A few hours after Kael left his resting room, the space suddenly distorted greatly, and soon after, two figures appeared.

The first was a stallion about three meters high, its head almost touching the high ceiling. Its dark coat bristled, its front crimson hooves shifting slightly and sending cracks spreading across the ground. Its crimson eyes fell on the small figure before it, flashing with a subtle protective light.

The text above it glowed with a bright yellow light.

[LV. 40]

If the others should see the color of the text, rather than the actual level shocking them, what would truly send them reeling was the implication of the yellow color.

Before it, a small girl with waist-length dark hair and eyes as dark as the night looked around, a cold light flashing within them. A shocking killing intent hung around her like a drawn blade poised to strike, but a second later, the aura disappeared like an illusion, forcefully restrained within her body.

Rose's perception bloomed outward in an instant, spreading out to cover a shocking three-hundred-meter radius around her. Everything and everyone within the sphere of her perception became clear to her senses, and nothing was hidden from her.

She picked out the incongruity among the survivors almost instantly, but she ignored the issue for the moment.

'No, not everything.'

Her senses barely lingered on a figure standing outside the school with a zombie before them. Instead, her head tilted upward as if she could peer through space itself and gaze upon what lay beyond.

Two eerie blue glowing eyes suddenly filled Rose's senses.

The latter's expression turned serious as she saw the zombie seated before a massive white laboratory table, fresh organs still dripping with blood spread across it. Around the undead, zombies, elites, rares, and others alike prostrated themselves on the ground, none daring to move.

Rose's senses barely lingered on the bloody flesh tinged with corruption and instantly focused on the foe who seemed to also be gazing at her.

The undead was the size of a normal human, and funnily enough, it dressed as one. Donned in a white suit without a single blemish despite the bloody feast spread before it, the undead could almost be mistaken for a living person if not for its oversized head and eerie glowing blue eyes.

Before Rose could observe further, the undead suddenly grinned.

The sound of something shattering filled Rose's senses.

Blood spilled from her mouth like a fountain, and she fell to the ground like a puppet whose strings had been cut. The suffocating pressure around her was instantly snuffed out, and blood leaked from all her orifices. Yet the girl didn't make a sound, the only change in her expression being a slight frown.

The Ruinsteed behind her snorted and unleashed a portion of its aura while moving to support her, but Rose raised a hand for it to remain still.

It was then those on the second floor noticed their sudden appearance.

The first to arrive was Nathan, the young senior practically jumping out from the shadows lurking at the sides.

"Rose?"

A look of surprise flashed across his face for a moment before he attempted to move to check on the little girl.

But those two cold eyes made his feet feel rooted to the spot.

Nathan's eyes widened slightly, his trained senses warning him not to move.

The Ruinsteed snorted at the side, but Nathan barely spared it a glance. Of course, he was a bit surprised the creature had grown to an elite rank, but that was all. Despite the level difference, Nathan felt no fear toward it.

No, what prevented him from moving was the little girl gazing at him like a predator eyeing its prey.

It was then a few more figures rushed into the room.

First was Sophia, then came Natalie and Nathaniel.

"Rosy..."

Sophia's steps slowly came to a halt. Seeing her friend's state, her young heart couldn't help but ache. Only those who had been within the trial for twelve hours knew what they had gone through, so what about her friend who had been gone for more than three days?

Rose wiped the blood at the side of her mouth with the back of her hand before rising to her feet.

She spat out blood mixed with a few pieces of flesh and turned to face those in the room.

Yet no one expected the question that came out of her mouth.

"Why are Ben and Daniel missing their arms?"

For some reason, no one dared answer.

They could all feel it.

Something was very wrong here.

Not receiving any response, Rose asked once more, this time with a more commanding tone.

At the same time, a sliver of killing intent escaped her small body.

"I said, why are Ben and Daniel missing their arms?"

Her eyes glowed with a deep pink light, and before anyone realized what was happening, Natalie started recounting the series of events that had occurred.

The girl barely finished when Nathan, who was at the forefront, vanished into the shadows.

Almost at the same time, the pink glow in Rose's eyes intensified, and one after another, the others in the room fell unconscious.

From beginning to end, she didn't even spare her best friend more than a glance.

"You stay back and protect them. I will be right back."

Max the Ruinsteed snorted in affirmation as Rose walked out of the room.

She spread her perception out once again ignoring the stinging pain that flared up for a moment. This time, she focused her mind on the space above her head.

With a quiet flicker, the brightly glowing blue [LV. 31] above her, disappeared without a trace.
