Endless Evolution As A Skeleton In A Game-Like World
Chapter 108: [108] North’s Final MoveOlivia wordlessly stared at the scene in front of her.
The Emperor’s domain was meant to buff her, and it did just that. She felt far stronger than she had ever felt, she could even summon the dark aura if she wished.
But at the same time... Olivia felt fear.
Just in a single day, she had seen Ark angry twice, but the first time could not even be compared to a fraction of the rage he was feeling at that moment.
’What skill is this?’ How long had he had the skill, and why was it so sinister?
Olivia had no answers, all she could do was pray for her enemies. Pray that Ark would find mercy in the empty space his heart should have been....

"They are just summons of a copper rank player..." The female agent said.
She held her magic staff firmly as the summons approached them with slow, calculated steps.
"I’ll blow them away with one spell! You guys get ready to finish them off!"
They had to back up their captain. Although the skeleton was very much lower in level and rank, she had a bad feeling about him.
There was no such thing as honour in battle, they would all band together to fight the newbie if they had to.
"Fire vortex!" Multiple balls of fire appeared above her head. She raised her staff, commanding her flames, just before launching it right at them.
But just as the fire came, the tank ran forward and planted his shield in the path of the flames.
’Fool!’ She thought, a wide smirk on her face.
There was no way that pitiful shield would block her fire. It would blow through the hunk of metal as though it was cardboard!
"Get ready to attack after that fool gets incinerated—!"
The woman’s words hung in her throat as his shield was consumed by a black matter.
"Is that... aura?!"
BOOOOOM!
The fire pounded into the shield, causing dust and smoke to cloud the area in front of them, and creating a smoke screen that shielded the summons.
"Shit! I can’t see a thing!"
Just as the dust was clearing, her eyes widened as she saw a great ball of fire floating above one of the summons.
The summon held the fire ball with ease, commanding the sea of flames as though she were a grand mage.
"How can... how can a mere summon have so much fire power?!"
VWOOOOOSH!
The summon vanished after launching the attack.
A bitter smile was plastered on the agent’s face as she watched the fire ball tear through the ceiling, before coming down upon them.
"I see..."
The summon had used every single ounce of mana in her body to crush them.
But as ridiculous as it sounded, it was not the fireball that killed her...
While she was preparing a counter for the spell, a pair of golden eyes appeared right in front of her face.
The woman saw a fearsome, demonic mask... just before a dagger slipped up her jaw and into her neck, leaving her to gurgle blood.
Blood splurted out of her mouth as she crumpled to the floor.
One of the agents immediately spun around, his eyes wide with fear and shock.
"How did he get past us?!"
But in that moment of distraction, Mountain was already upon him, bringing the weight of his shield down upon his head.

Ark stared at the sleek katana that was lying in his hands...
He had not chosen the weapon on a whim. He had not picked it out because he thought it looked cool, nor did he decide on it because he had wanted to use it for a very long time.
Ark was too engrossed in his rage to be thinking of fun.
He had chosen the katana because he could be delicate with his carnage.
The pointed tip, the smooth curved blade... it would allow him to take apart his enemies piece by piece, without worrying about doing too much damage at once.
The axe was meant for sheer destruction, the war hammer was meant to break through armour... the spear was meant to keep an enemy at a distance.
But Ark did not want to destroy North too quickly. He did not want to shatter his armour, he was not even wearing armour to begin with.
Ark did not want to keep him at a distance either...
He wanted to be close. Like a lover. He wanted to smell the blood as it gushed out of his veins, he wanted to smell the salty sweat as it poured out of his body.
He wanted to smell his fear, to experience it.
North had touched his friend, as a result it was as good as touching him.
The burns on Thalia’s body were blisters on his bones. The hole through her heart was a sore in his chest.
For every single scream, he would pay back a hundred fold.
That was the only way North could make up for what he had done.
[Race Synchronization has gone up to 35%!]
"Y-you are a mad man!" North suddenly screamed, his eyes wide with fear.
Ark cocked his head to the side. "Oh, did I say that out loud?"
North suddenly rushed forward. His sword glowed blue as he activated his skill, and two copies of him appeared at each side.
Perhaps that skill would have been useful in a normal setting. Maybe he would have executed it more flawlessly if not for the fear gripping him.
But right now? It was pitiful at best.
Ark could see right through it.
And phase through it as well...
He stepped right into his blade and vanished into thin air. North stifled a breath. "Where did he go—"
Swish!
"Argh—!!"
North’s hand fell to the floor beside him, blood pumping out of the wound. He held the wound tightly, whimpering as the spot sizzled.
"What the hell?" He glanced at Ark, only to see him heating up his blade while whistling.
The fire was not made to improve the sharpness of the blade, if anything it dulled it! There was only one reason he had heated up his sword... pain.
But North would not be broken. His mind had been sharpened by the sharpest in the association, he would not fall to the intimidation of a newbie!
The air turned frigid, as though they had been plunged right into the Arctic. Snowflakes began to spin around North, accumulating up until they swirled around him like a storm.
The white tornado ripped through what was left of the roof and rose as high as the skies.
North gritted his teeth, feeling ice crawling onto his face and body.
He was not ready for this skill. It was a technique that had been passed through his family for generations... one that was far too advanced for him to wield.
But with this skill, he would obliterate the evil before him!
His silver eyes flashed white—
And then his aura blossomed like a winter storm.
"WHITE DISASTER!"
He swung his blade, and the snow storm moved with it, charging towards Ark.
But Ark did not take a single move away from the path of the attack. He stood still, as though frozen in place, frozen in fear!
"Hahah! You thought you were all that because of a few flashy skills?!" North screamed into the storm. "What will you do now? What will you do in the face of your doom?!"
"..."
"Is this all?"
"Huh?"
Ark stretched out his hand and grasped the snowstorm, and then North saw a scene that would be forever engraved in his memory.
Everything he had done, right from the hand movements, down to even the most minute actions....
Everything moved in reverse.
His spell ceased, as though it had never been summoned.
And then when he snapped out of the shock of what had happened, Ark was right in front of him, holding the demonic worm in his hand.
"Open up for the plane..." He said in a sinister tone, just before he plunged the worm down his throat.
Then agony, and despair, and grief consumed his soul.
North was lost to himself, and to the world.
