Kael's body seemed to blur as his eyes turned into two floating orbs of blue that illuminated the darkness.

One second, he was behind the group, but in another second, he had already appeared beside Alice, who was being pincered by three zombies.

None of the four could react before Kael spun in the air, a spinning back kick connecting with the head of one of the undead, as he effortlessly copied Alice's movement from earlier.

- BANG!

With a wet sound, the monster's head exploded into blood and white matter the moment his heel touched it. Kael landed smoothly, his swept leg digging a line into the ground. He had barely come to a stop when he suddenly took a step, entering into the personal space of another zombie. The monster couldn't even follow his figure as he flashed before it and grabbed it by the jaws, his gauntlet tightening around its mouth with a sickening crack.

With a slight grunt, he raised the creature, who was on all fours but could easily tower over him if it stood upright, into the air, before choke-slamming it onto the ground.

- BANG!

A cloud of dust billowed into the air, as a jet of black ichor flew out of the creature's mouth. The line of blood had barely reached its peak height, when Kael's already raised foot slammed down like a guillotine falling from the skies.

The cloud of dust was immediately dispersed by the immense force, the sight of Kael's foot submerged in a pool of blood and gore revealed in the open.

Only now that he stopped moving could the others process what happened.

Looks of shock appeared on the faces of his team members, but the last undead was undeterred by the sight, as it roared and lunged at him.

This was a level 24 zombie, one that had almost cost Kael his life just earlier that day. Yet, Kael didn't even bother to turn his head in its direction, the creature's head flashing to his side, and in the process of widening its disgusting lips to bite his head off.

Yet it wouldn't get the chance.

A left hook cut through the air. It didn't look as if he put much force into the attack, with how relaxed his stance was.

Yet all the others saw was a blur, the sound of something exploding, and finally black blood blooming in the air. Not even a split second later, what remained of the creature flew back faster than it had arrived, and deep into the darkness.

Kael turned his eyes to Alice behind him, and spoke two words, his tone appearing unusual. It almost seemed... flat.

"Keep up!"

Alice blinked once behind her helmet, yet Kael had already disappeared, the disturbing sound of heads being burst open spreading out into the night. She loosened her grip, and the two axes soaked with blood fell from her hands. Before touching the ground, they dispersed into blue motes of light. Yet Alice had already rushed forward with two short blades already conjured in her hands.

Together with Kael, the two went on a rampage, with Alice supporting from the sides. Kael left her to deal more of the killing blows, while occasionally helping the zombies controlled by his sister. He had no thought of increasing his level as quickly as possible. He wasn't sure what would happen if he should reach level 24, and if he would automatically progress into the first order.

He didn't plan to do so, and that too, for a long time.

Besides...

'Weak.'

That was the only word he had for the undead he was effortlessly crushing. These were zombies rushing from the surroundings, and with their school being in a secluded region with only a few sparse homes here and there, many of them rested at level 22 and 23. Even for the current Alice, who was already at level 17, they were too weak. She danced around, the two short blades in her hands making quick work of the creatures.

As for Kael, from the beginning, he had not even activated a skill, nor had he used the one granted by his gauntlet.

There was simply no need with the first activation of Godly Focus active.

Kael had yet to use his free attributes since this night event started. He was planning on hoarding them unless the situation called for it. This night event was not the end of the road. It must be remembered that one of the reasons they could rampage so easily was because their resources were recovered with each level up. They wouldn't have such leeway under normal circumstances.

That said, just the first activation of his first mythical skill left him feeling so powerful. So strong to the point that even Alice, who was now 7 levels higher than him and also ridiculously strong at the moment, could not keep up.

With his mind stat at almost fifty points, Godly Focus easily boosted it past the hundred mark, and close to 130. Even though these changes didn't reflect on his status page, and he was simply under the effects of such a fact, it did absolutely nothing to diminish just how mind-breaking such a feat was. If the powers of the outer universe were to witness this sight, they would be left stunned on the spot.

Each of the zombies moved at a turtle's pace in his vision, and with his perception now granting him a 360-degree dynamic vision matching his stat distance, none could surprise him. All he had to do was boost his agility to match up to his mind stat, even only slightly. But with each unit of ENERGI now granting three stats, it was easier on him.

'There is no need for me to be here.'

None of these creatures could threaten his team any longer, so Kael made a decision without any hesitation.

He arrived beside Alice, who was just about to turn to attack a zombie, only to watch him twist the creature's neck with a sweep of his elbow.

"I will leave things to you here."

As if she was already expecting such a thing, she nodded before he could even finish his words. Kael spared the figure surrounded by radiant blue armor another glance, yet no emotions showed on his face.

Then he simply vanished from sight, too fast for Alice to follow.

He directly used more than half of his Energi to boost his agility, bringing it closer to 100. Then he simply killed a zombie on his way, raising his level once more and refilling his Energi.

He reached the wall and his knees bent, his calves tensing.

- BANG!

He jumped almost ten meters into the air, and vaulted past the obstacle.

With a small thud, Kael landed, his eyes quickly moving to survey the battlefield.

And what he saw...

...made his eyes widen even under the effect of Godly Focus.

A herd of stallion-like steeds moved as a synchronized group on the battlefield. Their elites had already joined the battle as they stood as the vanguard.

A dirty earthy glow shone before their outstretched mouths, as one earth spike after another erupted and cut through the battlefield, leaving the harsh whistling sound of split air in their wake. Each spike was easily over five meters long, and when they exploded in the ranks of the undead, they turned into hundreds of sharp shards that cut into anything in their immediate surroundings.

The elite steeds resembled walking artillery units, as they moved their heads, sending one spike after another. Sand and dust billowed around them, the battlefield trembling beneath their stampede-like advance while explosions of stone and flesh erupted across the undead ranks.

The sight was surreal.

It was then Kael realized a gripping truth.

All the undead he had crushed were of the common rank. Not even one had been of the rare rank. The worst? None of those common-rank zombies had broken into the first order.

Yet...

[LV. 29 ??? (ELITE)]

[LV. 28 ??? (ELITE)]

[LV. 30 ??? (ELITE)]

And the zombies?

[LV. 39 FIRST ORDER ZOMBIE (COMMON)]

[LV. 39 FIRST ORDER ZOMBIE (COMMON)]

[LV. 38 FIRST ORDER ZOMBIE (COMMON)]

[LV. 32 FIRST ORDER ZOMBIE (RARE)]

What made him think that just because he and his group were growing strong, these creatures were not experiencing the same?

One must especially not forget that the undead were already under a buff. And with the one granted under the night event, there was a great chance the effects would stack.

It wasn't that Kael had not thought of this. He certainly had. It was just that he thought they were improving at a speed he felt these creatures might not keep up with. After all, their classes were far higher than theirs.

But looking at the sight before him, Kael couldn't stop the two words from leaving his lips, ones he had not spoken in a while, the effect of FOCUS being the only thing keeping his emotions in check.

"Bloody hell..."
