Kael was so lost in his own world that, for a moment, he forgot he wasn't the only one in the room.

It wasn't until he heard Alice's soft voice, which carried a strange tone, that he froze on the spot.

"Are you okay?"

Kael's eyes shifted back to Jinx, and he sent her an aggrieved look.

'You will be the death of me!'

The little snake glowered back, refusing to budge an inch.

Coughing into his hand, he turned toward Alice and flashed his best smile.

"Why wouldn't I be okay? I was just..." He paused, deliberating for a moment before continuing, "...trying some new moves."

Then, he swung his hands as if he were swinging a bat.

Jinx didn't miss that opening.

She quickly dislodged herself from his hair and immediately slithered away.

To Kael's perception, it was almost as if she were swimming through space. Though he couldn't linger observing any longer.

His right hand flashed out like lightning as he quickly gripped her escaping tail.

From beginning to end, he had his eyes fixed on Alice's breathtaking visage, and he couldn't help but laugh in embarrassment when he noticed her doubtful gaze.

Alice shook her head, before looking him up and down.

She suddenly raised an eyebrow.

"Why don't you cut your hair?"

There was this strange presence Kael was subconsciously emitting. It was as if she were looking at something older, someone more ancient.

It was just that with his hair now almost reaching waist length, and with how wild and scattered it looked, it lent him a ferocious and untamed appearance, especially coupled with his increased height.

Kael couldn't help but flash a rueful smile.

"Trust me, I have tried. Yet no matter what I do, it just won't cut."

Kael had never been a fan of long hair. Even before the apocalypse descended, he had always maintained a low cut.

Yet, after awakening his Talent and settling down, he had tried to reduce its length, but nothing worked.

He had even wasted his dwindling coins to first get a normal pair of scissors, before opting for a Rare-rank sword.

"Oh!" Alice raised a brow. "Can I try?"

"Please." Kael gestured with his other hand, hope flashing within his eyes.

Aside from his personal preference, having such long hair might become a hindrance in battle.

Alice closed the distance before moving behind him.

Her mana stirred, and a blue sword appeared in her hand.

Unlike before, this sword was impossibly clear and appeared no different from a real sword, if not for its color.

Her wrist flicked slightly, and before Kael could react, the sword parted the air like a streak of blue lightning, before landing on his hair.

Yet, it felt as though it had struck an indestructible silk thread.

No matter how she tried, the hair wouldn't cut.

Even after gathering only a few strands together and trying once more to cut them, nothing happened.

A flicker of curiosity shone within her amethyst eyes.

She could feel how soft and silky Kael's hair was despite its wild appearance.

Yet, she still couldn't cut through it.

Thinking of something, two hiltless blades, one each, suddenly flashed within her eyes.

A formless pressure suddenly spread out.

Kael felt goosebumps spread across his skin, every hair on his body standing on end, and every instinct within him screaming in warning.

It was almost as though countless invisible threads were closing around his body, and the terrifying feeling that even the slightest brush against them would slice him into countless pieces filled his mind.

Thankfully, the sensation disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.

He hadn't even noticed when Alice struck again, nor that he had been holding his breath.

Only after a few breaths passed did his nerves relax slightly.

"Sorry, I just wanted to try my Will and see if it would work."

It was rare for the young girl to speak so many words at once, but Kael could sense the genuine sincerity in her voice.

He shook his head and secretly let out a breath.

"That was your Will?"

"Yes." Alice nodded.

Kael couldn't help but turn to her.

Just what was this monster before him?

He had felt his sister's Will, and together with his own, he was already beginning to form a picture of this mysterious power the system didn't care to explain.

Yet, what he felt from Alice was different.

Fundamentally different.

Rather than some abstract force or conceptual influence, it felt as though her Will could directly interfere with the physical world, which was nothing short of terrifying.

"You have become so powerful."

This further reaffirmed his conjecture that she might be the most powerful among them.

Alice flashed a small smile.

"So have you."

Her eyes lingered on the top of his head.

Even now, she couldn't sense his level, leaving her with a lingering sense of uncertainty.

Still, she could instinctively feel how strong Kael was.

And it filled her with dread.

It was almost as though she were standing before an unimaginably massive serpent, one that looked down upon her like a primordial predator observing insignificant prey.

Still, her Will remained unshaken, standing firm like a peerless sword that sought to split the heavens themselves.

She was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts by Kael's next words.

He had been so lost in his own world that he didn't realize he had blurted them out.

"...and so pretty..."

Alice felt a giddy warmth bloom within her heart. Still, she didn't show it, her face retaining its usual stoic expression.

- SHING! SHING! SHING!

The two were quickly pulled away by the sharp cries.

Alice turned toward her sword, and when she received the transmitted message, she couldn't help but feel speechless.

Try using me too! Try using me too! I want to cut his neck!
