[Godly Focus has been activated!]

Kael's dark-as-night eyes glowed with such an intensity they could be mistaken for two small blue suns shining under the gloomy skies.

With a wet tearing sound, accompanied by a small burst of blood, four black obsidian limbs, their surfaces smooth and sleek, suddenly emerged from his back.

Kael's second mind smoothly kicked into action, his four Weaver limbs moving like they had consciousness of their own.

Summoning his Weaver limbs used no energi from his reserve, as they were a part of him he had merely kept hidden. However, adjusting their sizes or forming another four would be what used up his energy.

But Kael didn't mind. On such a battlefield, he didn't need to worry about lacking Energi, at least until he reached level 24.

His two lower Weaver limbs suddenly dug into the ground, and their length exploded in size. With a flex, Kael was catapulted into the air with such speed that his body seemed to form a line that connected into the skies.

His body spun several times, Godly Focus allowing him to rein his emotions under control.

Just as he reached his maximum height, he was able to right his body, albeit barely.

With his four Weaver limbs spread out behind him like a blooming flower, and his eyes glowing with such an intense blue that they could be seen from the far ground, Kael resembled a monstrous spider descending from the heavens, its black limbs spread wide and its glowing blue eyes piercing through the darkness like twin beacons of death.

'There.'

With an uncanny Focus, he pinpointed his target in a split second, and his two upper Weaver limbs kicked into action, jerking so fast they turned into a blur.

Thin webs rushed down from the skies, before latching onto the hide of the neck of a charging boar.

The beast swung its head to the side, preparing to barrel through Elena, who had turned her side of the battlefield into a snow ground.

Yet what the beast didn't know was that Kael had taken advantage of the pull from its head movement, and acting along with it, his body was suddenly dragged down to the ground with far greater speed than he had flown up.

He held the bladeless hilt in his mouth so he could enjoy its stat boosts, and brought his hands together while raising them above his head.

[Ignition Fist has been activated!]

Thick and bright golden flames coiled around his hands, and with the downward tug, Kael's body trailed a line of golden fire down to the earth like a falling comet.

Before the beast could react...

— BOOOOOM!

The beast didn't even know what hit it, as at the very last second, Kael activated the skill of his Epic-rank gauntlet, Double Impact, multiplying the damage of his attack already fueled by over sixty units of energi, by a further 100%.

The boar's head literally exploded, blood and brain matter spraying everywhere, and even Kael didn't come out of his act of madness intact.

But that wasn't all!

— RUMBLE!

Golden flames exploded into the surroundings, searing and incinerating everything in their paths.

The battle seemed to still for a moment as all eyes turned to the commotion.

From deep within the embrace of the burning flames, first shone two blue orbs of light, then came four elongated black limbs that could barely be made out.

Only when he reached the edge of the fire domain did Kael's figure become visible.

His green shirt was gone, exposing his blood-smeared torso, compact muscles clearly defined beneath his skin, with several fresh scratches running across his chest and abdomen, now healing under the effect of Ember Regeneration.

The others watched this sight with open mouths. Whispers flew across the survivors' camp in the distance, talk of whether Kael had maybe even entered the second order.

Yes, they had been there when he had awakened his talent, but they had no idea of what had even transpired or how to explain the event.

Not to mention that they weren't aware of when Kael entered his trial. After all, the night the others had left, he and the Principal had stayed behind.

But the old man later entered, yet no one knew when Kael had.

Still, considering Kael usually stayed alone and away from other survivors, they assumed he had already become a first-order Awakened.

But that still couldn't explain the sight before them.

A strange glint flashed in Elena's eyes, before she stirred her mana and sent a wave of frost into her surroundings, freezing the remains of the fire to prevent them from lighting up the entire grassy fields around the academy and turning the surrounding area into an uncontrolled inferno that could easily expose their position and ruin their carefully planned escape.

The battle continued after this brief pause.

The boars, despite being of the mere Common rank, were not to be trifled with.

Localized earthquakes shook the area every time they used their skills, and when they wanted to get closer to use their bulky frames to their advantage, crimson light exploded around them, granting them a mismatched speed for their sizes.

Alas, the humans they were facing were no ordinary ones, and no matter how many boars charged out of the crack, they found themselves butchered, adding to the piling corpses across the ground.

Kael darted across the battlefield, gaining experience at such a speed, only his sister Rose could keep up with. And the reason she could barely keep up was because he occasionally took his time to summon some of the corpses into his spatial ring for Aegis, Seris and Jinx to devour.

He wasn't the only one growing stronger at this moment.

Sometimes, he moved like an arachnid, his body suspended several meters above the ground, as his four Weaver limbs scurried forward at great speed.

Silky threads bloomed around him. Some took on a silvery light, wrapping and digging into the flesh of the boars, eliciting pained roars from even these creatures with great defenses.

Sometimes, the threads he formed took on a dirty light, the beasts finding their limbs stuck as they became wrapped in webs.

Ignition Fist caused sounds of explosions to resound in the area like detonating bombs.

At times, Kael would settle for using handguns from a short distance, sniping the creatures, while his Weaver limbs brought him around their attacks smoothly.

The Rare items exploded with every use of his Energi, but Kael didn't mind. He was raking in more coins than he was losing.

Not to mention, he was growing stronger.

Under the effect of the night event, where each EXP gained was half that the enemy possessed, Kael's level rose like a runaway tide, each surge carrying him higher and higher as the corpses of his enemies piled beneath his feet.

Just when he reached level 22, Kael found no more beasts to slay around him.

Instead, piles of massive corpses spread out in the distance, and only the small frames of him and his team remained standing tall on the battlefield.

For a moment, there was strange silence.

Then came the cheers in the distance behind them.

Covered in blood, some his and some that of those he had slain, Kael studied the spatial crack before him.

Despite how it seemed like they had strolled through the battle, the truth was that that was far from the truth. At some point, they started accruing injuries like soldiers slowly being worn down beneath an endless tide, each wound accumulating despite their overwhelming strength, and if it wasn't for Sophia in the distance, some of them might have even fallen.

This was the advantage of a great healer, especially an Epic-ranked one like Sophia, who could now heal from a distance, as long as the person was in her eyesight.

Of course, she, the old man, and the others also had to level up.

But that was okay.

The night event was far from being over, and so were they.

Elena's voice suddenly resounded in the area.

"Let's go with Plan D!"

They had formed many plans for their escape, and in one of the rare scenario they had considered where they could actually pull their own weight like now, they had thought of how to move forward.

They were humans, and one of a human's strongest points would always be their intelligence.

Kael and his team quickly moved towards the spatial crack, while the Principal and the survivors behind also jumped into action.

They had to act fast in this short window they had bought themselves before the true abomination appeared.

After all, they had only faced Common-ranked beasts, not to mention, the undead were yet to appear.

The team arrived before the crack, and they quickly summoned many items from their inventory.

With bright silver lights, several round objects fell to the ground.

Explosives!

Far behind, after ensuring their path of escape, the Principal directed the other survivors to begin planting more explosives into the ground in their surroundings.

It was in the process of their action that a deep roar came from within the spatial crack, and soon after, a massive head emerged.

A palpable wave of pressure rolled out, causing Kael and the others to freeze as they gazed at the massive yet majestic head of the Elite-ranked boar that was yet to fully emerge.

Yet, just as they held their breath, and before the creature could emerge fully, a vertical line of blue seemed to split the world, and soon after, the roar of the beast came to a stop.

"Be fast."

Alice's soft voice drifted across the area.
