Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 32 - 31: Hello, Handsome World SpiritChu Liangyu relaxed and walked up to the barrier to meet his gaze.
"Do you still remember me?"
"Huh? How did you get here?"
That’s right, this was the World Spirit who had helped her once before.
Chu Liangyu was grateful to him and hadn’t expected to see him again so soon.
"How can I help you get out?"
The World Spirit, however, suddenly grew wary. He glanced around and lowered his voice. "You’re still too weak right now. You can’t help me."
"On the contrary, it’s you who needs to protect yourself. Don’t reveal your beast form so easily!"
"Why?"
"That’s not something you should know right now. Just remember this: you must become stronger! It would be best to develop a faction of your own. It will help you in the future."
Developing her own faction was an idea that had recently occurred to Chu Liangyu, so his words happened to coincide with her own thoughts.
"Why are you trapped in here?"
"Because I did some things that violated the rules. I can’t tell you the details."
Chu Liangyu nodded, not pressing the issue.
"Alright, it’s not good for you to stay here too long. You should leave quickly."
His words were both a warning and an order to leave.
In the next instant, a flash of white light blinded them. When they opened their eyes again, they were already outside the palace.
They instinctively looked back toward where the palace had been, but the area had returned to pitch darkness. There was no sign that a palace had ever existed.
Everything they had just seen felt like an Illusion Realm. They exchanged a look, a silent understanding passing between them.
Chu Liangyu grabbed her and continued swimming upward.
Gradually, the light grew brighter, and the scenery of the sea unfolded before their eyes.
The whole ocean was like the richest of color palettes, constantly capturing their attention.
Legend told of a creature with the ears and trunk of an elephant, the tail of a whale, and a coat of thick, long, white fur.
The Beastmen named this species Trenke, but they were exceedingly rare. Not one in ten thousand Beastmen had ever seen one.
But today, Chu Liangyu and Xiong Jiaojiao had the good fortune to be that one-in-ten-thousand exception!
This species was said to be the hegemon of the ocean, but they had a gentle temperament and never attacked Beastmen.
Chu Liangyu, however, suspected they might just have social anxiety, and that was why they didn’t attack Beastmen.
Just now, as Chu Liangyu was focused on swimming upward, an unidentified creature had suddenly darted out and sent her flying!
It dragged Xiong Jiaojiao along with her. The two of them tumbled through the water, and it took a long moment before they could regain their balance.
The culprit was watching their sorry state from a short distance away, unmoving.
Beneath its thick fur, its small eyes shone, black and bright.
Although she couldn’t see any expression on its face, Chu Liangyu could sense its nervousness.
"I never thought the hegemon of the ocean would look like this. It’s a bit..."
It was a bit hard to describe. Xiong Jiaojiao didn’t dare finish her sentence. If this creature wasn’t as friendly as the legends claimed, they’d be in trouble.
"Many Beastmen wish they could see one but never get the chance. We’re actually quite lucky today."
Clearly noticing the creature’s awkwardness, Chu Liangyu tactfully said, "Alright, let’s get to shore first."
’That female actually said she was lucky to see me! Ahhh, I’m so happy! I kind of like her, what should I do? Maybe... I should follow them and see?’
While he was still hesitating, the two of them had already vanished.
By the time he realized, it was too late.
’Ah, I missed my chance! Damn it, it’s all my fault for hesitating for so long. What a shame. I wonder if I’ll ever see them again.’
When the two of them surfaced, they were surrounded by a large reef, with no one in sight.
In front of the reef was a small island. It seemed rich in resources, but it didn’t look like any Beastmen had ever been there.
"What now?"
"Let’s eat something and rest for the night. Tomorrow, we’ll figure out how to get back to the tribe."
Xiong Jiaojiao nodded emphatically, clearly in full agreement.
The two walked forward side-by-side. Coconut trees were laden with fruit, and Chu Liangyu stopped. "Have you ever eaten one of these?"
"No, but its shell is so thick. It doesn’t look edible."
Chu Liangyu smiled mysteriously. With a flick of her wrist, her short knife flew from her hand.
CRACK! A coconut fell.
Chu Liangyu picked up her knife and, with a little effort, carved an opening in the coconut shell.
She handed it to Xiong Jiaojiao. "Here, try it."
Xiong Jiaojiao leaned in for a look, but it was pitch-black inside, and she couldn’t see anything.
But seeing Chu Liangyu’s expectant expression, she took it anyway.
With just one sip, Xiong Jiaojiao’s eyes widened in amazement. "This... this is so delicious!"
"And this white stuff, it tastes good too!"
Seeing how much she liked it, Chu Liangyu suddenly felt like she was indulging a child.
"Don’t worry, there are plenty more. You can have as many as you want."
"Mm-hmm, okay!"
Coconuts alone wouldn’t be enough, so the two continued onward.
There were coconut crabs, but they were too small, and Chu Liangyu turned her nose up at them.
Back in her original world, she might have been in the mood to catch them.
But now, it was a waste of time. Chu Liangyu needed a large amount of meat to replenish her energy.
However, after searching for a long time, they found no other beasts on the island besides some small birds.
Left with no choice, they had to turn their attention back to the sea.
Xiong Jiaojiao couldn’t go in the water, so Chu Liangyu had her weave a large net.
The large net was cast into the sea, and Chu Liangyu leaped into the water.
The trident worked its magic again, and Chu Liangyu transformed into a Mermaid.
After swimming for a short while, Chu Liangyu found a school of fish.
She swished her fish tail and swam closer rapidly.
Of course, she wasn’t planning to catch them with her bare hands; instead, she herded the fish toward the net woven from vines.
The startled school of fish swam forward. Chu Liangyu just blocked them whenever they strayed, and before long, the net was full.
Each of these fish came up to Chu Liangyu’s navel. They would certainly be enough to eat.
So, she didn’t linger and headed straight for the shore.
"Sister Liangyu, you’re amazing!"
"Look, these fish are enough to feed us for three days, no problem!"
Chu Liangyu walked over to help drag the fish ashore, teasing, "What, you want to stay here for a few more days?"
"Hehe, that wouldn’t be so bad."
This place was a good spot for a secluded life, but it wasn’t suitable for them.
They still had unfinished business, so this place did not belong to them.
After a delicious all-fish feast, the two lay on the beach to rest, utterly satisfied.
Chu Liangyu still had questions on her mind, and now was a good opportunity to ask.
She turned her head, looked at Xiong Jiaojiao, and asked, "I guessed it was that group who kidnapped you, but I don’t understand why they insisted on bringing you to the East Sea."
"They discovered traces of my kinsmen in the East Sea and had been searching for days without finding them."
"Then, on that day in Ten Thousand Beasts City, they saw me and decided to use me to lure them out."
So that was it. The question in Chu Liangyu’s heart was finally answered.
"By the way, when I saw you, why did it seem like you’d lost your mind?"
"And you had even reverted to your original form."
Xiong Jiaojiao’s eyes went blank for a moment, as if she wasn’t too clear on it either.
"That day, they used some methods to torture me. I passed out, and after that, I don’t remember anything."
