Chapter 276 - You two!

Kurono’s punishment could only be considered light.

If it had been any other students, the penalty wouldn’t have been nearly so light.

At the very least, a week of toilet cleaning would have been upgraded to a month-long suspension.

After all, illegally summoning a Device in front of a massive crowd of students and escalating a brawl to the point of partially destroying an academic building was a severe felony under the academy’s rules.

Fortunately, Kurono’s Noble Art World Clock was a time-manipulation ability.

She could simply rewind the localized time of the damaged corridor, restoring the blown-up marble and structure to its exact previous state.

Had she not been able to do that, the sheer monetary compensation required to repair the damages would have been astronomical.

"I’m so sorry. It’s entirely my fault that the three of you are being punished," Ikki Kurogane sincerely apologized to Roy and Stella once they had exited the Chairwoman’s office and were walking down the hall.

In Ikki’s mind, he was the root cause of this entire disaster.

If he hadn’t been standing there, none of this would have happened.

Therefore, he felt obligated to take responsibility.

"Roy, please, let me handle cleaning the men’s restrooms for the week," Ikki insisted.

He then turned to Stella with a deeply apologetic look.

"I’m truly sorry, Stella. But given the circumstances, I obviously can’t help you with the women’s restrooms."

"Onii-sama, why are you apologizing to them?!"

Seeing her beloved brother bow his head, Shizuku immediately adopted a deeply displeased tone.

She glared at Roy and Stella with dissatisfaction.

Her glare was especially cold when it landed on Roy, looking at him as if there were an irreconcilable feud between them.

She had carefully planned her reunion with her brother for a long time.

She had wanted to give Ikki the ultimate, unforgettable surprise.

But who could have predicted that her flawless plan would be violently derailed by Roy?

Not only had the emotional joy of their long-awaited reunion been ruined but this strange boy had also stolen her first kiss right in front of Ikki’s eyes!

And now, because she had rightfully sought revenge against that big-breasted cow, she had been sentenced by the Chairwoman to clean toilets for a week!

As the princess of the Kurogane family, Shizuku had been treated like future head of the family since childhood.

She was pampered, respected, and had never suffered such humiliating grievances in her entire life.

If they hadn’t literally just walked out of the Chairwoman’s office, she would have frozen Roy into a solid block of ice right then and there.

"You really have a lot of nerve running your mouth, flat chested!" Stella flared up at once, her crimson eyes snapping to Shizuku.

"What are you looking at, big-breasted cow?!" Shizuku snapped back, showing absolutely no sign of weakness.

"Enough, Shizuku. Don’t be so willful and unreasonable," Ikki intervened, stepping between them and scolding his sister with a rare stern tone.

Hearing this, Shizuku’s face froze for a split second.

She clearly hadn’t expected her Onii-sama to take the side of strangers over hers.

But she recovered quickly.

Suppressing her irritation, she forced an elegant smile.

"Since Onii-sama says so, I suppose I won’t bother stooping to their level."

"After all," Shizuku continued, looking lovingly at Ikki, "Today is the day we are finally reunited after four long years."

"We shouldn’t let some irrelevant background characters ruin our good mood."

"As if anyone here actually wants to care about you," Stella scoffed coldly, right away seeing through Shizuku’s artificial sweetness.

Knowing full well that his sister’s compliance was entirely insincere and merely a temporary truce, Ikki could only smile apologetically at Roy and Stella.

Roy shrugged indifferently, completely unbothered by the hostility.

He looked at Ikki.

"I was the one who pulled you out of the way and initiated the chaos."

"The Chairwoman’s punishment is already light. You don’t need to take any responsibility for this. I’ll handle my own punishment."

Hearing Roy take the blame, the sense of guilt in Ikki’s heart only deepened.

Shizuku let out a soft hmph.

"I thought you were just an unreasonable barbarian like this girl but I didn’t expect you to actually be somewhat sensible."

Even though she acknowledged his words, her tone was still filled with hostility and her expression remained cold.

"Since you admit it’s your own fault, then you had better bear the punishment yourself."

"Don’t you dare let my Onii-sama shoulder the burden for you."

"Don’t speak as if you’re completely innocent in all this! In the end, isn’t it entirely because of your own shameless behavior that we’re all in this mess?!" Stella erupted, thoroughly fed up with Shizuku’s victim blaming.

"Shameless?!"

"What right do you two outsiders have to intervene in private family matters between a brother and sister?!"

"Oh, please! If you hadn’t shamelessly lunged forward with your eyes closed and forcefully stolen Roy’s first kiss in the middle of a public hallway, would any of this have happened?!" Stella yelled angrily.

"Do you think I wanted to kiss that guy?!" Shizuku shrieked, exploding the moment the first kiss was mentioned.

"Then give Roy’s first kiss back!" Stella demanded.

The thought that Roy’s first kiss had been stolen by a girl he had known for less than thirty seconds made her stomach churn with furious jealousy.

She wished she had Kurono’s time-manipulation ability just so she could rewind time and erase the incident from existence.

"How exactly am I supposed to return something like that?! Are you a complete idiot?!" Shizuku scream as she glared at Stella.

"You four haven’t even made it out of the building yet, and you’re already shouting again."

"Tell me, do you want to clean toilets for an entire semester?"

Kurono’s voice drifted down the quiet corridor, cutting through the argument...

She was leaning casually against the doorframe of her office, watching them with narrowed eyes.

The four students immediately snapped their mouths shut.

"Behave yourselves," Kurono warned softly.

"If I hear that you two have started brawling in the halls again, I promise you, I will personally contract you to scrub every single women’s restroom across the entirety of Hagun Academy for the rest of the year."

Having delivered her final threat, Kurono turned around and disappeared back into her office.

Thoroughly cowed by the terrifying threat, Stella and Shizuku didn’t dare utter another word.

In complete silence, the four of them quickened their pace, desperate to evacuate the teaching building before the Chairwoman changed her mind.

Cleaning the women’s restrooms in one building for a week was humiliating but it would pass quickly.

Being contracted to scrub all the academy’s restrooms for an entire semester?

They wouldn’t be able to survive that kind of psychological torture.

Once they were safely outside the building and far away from the Chairwoman’s office, the tension finally eased slightly.

"You don’t have to worry too much about the punishment, Stella," Roy said casually, breaking the silence.

"I have a highly specialized cleaning magic. We can finish the sanitation work in a matter of seconds."

Hearing this, Stella’s crimson eyes lit up.

She looked at Roy with pure, unadulterated admiration, remembering how effortlessly he had been with things.
