Chapter 274 - Crazy Stella and Shizuku

To put it simply, the Ethics Committee played a critical role in the career of any Mage Knight.

For student knights who hadn’t even obtained their official licenses yet, the Committee acted as a deterrent.

To a certain extent, they held the final say in whether a Blazer could become an official professional.

Once the Ethics Committee found dirt on someone, that Blazer was looking at a career-ruining headache.

"If today’s incident had actually involved you, and the Ethics Committee found out, you know better than anyone what the consequences would be," Roy said.

"That..." Ikki opened his mouth, but the words caught in his throat.

Of course he knew.

The Kurogane family had been desperately trying to find a legitimate reason to expel him from Hagun Academy.

If he was caught in an unexplainable, highly inappropriate scandal with his own sister, it would be handed to the Ethics Committee on a silver platter.

"That’s unlikely to happen. No matter what, Shizuku’s status in the Kurogane family is important," Ikki said with a strained smile, trying to suppress the uneasiness in his heart.

Shizuku Kurogane was a B-Rank knight with unlimited potential, highly likely to reach A-Rank in the future.

She was the beloved of the family, likely being groomed to lead the clan one day.

Under normal circumstances, the Kurogane family would never allow their golden child to bear such a disgusting scandal just for the sake of expelling their failure of a son.

The cost to their reputation simply wouldn’t be worth it.

"Who can say? A family that can’t tolerate a genius like you might resort to anything," Roy shrugged.

"Compared to Shizuku, I really am just a piece of trash," Ikki smiled dryly.

He was deeply moved by Roy’s constant recognition of his skills, but hearing the word genius applied to himself still made him feel a bit ashamed.

His aptitude as a Mage Knight was ridiculously low. He couldn’t compare to Shizuku’s raw talent.

"It’s essential to guard against others,’" Roy said with an earnest expression.

"You and Shizuku haven’t seen each other in four years. You have no idea what she’s experienced during that time."

"Maybe you two were close four years ago."

"But living in the main Kurogane household?who knows if she’s been influenced by them?"

"What if she’s developed some twisted prejudice of her own?"

’I just can’t bear to see my friend suffer...’

Ikki’s mood visibly lowered.

If the sister he hadn’t seen in years really harbored some twisted prejudice against him due to the family’s influence, that would be truly devastating.

"Don’t be too sad," Roy smoothly reeled him back in.

"That’s just the worst case scenario. Judging by her joy when she saw you earlier, her feelings aren’t fake. She definitely missed you."

Roy paused, pretending to search for the right words.

Thanks to Roy’s masterclass in psychological persuasion, Ikki’s enthusiasm for reuniting with his sister had been thoroughly doused in cold water.

Not just for his own sake, but to protect Shizuku as well, he resolved to maintain a normal sibling distance.

He would never let a situation like today’s near-miss happen again.

A massive explosion rocked the campus.

The blast echoed through the academy, shaking the ground beneath Roy and Ikki’s feet.

The two boys whipped their heads toward the source of the sound, only to see a thick smoke billowing into the sky.

"This is?!" Ikki stared at the rising smoke with confusion.

The explosion had come from the exact corridor they had just evacuated...the spot where they had left Stella and Shizuku glaring at each other.

Obviously, the two girls had caused this. No normal student could produce an explosion of that magnitude.

With their sharp eyesight, they could see the damage through the drifting smoke.

A massive section of the corridor had been blown apart and collapsed into rubble.

"YOU TWO! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!"

A furious roar echoed across the campus, having the volume of a megaphone.

It was the voice of the Chairwoman, Kurono Shinguuji.

The catfight between the Crimson Princess and the Lorelei had successfully summoned the final boss of Hagun Academy.
