"I am Euros, Lord of elementals. Who dares call upon my name?"

Ark gave the man a strange look. "You said that just to sound cool, didn’t you?"

"What?"

"You know why you were summoned, but you used that cliché line just to sound godly..."

The man folded his arms across his chest, his eyes narrowing as he stared at Ark with disdain.

"I don’t know what you are talking about."

’What is wrong with that stupid kid?’ He mused. ’That godly line works every time... but it seems it has no effect on him.’

Ark pointed his sword at the man. "Of course you know what I mean."

"Why are you trying to force words out of my mouth, shortie?"

"S-shortie?!" Steam practically evaporated out of Ark’s skull. "I’ll let you know I am average height!"

"A... deity~?" Thalia thought out loud, her eyes wide in shock as she stared at the being. "Is this w-what you wanted to show us?"

Olivia scratched her head. "What is a deity?"

Thalia did not take her eyes off him as though afraid he would suddenly smite her dead. "A deity is a being that holds near absolute authority over a law, some believe they are on the same level as a god."

’So that is what he is?’ Ark thought after hearing Thalia’s explanation. Judging by the smug look on the man’s face, Thalia was right.

There was little known about deities in general. Most people that met deities were either dead, or had little to say about them.

But research on deities suggested that they were once mortals who rose to divinity...

And because of this, most people believed Divine-rank players were the most likely candidates picked out by the system to strive for that role.

But since there had been no deity in over four hundred years of human history, there was no way to confirm these rumours.

’Can we even be sure there are no deities from Venaris?’ If the top guilds were to produce a deity, would they let the world know?

It was unlikely...

"Hey, if he is a deity, that means he is strong, right?" Olivia smiled. "Then let’s fight him! I’m sure he will be good practice!"

Euros stared at her with a dumbfounded expression, then he turned to Ark.

"This one... is not very bright, is she?"

"Hey!"

"Don’t be rude." Ark sighed. "It’s not her fault, she was born that way."

"Heyy!!"

Olivia grabbed Ark’s neck and squeezed it, but since he did not have lungs to begin with, he simply ignored her and continued his conversation with the deity.

"Deities are really hard to come by. Is it true that you were all once mortals?"

Euros nodded proudly. "Of course!" He chuckled. "Being a deity is so difficult that it is an impossibility, you know? It is only a rank reserved for the most elite beings."

"And yet you made it?" Ark muttered under his breath.

"What was that?"

"Nothing..."

"As I was saying, to become a deity, one must first be a mortal, and steal a law, before ascending to the divine."

"That is why ’godlins’ cannot become deities."

If deities were as powerful and rare as he said, then what was a deity doing inside the system?

Was he somehow in league with the people who created the system, or was there another reason?

Ark would have asked, but he knew he would not get an answer.

"Wait..." It was then Ark realized just what he had said. "Are you saying gods have children?"

Euros blinked. "You really like making assumptions, don’t you?" He immediately did a 180 on his statement.

"Hey, you were the one who mentioned godlins, how is that making assumptions?"

"Godlins? Pfft, what are you even talking about?"

Ark gave him a long blank stare then glanced at Olivia. "I apologize, Olivia, it seems this deity is even denser than yo—"

"Ark~" Thalia’s voice trembled as she immediately used her tail to clamp his mouth shut.

"Please, this isn’t like with Lady Freude! He is an elemental deity, he can wipe us out!" She sharply whispered in his ear.

Ark kept glaring at the deity. "Tch... alright, I’ll behave." He murmured into her tail."

"Promise?" She pleaded.

Ark nodded slowly.

"Alright then, let’s get to business." Euros stared at his Summons and began his explanation.

"The elemental gacha will pick out a random element from one of the hundreds of permissible elements available and infuse it into your undead."

’Permissible elements?’ Ark thought. Did that mean there were elements his summons were not permitted to use?

"When this happens, they will be coated in a colourful aura, but do not assume their element based on their aura."

He paused briefly.

"Colour does not always determine the element. Do you understand?"

Ark nodded. Olivia and Thalia were bound to be confused. But they would understand soon enough.

"Then let us begin..."

Euros clasped his hands together, then as he drew them back, there was a glowing orb of incandescent light between his palms.

"All elements were born from the two primordial sources of life, the light, Effyís and Darkness, Skotaaś."

Darkness appeared within the pure light, and yet it did not corrupt it, instead they seemed to flow naturally, like two parts of the same whole.

Euros’ voice dropped low in contemplation. "Two brothers forever at war, and yet so frighteningly similar..."

"It was from these two elements that the primordial elements rose. Fire and wind from light, earth and water from darkness—"

"Haaaa—-!" Olivia suddenly yawned, interrupting him.

"I didn’t summon you here to give me a lecture, chop chop, I’ve got places to be." Ark sighed.

Euros glared at them, muttering something about disrespect before snapping his fingers, engulfing all four summons with the strange mix of light and darkness.

Ark watched as the light burned brightly around them, just before their colours began to change.

Sumo’s aura turned light blue, like the sky, Jenna’s aura had turned as black as a raven’s feathers.

Inquisitor’s was starlight silver, and finally, Inquisitor’s aura had banished the darkness within it, turning white and spotless...

But that was not the only change that had occurred.

The aura dimmed down, but it did not vanish. Now there was a soft hum of elemental energy over them, giving shape to their bodies.

It was not noticeable for Sumo, since he was not a skeleton like the others... but for the rest, it was almost as if the aura was trying to mimic the shape of their bodies before they had died.

"Interesting..."

’But what elements did they awaken?’ Ark mused. Just like Euros had said, it was impossible to guess just by the colour of their aura alone...

SKREEEEEE!

Ark’s gaze immediately snapped towards the sound, only to see dozens of lizard-like creatures rushing towards them like a dark tide.

[Threat detected! Basilisks, Level 12 x 79!]

"Monsters?" Thalia frowned. "They must have been attracted here by the blood of their kin..."

Her dark aura coated her claws, and she was about to step forward when Ark stopped her.

"This is actually just what we needed." He glanced at his summons, his eyes gleaming maliciously. It was the perfect opportunity to see just what they were now capable of.

"Handle them..."

As the throng of basilisks rushed down like an avalanche of scales, teeth and devastating claws...

Ark’s summons walked towards them with unhurried steps.

The monsters snarled, spittle pouring out of their mouths as they salivated in anticipation of the meal to come.

Some rushed above their allies, eyes wide with madness, while some tumbled over the lava in haste, and yet they were unharmed.

Inquisitor took a step forward and raised his sword, swirling it in the wind, his eyes locked on the mass of bodies.

The wind suddenly picked up around his blade. His dark sword glowed a bright white light, the wind howled like an enraged beast...

And then Inquisitor brought the sword down, sending a wave of piercing wind towards them.

VWOOSH!!

The wind cut right into them, swirling violently, and transforming the pure winds into a red, bloody haze.

Ark laughed.

"I guess we now know what his element is... to think he would awaken a wind element."

"No, it is not wind." Euros shook his head, a serious look in his eyes as he stared at the summon.

"To think a mere summon will awaken such an ability...."

Ark was confused by his statement. "If it is not wind, then what is it?"

Euros glanced at him and smiled.

"Gravity."
