Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 41 - 40: Thrilling Battle’What the hell is going on? Can someone please tell me why this female is so ferocious!’
He’d seen all kinds of females, but this was the first time he’d ever met one as savage as Chu Liangyu.
"Stop! I’ll talk, I’ll talk!"
"I was supposed to bring you before the Master and let him deal with you."
’The Master?’
Chu Liangyu’s confusion only deepened.
"What’s your relationship?"
"A partnership. He helps us get revenge, and we do his dirty work."
"Do you know his origins?"
Chu Liangyu saw him open his mouth as if to say something, but for a long moment, no sound came out. She thought he was messing with her.
Chu Liangyu viciously stabbed her dagger into his wrist. "Do you think it’s fun to make me guess?"
A blood-curdling scream erupted with her movement, so sharp it made Chu Liangyu’s eardrums ache.
The screaming only subsided when he ran out of strength.
Then, he suddenly spat out a large mouthful of blood, his head lolled to the side, and just like that, he died.
"Sister Liangyu... did you go too far?"
After a moment of silence, Xiong Jiaojiao couldn’t help but ask.
"No."
Chu Liangyu had held back. As for how the man had died, she had a good idea.
’The mysterious man must have used some kind of method. The moment someone intends to reveal information about him, they drop dead.’
Now that the man was dead, there was no way for Chu Liangyu to find out anything else.
Wiping the blood from her dagger, Chu Liangyu slowly stood up.
"We need to get back quickly. I’m worried this is a ploy to lure the tiger from the mountain. Hu Qiumu might be in danger."
This stretch of sea was different from the East Sea. It was dotted with small islands, and they could even see Beastmen coming and going on them.
They didn’t need boats to travel between the islands; they just had to transform into their beast forms.
Most were Beastmen who lived in the sea, with a few avian Beastmen as well.
They seemed to live together harmoniously, but for the most part, they were busy hunting on their own, with very little interaction.
"Sister Liangyu, look!"
Xiong Jiaojiao cried out in alarm, and Chu Liangyu looked in the direction she indicated.
A thick fog was rising rapidly around the small island they were on, without any warning.
The fog was like a Barrier, trapping the two of them inside and gradually obscuring their view of the outside.
The two instinctively went back-to-back, warily surveying their surroundings.
Within the thick, cloud-like fog, a dark figure slowly approached.
As the figure drew closer, both of them felt an oppressive pressure.
It was the kind of pressure that belonged to the truly powerful, and it deeply unsettled them.
"That’s him, Sister Liangyu."
"You mean..."
Before Chu Liangyu could finish, the man was already in front of them.
He wore a black cloak, and the half of his face visible beneath the hood revealed a delicate jawline, but his skin was deathly pale.
The cloak, which should have concealed his figure, instead hinted at broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Coupled with his superior height, he was the very picture of an alluringly mysterious man.
But Chu Liangyu and Xiong Jiaojiao were on high alert; they were in no mood to appreciate his appearance.
"So, you really didn’t die."
Though she couldn’t see his face clearly, Chu Liangyu could feel his gaze fixed upon her.
Chu Liangyu frowned. "I don’t think we know each other, and we certainly don’t have some deep-seated grudge."
After a pause, she added, "Why did you destroy my tribe and kill so many of my young ones?"
The man in black studied her silently, showing no intention of answering her questions.
Chu Liangyu had the lingering, unshakable feeling of being watched by a venomous snake.
Suppressing her revulsion, she gave Xiong Jiaojiao a look, then unleashed her Taiyin Fist, launching the first attack.
Just like the others, the man in black paid her attack no mind, not even flinching.
A flicker of joy went through Chu Liangyu’s heart, along with the thought, ’So this man in black is nothing special after all.’
But her joy lasted only a moment before the smile froze on her face.
A pair of enormous white wings appeared behind the man in black, blocking her attack completely.
Her punch carried immense force—it could send even someone with Xiong Xianhui’s mountain-like physique flying—yet this man hadn’t moved an inch, and there wasn’t a single scratch on his wings.
After a moment of shock, Chu Liangyu immediately dodged to the side as countless vines shot out from behind Xiong Jiaojiao to attack.
But the man’s wings were as tough as steel. Xiong Jiaojiao failed to inflict any real damage, aside from... knocking loose a few feathers.
Seeing this, Chu Liangyu gripped her dagger and charged him again.
"Hmph. You overestimate yourself."
Chu Liangyu’s dagger struck a barrier, and a tremendous force sent her flying backward.
"Sister Liangyu!"
Seeing that she was about to crash into the reefs, Xiong Jiaojiao cried out and immediately sent a portion of her vines to save her.
Before she hit the ground, the vines wrapped around Chu Liangyu and set her down gently.
She gave Jiaojiao a nod to show she was all right, and her attention snapped back to the man in black.
She had a Mid Tier Defense Magic Robe and wasn’t afraid of close-quarters attacks, which was why she had been so bold.
Chu Liangyu returned to Xiong Jiaojiao’s side. "Call them back. It’s useless against him."
Continuing would just be a waste of energy. Xiong Jiaojiao understood this and immediately retracted her vines.
The two sides faced each other in a tense standoff.
"Are you finished?"
"Then it’s my turn."
The enormous white wings unfurled. With a gentle flap, countless feathers shot toward them like sharp arrows, blanketing the sky.
Chu Liangyu’s pupils contracted. She warned Xiong Jiaojiao, "Vines!"
"Got it, Sister Liangyu."
A dense layer of vines enveloped the two of them. The feathered arrows struck the vines, creating a dense, rapid patter like rain on banana leaves.
The vines snapped one by one, but Xiong Jiaojiao tirelessly replaced them, so for the time being, they were safe inside.
But as time went on, the speed at which Xiong Jiaojiao could replenish the vines gradually fell behind the speed of the man in black’s attack.
The man in black’s attack rate never slowed; if anything, it was getting faster.
Chu Liangyu watched with a furrowed brow, her heart filled with anxiety, unable to think of a better solution.
Suddenly, the trident on her wrist flew out before her eyes, transforming into a ball of white light.
The white light dissipated, and the trident returned to its original form.
Chu Liangyu grabbed it without hesitation. At the same time, a blue light flashed in her eyes.
Knowledge of how to use the trident flooded her mind. Steeling herself, Chu Liangyu said, "Retract the vines."
Xiong Jiaojiao hesitated for a moment but still retracted the vines and stood by Chu Liangyu’s side.
Chu Liangyu gently waved the trident, and the surrounding seawater began to move at her command.
They were enveloped in seawater. When the feathered arrows hit the water, it was as if their force was neutralized; they were swept up by the current and carried away.
For a moment, they were encased in a swirling shield of water and feathers, as if protected beneath a warm, winged embrace.
This move was completely unexpected. The man in black let out a soft "oh?" and raised an eyebrow, though his expression remained impassive.
He stopped his attack and watched Chu Liangyu wield the trident with great interest.
’Got your weapon back so soon? That’s actually surprising.’
’But with your current abilities, how long can you possibly last?’
A smirk touched his lips. He was suddenly in no hurry to kill them. ’After all, watching them struggle is pretty fun, isn’t it?’
’Back then, I never would have had the power to push her this far.’
