapped once more, and Chu Liangyu lifted off the ground, about to head in a certain direction.
"Beast Mother, take me with you! What about me!" The little fox scrambled on its four paws, shouting up at Chu Liangyu as it ran.
Chu Liangyu paused. Seeing the cub on the ground, a memory seemed to flash through her mind.
Because of that fragment of memory, Chu Liangyu picked up the little fox and took it with her as she left.
"SOB... Former Clan Leader, you died such a miserable death..."
The suppressed emotions of the eagles burst forth. Some were genuinely grieving for Father Yin.
Others were grieving for their own crippled bodies. The atmosphere was incredibly complex.
At the unnoticed cave entrance, Yin Muli struggled to climb out.
He knew what the crowd was crying about, but he only gave them a passing glance.
North. That was the direction she had gone.
Yin Muli shifted into his beast form and spread his wings, chasing after her.
"Young Clan Leader, that person is too powerful! Even if you want to avenge the former clan leader, you must wait..."
"Young Clan Leader, come back! If you leave, no one will be left to lead us."
"That’s right! If you leave your Beast Mother all alone, she’ll be heartbroken."
Similar pleas continued, but Yin Muli was unmoved, leaving the crowd with only the sight of his determined back.

A long time later, a shimmering, iridescent Phoenix descended, carrying a giant basket.
