Liam soon spotted a small group of Goblins moving through the forest.
There were three of them, and all of them were around Level 10.
Liam looked at Miriel.
"They’re close to your level, so they’ll be good opponents for you."
Miriel nodded and drew her sword.
Liam flew higher into the air and watched from above.
"Go ahead and fight them."
"Even if you end up on the verge of death, I can save you, so don’t hold back."
"Fight with all your strength."
Miriel nodded firmly.
"I understand."
She stepped forward and approached the three Goblins.
The Goblins noticed her almost immediately.
They raised their crude weapons and rushed toward her.
Miriel tightened her grip on her sword.
She was nervous, but Liam’s words gave her confidence.
The first Goblin swung its wooden club toward her head.
Miriel quickly stepped to the side and avoided the attack.
She followed with a sword slash across its chest.
The Goblin staggered backward.
Miriel immediately used Triple Strike.
Three consecutive sword strikes landed almost at the same time.
The Goblin collapsed before it could recover.
The other two Goblins attacked from both sides.
Miriel blocked one attack with her sword and jumped backward to avoid the other.
She then raised her free hand.
"Fireball!"
A large fireball flew toward one of the Goblins and struck it directly.
The explosion knocked the Goblin several meters away.
Miriel quickly rushed toward the remaining Goblin.
She gathered mana around her sword.
"Magic Blade!"
Her blade became covered in a layer of sharp mana.
She swung it forward and used Piercing Strike.
The attack pierced through the Goblin’s weapon and struck its chest.
The Goblin fell to the ground.
Miriel turned toward the final Goblin.
It was already injured from the Fireball, but it still tried to run away.
Miriel chased after it and finished the fight with another sword strike.
Three notifications appeared before her.
[ You have defeated Goblin (Level 10). ]
[ Experience +18 ]
[ You have defeated Goblin (Level 10). ]
[ Experience +18 ]
[ You have defeated Goblin (Level 9). ]
[ Experience +16 ]
Miriel stood still for a moment while looking at her sword.
She had defeated three monsters by herself.
Liam flew down beside her.
"Not bad."
"Your skills are much stronger than your actual combat experience."
"You need to learn how to use them naturally during a fight."
Miriel nodded.
"I understand."
"I’ll keep practicing."
Liam looked deeper into the forest.
"There should be more monsters nearby."
"Let’s continue."
Miriel followed him without hesitation.
This time, she felt much more confident than before.
Liam continued leading Miriel deeper into the forest.
As they moved farther from the area where they had started, the number of monsters gradually increased.
Liam occasionally stopped to let Miriel fight another group by herself.
Most of the monsters were between Level 10 and Level 15, which made them suitable opponents for her current strength.
Miriel slowly became more comfortable with her new abilities.
At first, she relied heavily on her swordsmanship and used her skills only when necessary.
After several battles, she began combining her skills naturally.
She would use Fireball to force an enemy away, close the distance while it was recovering, and then finish it with Triple Strike or Piercing Strike.
When facing multiple enemies, she used Magic Blade to strengthen her sword while carefully watching their movements.
Liam observed her from the air.
"Her skills are powerful, but her biggest weakness is still her combat experience."
"She needs more actual battles."
Another group of Goblins appeared ahead.
This time, there were five of them.
Three carried wooden clubs, while the other two used short bows.
Liam pointed toward them with one of his wings.
"Five this time."
Miriel looked at the Goblins and nodded.
"I can handle them."
"Good. Go ahead."
Miriel immediately rushed forward.
The two Goblin archers fired their arrows.
She quickly moved to the side, allowing the arrows to pass beside her.
One of the melee Goblins reached her and swung its club.
Miriel blocked the attack with her sword before countering with Triple Strike.
The first strike knocked the Goblin’s weapon aside.
The second cut across its shoulder.
The third struck its chest and sent it falling backward.
Another Goblin attacked from behind.
Miriel sensed the movement and turned around just in time to block its club.
She pushed it away and created some distance.
"Fireball!"
A large fireball flew toward the two archers.
The Goblins tried to escape, but the explosion caught both of them.
One was killed immediately.
The other was thrown into a tree and badly injured.
Miriel rushed toward it.
The Goblin tried to stand up, but she used Piercing Strike.
Her sword pierced through its chest.
The remaining two Goblins charged together.
Miriel took a deep breath and waited until they were close.
She stepped between them and swung her sword.
Triple Strike activated.
Three rapid slashes struck the first Goblin.
Before the second could attack, Miriel turned around and finished it with a Magic Blade-enhanced strike.
The battle ended quickly.
Liam nodded from above.
"Much better."
"You didn’t panic this time."
Miriel looked at the defeated Goblins.

"I think I’m starting to understand how to use my skills during actual combat."
"That’s what I wanted."
Liam flew lower.
"Keep fighting like this and you’ll reach Level 30 much faster than expected."
Miriel smiled.
"Then let’s continue."
Liam nodded and looked farther into the forest with his enhanced vision.
He soon noticed several larger figures moving between the trees.
His expression changed slightly.
"Looks like we found something stronger."
Miriel immediately became serious.
"What is it?"
"Orcs."
"There are six of them."
He paused for a moment before adding, "They’re around Level 18."
Miriel tightened her grip on her sword.
"That’s quite a bit higher than my level."
"It is."
Liam looked at her calmly.
"But you don’t need to defeat them all at once."
"I’ll watch from above."
"If things become dangerous, I’ll intervene."
Miriel nodded.
"Then I’ll try."
She slowly walked toward the Orcs.
