Arlan did not back down, Elira then started walking towards Arlan, ready to throw hands but just then—

Veylara spoke in her usual, cold tone and the next instant—

Both Elira and Arlan instantly straightened like soldiers. Kael looked at the two siblings and couldn’t help but smile, Lavinia was no different, no matter what she felt about them, she sure missed... this.

Lavinia smiled lightly and for a moment, the air turned heavier. The Stormholds looked at Lavinia and couldn’t help but remember the time she was called ’corrupted’ and was exiled from the Kingdom.

There must truly be a lot of things the woman in front of them wished for, huh...

"Lavinia..."

Elira called out, looking at her friend with a complicated expression. She was happy to see her, very, very happy actually, but at the same time, she was also guilty. She didn’t know how she was supposed to show her face when she didn’t do anything to help her friend when she needed help the most.

Lavinia nodded at her. For a moment, Elira did not say anything, she was too overwhelmed by her emotions.

She spoke calmly, gently patting Elira’s back. Elira’s body trembled even more strongly, her eyes turned moist, a drop of tear rolled down her eyes.

"You don’t have to apologise, it wasn’t your fault. There was nothing you or I could do."

Even she did not know how desperately she wanted to hear those words, how desperately she wanted to just... talk to Lavinia.

She spoke, still wiping her eyes, Lavinia only smiled at her, then, as if she suddenly recalled something, Elira’s expression changed and she—

"But!"

She raised her voice as she looked at Lavinia, then—

"Why did you marry HIM!?"

She spoke as she pointed at Kael.

That made Kael raise an eyebrow.

"What’s wrong wi—"

He wasn’t even given time to defend himself as Elira grabbed Lavinia’s hands and—

"You are Lavinia Dragonborn! The most beautiful woman in this world! A never-seen-before genius! Someone who has affinity with ALL elements in the World! Why would you marry a monkey-looking man like him!?"

She couldn’t believe it.

Heck, if she could, she was very ready to throw hands and free her friend from this man’s clutches.

She was very clearly way above Kael’s league.

And Kael—

As he heard those words, his mouth twitched.

He called out.

"Stay away from my Lavinia."

He spoke as he grabbed Lavinia’s hand and pulled her towards him.

Elira did not let her go, instead, she glared at Kael, at his hand holding Lavinia’s hand, then back at him.

"Unhand her."

"I will not."

Kael didn’t back down, not this time.

"Kael Carter, I am telling you. I will burn you alive."

"And Elira Stormhold, I am telling you, you are not strong enough."

Kael stood tall.

"You really want to have a go!?"

Elira snapped.

"Come at me, I’ve been wanting to punch you for a while now.

And while we are at it, how about we make a bet?
