Kael studied the information before him calmly, his rushing blood slowly returning to normal. Despite being excited about his new talent, the memory of the strange occurrence he had just experienced lingered within his heart.

When he reached the sudden mutation of his already evolved talent, he couldn't help but wonder what was going on.

'Is this perhaps a hidden synergy between my Devourer talent and Energi?'

If that was the case, he really needed to rethink his unique energy. It was far more important than he thought. Not only could it enhance the skills of items he wielded, but it now also affected his talent.

'Was that strange colorless energy the true form of Energi? Also, why did it seem alive?'

Just the thought of it made his body shiver.

Why were there a lot of secrets hidden in his body?

First was his talent, one he felt had always been a part of him for some weird reason. And now this. There was something else slumbering within him.

'Am I even still human?'

He quickly shook the thought away. He couldn't afford to waste his time on something he couldn't affect.

'Well, that was hectic!'

He raised his lowered head, intending to check his surroundings, only to freeze at the sight before him.

The survivors watched the scene before them in terror. One moment, the young demon was writhing on the ground, and in the next, two of the black, smooth, strange limbs jutting out of his back suddenly pierced into the earth. And with movements that made the survivors feel like they were dreaming, the two limbs lengthened, the action lifting the young demon up until he rose into the skies and reached a height level with the second floor of the grand main building.

Many held their breath in horror, their eyes fixed on that small figure with the two limbs piercing down into the abyss, and another two raised above his shoulders, their pointed ends aimed in their direction.

His green shirt was long destroyed from the transformation of his body, and his pants were in tatters from the ravaging of the mana tornado. Together with his back, which was smeared in blood, Kael truly looked like a young demon that had emerged from the deepest part of hell.

He looked nothing like a human at this moment.

The strange silence seemed to continue for an eternity, until someone finally gathered enough courage to open their mouth.

Yet, before they could speak, the young demon, who had his head lowered and his appearance hidden by his long, wild hair, suddenly snapped his head up.

Many of them felt their souls flee their bodies at that moment.

The young demon looked around for a moment before his eyes fell on them.

And, oh God, were those eyes not anything a normal human should have. The intensity with which they glowed seemed to coalesce into two blue beams that pierced directly into their fleeing souls.

It was almost as if they were under the gaze of a God.

A few tense seconds ensued before the young demon flashed a smile that he must have thought was endearing, but in their vision, was more like the grin of a devil welcoming fresh souls into his domain.

They thought it couldn't get worse, but they were wrong.

Very wrong.

"Hello there!"

The young demon spoke while waving his right hand in some form of cordial greeting, but they didn't even hear his words. How could they, when their eyes were fixed on the bloody mess in his mouth?

Weak or not, they were still awakened, and with their bodies strengthened by mana over the levels they had gathered, they could all clearly see the pieces of internal organs lodged between the demon's teeth, and the bloody foam dripping from the corners of his lips.

"AAAAH!"

Many stumbled backward, a few even collapsing to the ground.

"D-demon! He is a demon! Run!"

The corridor suddenly descended into utter pandemonium, as fear spread through the survivors faster than any command could contain it, with people stumbling over one another in their desperate attempt to put distance between themselves and the terrifying figure.

Kael could only watch with wide eyes as the survivors tripped over themselves, struggling to scatter in different directions while screaming words like...

"Demon!"

"Monster!"

"Stay away from us!"

"He will turn us too!"

"Kill it before it's too late!"

"Don't let it come closer!"

Not long after, only two figures remained before him. His glowing blue eyes met with Ms. Claire's, but when she quickly looked away, Kael didn't know why he felt a quiet sorrow in his heart.

Turning to the old man, he saw his hardened gaze trained on him, as though searching for even the slightest trace that the young man standing before him was no longer entirely himself].

He couldn't help but flash a sheepish smile while rubbing his hair in embarrassment.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a ruckus."

As though a heavy stone that had been pressing against his chest had finally been removed, the Principal released a breath, sighed and then shook his head.

"Just how are you so high up?"

Kael couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"Of course, it's because of my new... huh?"

He froze, and his eyes slowly shifted downward.

Looking at the earth nearly fifteen meters below, and his sister and team, who were gazing up at him with speechless expressions, Kael finally truly registered his surroundings, prompting his pupils to shrink into needle points.

A shriek practically tore out of his bloodied lips.

"Bloody hell!"
