Endless Evolution As A Skeleton In A Game-Like World
Chapter 122: [122] Astral ArenaAs early as 5 AM, Ark and Olivia were out of the inn and onto the quiet streets of Issen.
Ark had managed to register the guild at the association back in Venaris, under the name, KASKET, and had received a guild insignia and a registration number, meaning he was done with his assigned task.
But Thalia’s mission proved to be a little more difficult than his own. There were many dungeons to check, and a ton of applications to write as well.
When he discovered it would be that difficult, Ark offered to help, but Thalia rejected his offer.
According to her, it was better they got some extra training, so that the party could become more equal in terms of strength.
Despite the fact that he had beaten her, Thalia was still at peak bronze rank, while he and Olivia were both in copper...
"So what name did you register the guild under?" Olivia asked from beside him, as they climbed onto the carriage that would take them to their destination.
"Actually..." Ark returned to his skeleton form, so his face was expressionless as he replied. "I winged it."
He hadn’t even thought of a guild name before he visited the association, so when he was asked what he wanted the name to be, he chose the first thing that came to his mind.
"Casket, but with a K..."
Olivia’s eyes narrowed as she stared at him. "You mean, you named our guild after a coffin?"
Ark nodded. "Yes."
"Hmm..." She folded her hand across her chest, her wings beating softly. "Hey, it’s actually not that bad. With a name like Kasket, all these blokes will think twice before crossing us!"
Ark shrugged. "Well, that is one way to look at it." On another note, they might be cursed with bad luck because of the name...
He glanced at the carriage window, watching as the buildings blitzed past.
Although the player count was likely the same as usual, most Natives were still in bed, so the traffic was relatively lower than during the day.
"So, where are we going?"
"Huhu." Olivia smiled proudly as she raised a finger. "You asked me to find a place for us to train, right? Well, I found five, and this is the first one!"
"You mean you found five locations in two days?" That would mean she had been working nonstop ever since he left.
She probably never left Eden...
"Mmmh. Feel free to praise me." She raised the diary Ark had gifted her. "I have them all noted down here, just in case I forget."
"You did a good job."
"Is that all?"
"I’ll buy you anything you want later."
"Hehe, now we are talking!"
After what seemed like a 1-hour ride away from the inn, the carriage immediately came to a halt, and then—
BOOOOOOM!
A loud sound suddenly cut across the area, and then what felt like an earthquake followed, causing the entire carriage to rumble.
The beasts that had been pulling the carriage snarled, their eyes wild with fear as they jumped from place to place.
"Damn it!" The rider hissed as he pulled on the reins to control the monsters, speaking to them in the language of beasts.
"This place is always like this, can’t they quiet down a little bit. It’s just six o’clock—"
BANG—!
The next explosion rippled through space, and a heavy gust of wind slammed into the carriage, rocking it back and forth.
The rider turned to stare at them with sweat sliding down his face. "I’m sorry, but can you get off now? I don’t think I can go any further than this."
Ark slowly glanced at Olivia.
Olivia blinked, staring at him with an innocent smile.
"Just where did you bring me?"
The fact that they had to ride for an entire hour, and that there were now trees in his window view, meant that they were far from the city.
Her smile broadened. "You will find out soon enough." She pulled out five coins from her pocket and placed them in the man’s hands.
"Thanks for the ride again, Carl!" She said, just before pulling Ark out of the carriage with her.
The moment they stepped out, the rider immediately turned around and flung the reins so hard that he practically flew out of the area.
And Ark now knew why—
Not too far away from him was a colossal structure that dwarfed every single building, or stadium they had back in Venaris.
Even before his death, back on Earth, Ark doubted he had ever seen anything so grand.
Far in the distance was a large structure floating several feet away from the floor. It was in the shape of a colossal cube, slowly rotating within five, moving concentric circles.
Crimson light pulsed within those circles, the ancient runes carved within them shining so brightly that he could see them clearly, even from the distance.
Ark could feel the great mana radiating from within the stadium right from where he stood. It was a slight buzz, and a cool feeling that washed over his bones in waves.
He took a step forward and stared at the building in awe.
The Astral Loop.
It was an arena said to have been created by the efforts of the greatest runesmiths and Magitec experts in Eden.
Its core, which powered the entire contraption, was said to be made out of the mana stone of a Mithril-Rank beast, a Continent-level threat.
The Astral Loop was the place where some of the strongest players in Eden gathered to train, work out and spar together.
To gain entry, you needed to either be part of a top guild, or be a Gold Rank player or higher, there were no exceptions.
If Olivia had actually managed to get into a place like this, then she had more than outdone herself.
With a wide, cocky smile on her face, she pulled out two membership cards and waved them in the air.
"What are you waiting for? Let’s go."
Ark ran a hand through his head and sighed. "How?"
Olivia snickered as she started walking towards the arena, just as another deafening explosion rang through the space.
"I know a guy..."

The Astral arena was made out of several compartments that stretched from the extreme edges of the arena to the middle.
Each member was allowed access to a sparring area, as well as magical equipment that they could use to boost their strength.
But officially, there was only one Battle Arena in each level.
The Battle Arena was the place where players went to test their mirth against the very best the Astral Loop had to offer.
Each match was streamed live on the association forum, and worldwide on social media networks, so a good match was enough to earn a player fame and recognition across Eden and Venaris.
In order to move on to a higher level, a player must first make a name for themselves in their level, after which the Astral Masters would promote them to the next one.
Since they were both beginners, Ark and Olivia started at the very first level, Compartment One.
Out of twenty-five...
